I’m really not trying to bash this place, but I was horribly upset and disappointed with my haircut. I came here on a walk in to get a fade. I asked for a tapered fade, and to keep all the length on the top . Assuming this guy was a semi decent “barber,” I figured that he would fade my hair along the same fade lines as my last haircut. Unfortunately, I was wrong :/ I basically ended up with a Mohawk. The man who cut my hair started the fade way too high up on my head. Don’t touch the top means DO NOT TAKE ANY HAIR OFF THE TOP!!!!!!! Pretty self explanatory. The man who gave me my cut also seemed like he was in a rush, despite the fact that there was no one waiting in the shop. After I left I noticed a lot of sloppy spots where he obviously didn’t pay much attention to detail at all. I tried to come back and have them fix it, but they refused to since they were closing, despite the fact that their hours on the door said they were open for another hour. I ended up at a Supercuts, and even the lady there agreed that the fade looked sloppy and rushed. I had to take length off the top and get the sides done again just to make it look decent, which I’m not happy about at all :/ SAD when a Supercuts does better than a barbershop, really.......Pathetic. I should’ve know to run when I walked into a bunch of dead animals on the walls. The place looked more like a Bass Pro than a Barber Shop. I’d usually turn around and walk out upon entry to a place like that, but I was trying to have an open mind , should’ve listened to my gut. I would’ve been a lot happier spending 30$ at a “trendy “ barber shop to get some quality, or 10 at Supercuts

Just left with a great, slick cut! Real cool shop that is nothing over-the-top, but has great service. I walked in around 9 o'clock on a Saturday morning and was immediately seated in a barber's chair. Calvin was my barber and I would highly recommend! I'll be going back to Brentwood to get my next cut

I've had multiple people go there. I've recommended them for haircuts..the younger guy with a longer beard is an excellent barber. Great personality... Great barber... The older guy that works there..(possibly the owner) is not a good barber. This is 2019.. you need to learn how to fade correctly. .. I will still go there but will not recommend you. Also to the older man/owner when a black/African American customer walks in... Keep your opinions and non spoken attitude under control. It was very clear you didn't want to cut his hair. Again.. 2019... He did not offend you.. you judged him as soon as he walked in. You have the right as a person to have n opinion. But others still watch your ungrateful and biased attitude.

This is by far the best barber shop in town. I've been to others, many of them good, but the attention to detail here is amazing! They take their time and strive for perfection. John and Calvin are excellent for skin fades (I just haven't had Ray cut my hair yet). The conversation and atmosphere is very comfortable and welcoming for everyone. I don't know where a previous reviewer is getting her ideas regarding race. John has been my barber for MANY YEARS and I have seen nothing but love and respect shown to all of his clients regardless of skin color, sexual orientation or any other reason. Nothing but respect. It might be a good idea to actual be sure of the facts before publicly accusing someone of such a deplorable motive.

I have been in here 4 times trying to give them a chance. I am bald and i like a straight razor cut. I will no longer be going here and here is why. 1st time perfect no complaints 2nd time same thing did what i asked 3rd time i asked for the samething and the bald guy in here started doing his thing. And next he said man i cant do it we r getting busy so he safety cut it. Ok ok he was busy fine. 4th thime i went in 3/7 first thing in the morning had big beard guy this time i said i want a straight razor shave. Well what do u know he used a wahls electric shaver and said man this is the best shave any body could ask for. Well buddy thats not what i asked for. Nobody was in there till the end and he started rushing. Long story short i will never go back to brentwoods barborshop. O and a straight razor shave is $25. Sry guys i dont recommend this place

I loved it the way it was, and I will defend Doug tell the day I die, he's got the most experience there then anyone. So if you don't like him, your not a true customer of Brentwood barbershop. I think the shop was better when me and Doug ran it. No complaints and we were voted the best in the ozarks. Not the news leader were you have to pay for your rank vote, but by merchant circle, who voted by the quality of work, not how much you pay for rank.

I have been going to John at Brentwood since before he went to Brentwood. (3 years ago) John is hands down the best barber in Springfield, check his Instagram if you don't believe me. This is not a "hipster barbershop" in that they don't charge outrageous prices and they don't take appointments. However, if you bother to get to know the guys you will realize they are committed to their art! Bring cash, yeah it is that old school excellence, don't bring card. I cannot say enough about this barbershop, but regardless it is worth visiting before you spend a $30 at the "trendy" barbershop. Best Barbershop in Springfield!!!!

What an amazing place and amazing staff. The guys here are friendly and do a fantastic job cutting hair. I had been looking for a shop to get my haircuts for almost 3 years until I found these guys. I’ve been going to Brentwood Barbershop for years! If you are looking for a fun, friendly atmosphere, good conversation, a great haircut at a fair price then I highly recommend Brentwood Barbershop. You will not be disappointed. If you’re into the “foo foo” overpriced salon cut, then you need to go somewhere else, that way you can’t complain about in a Google review. Save the “foo foo” for the other guys.

I haven't been there in over a year because I moved away, but I saw a picture of myself from a few years ago and I was really impressed. John, Doug and Jordan are a great bunch and they'll leave you satisfied. One time I was in a rush at the end of the day and I think it was John who got me taken care of in less than 10 minutes. Otherwise, I would have had to wait until the next day. They'll usually have some old SciFi movie or something on the TV too.

I only gave a rating so I can comment...this place is terrible... racist and unprofessional! Looking threw the reviews they only respond to good reviews and ignore the negative ones rather than trying to fix it. That's poor customer service! My hair cut here wasn't even sub par I had to have it fixed...If you want a good haircut go to Dillangers behind plaza towers! Brad and Doug know what they are doing!
