Not really good place to have a haircut. The barber wants you not to watch what he’s doing otherwise he will get nervous as he said. I don’t like it.

There was no one else in the shop when my cut began, and we made small talk and he asked about my cut. A couple of minutes later, a group of 4 or 5 came into the shop, and my barber clearly began to rush through the cut and stopped talking to me. I had told him I would go as short as a 1 around the sides, and he never even took out his clippers. The cut itself wasn't blended very well, which was easy to attribute to his rushing to get me out of the chair. Seemed to care a lot more about his regulars that walked in than spending a couple extra minutes and keeping a first time customer. Probably a skilled barber, but won't be returning here.

Quality barbershop, excellent service. Only reason I couldn't give 5 stars was that I didn't get full focus from the barber (he's the owner and understandably busy, and it was a Sunday in fairness), and his English had a bit left wanting. That being said, I got a beard trim and a haircut, and it was incredibly friendly. Great hours!

This was one of the best barbershop experiences I've ever had. I will be driving from st paul to salaam from now on. The waiting area is comfortable and the barber is an expert. I really appreciate his expertise because I don't know exactly what I want in a hair cut. I described generally the look that I wanted and the barber said, "Yes I understand." He then proceeded to give me the cut I wanted but couldn't describe. Left the shop and spent the rest of the day without being bothered by hair trimmings behind my collar. I will recommend this shop to all of my friends.

I used to go to some other barber shops in Minneapolis- without having any good experiences. Most places have different barbers working every time you go back. Salaam Barber was just a few blocks from my house, so I thought I would try it. After I went for the first time, I've never gotten my haircut anywhere else. Abdullah is *by far* the most skilled, experienced barber I've ever had cut my hair. The price is really good and the haircuts he gives are so great. Abdullah is very friendly and open. I always look forward to going to get my haircut here and watching National Geographic channel with him. Or were we watching the news?

He was able to get me in on short notice, on a Sunday no less. Great haircut, perfect line up and decent quality fade. The owner was engaged in conversation with others the entire time, but I do not need the attention of his lips; I need his eyes and hands, of which I was given full attention. My barber of three years recently moved and I’m looking for a new one that I can see weekly — however, at $30 for a haircut and trim, I’m not sure if this will be possible for me. Overall I would definitely recommend.
