So I'm waiting at the crappy corporate Great Clips in Midway Center this morning when they let 2 guys go ahead of me, who came in 15 minutes *after* me, with the policy that they "checked in online." Nope. Not making me wait another half an hour, you lost my business. (That, and my girl Kristen there has been MIA for weeks, looks like she quit?) So I find Clean Cuts as the next closest place (just moved to St. Paul, don't know what's what yet), and when I walk in Ty greets me, makes me feel welcome, shows me their awesome PHOTO CHART to pick out what I need him to do (a brilliant device), then uses his superior 28-year-honed skills to make me look exactly like I wanted to, while talking up a storm. Great experience, and I'm headed back there next month. Skip the big chains and their b.s., support local business. Give these guys your money, get what you wanted, go home happy. Oh, and they have a TV in the floor of the waiting area. ;) Come see that as a bonus...

Thank God their University store is going to stay open after the unfortunate closing of their Selby location. You cannot get a bad cut here no matter who is cutting, but I would be remiss if I didn't mention the unparalleled skill and creativity of my barber Tino. Day time Robbery. I saw a man trying to get his son a hair cut but the kid was ticklish and not cooperative. Finally the owner who was cutting his hair told the father he is not going to cut his son's hair and demanded the kid to get up from the chair and seat on the waiting area. I can see why the father was mad with both the kid and the owner it's not over yet guess what the owner charged the father $12 for a 1/4 job done. Stay away people.

I came in for the first time to check out the shop. I noticed that the sign outside said positive vibes, so I stopped in for a cut. The Barbour Tino has skills and cut my hair very nice. I will not come back though, due to his vibe and energy that he gave. He insulted me twice before the hair cut even started. At that point it was a little awkward. But I decided to continue with the hair cut. I thought maybe he’s having a bad day or some personal life problems that he’s dealing with. But either way, he rubbed me off the wrong way the whole time I was there. I felt uncomfortable and bothered by his profanity. I wanted to say less, but this is me, keeping it real.
