What an experience! I've had other interactions with so called barbers in the past and needless to say I wasn't sure what to expect; the same military style haircut that everyone seems to get or maybe something fresh and exciting. I can say with zero hesitation that Spanky gave me the best cut I've ever had! He listened to exactly what I was looking for, showed me pictures of similar cuts he's performed, asked questions and delivered. He, as well as his shop, is inviting, cool, and confident. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a barber in the NKY and Cinci area.

This is the premier place to get a haircut in Cincinnati/Newport area. Spanky is a cut above the rest (literally). I would recommend this barber to anyone in the area. The customer satisfaction is incredible and Spanky is truly a modern day gentleman. The interior decor is clean, rustic and exhibits Spanky's love for motorcycles. He truly understands what a customer is looking for in a barber.

On my 1st visit, I walk in and the place was full of customers. I was short on time so I walked out planning to return later. Spanky the owner runs out with the lobby of customers and says everything ok. I told him I was short on time but I'll be back. My business was that important for him to stop what he was doing to find out what I needed. Today was my 10th or so visit with Alex and like always that same customer service was still present.

Honestly the best haircut I've ever gotten. Spanky's is everything you want in a barbershop. 1. Best damn haircut/beard trim you'll find. 2. Tremendous barbers (good barber talk and I left more educated about my hair and what I should do) 3. Great atmosphere; tattoos, classis barbershop feel and style. 4. They care about the customer. I missed my appointment (make an apointment online) and chris stayed late until I was satisfied with my haircut and it was no big deal. Overall my first visit was great and I'll recommend friends and family hours away to make the drive for the freshest cut they can get.

Spanky's has made me a believer in quality haircuts. I stopped my Great Clips ways and am now a monthly patron. I recommend going during the week, as peak hours can have fairly long wait times. Spanky himself is by appointment only, but I've always done walk ins with his crew and they all know what they're doing. $25 cash for a cut, $10 for a beard trim, $30 for both. CASH ONLY.

Spanky's expansion is complete with new corner entrance and two rooms of quality barbers. Walk in and wait for any barber. They are all great. Cash only. Specialists in the hard part. A flipped (skate)board serves as seat riser for the young ones. Don't forget the Layrite cement clay.

Amazing barber shop and incredibly busy. I walked in 20 minutes after they opened and ended up waiting an hour and a half for a haircut but it was well worth the wait. You can schedule an appointment if you like but they fill up quickly. Parking is a little iffy because it is all street parking. Great experience overall.

Spanky is literally the best barber I've ever been to. His shop is clean and inviting and his music tastes are awesome. Walking into his parlor feels like walking into a skate shop or a tattoo parlor - it just feels awesome. He loves his craft and you can tell that he takes his time to make sure each and every person who comes in gets what they want. Spanky even takes time out of his busy schedule to walk the streets of our beloved cities (Newport, Cincinnati, etc.) and give back by giving homeless people free haircuts. This dude is putting in some work! It takes a little while to get in to see him because everyone who gets a cut from him doesn't want to go anywhere else (myself included).

Decent place but really expensive. $25 cash no credit cards and the ATM fee they have inside is $3 so almost $30 for 10 minutes haircut! I wouldn’t recommend it! I told him sir it’s convenient to have credit card machine and he said: but we have to pay fees and I said so you let customers pay $3 atm fee! He said: next time bring cash. I’m like there will be no next time

Spanky's is a highly skilled barber team who's generosity and kindness is shown every day in the care they gives for each customers haircut. I've been going here for over a year and I must say I will not go anywhere else in the city. From the hot lather neck shave to the conversation with the barber's this place is what a barbershop should be. The wait to get in is about what you would expect from a place that gets as much attention as Spanky's does. So plan for about an hour wait for walk-ins if you come on a weekday after 5 which is when I usually do.

I got a beard trim from a guy named Amal. The guy was super nice and he listened very closely to what I wanted. I have super long hair for a guy and he respected my wishes not to trim my hair. He ended up trimming up my beard, back of neck, and blended my beard sideburns into my hair. I felt and looked great. Will be going back. Tip: Bring cash! $$

First time with Ahman as my barber and was thoroughly impressed. The space is clean and un-cluttered (a more common problem I am noticing at other barbers/salons) and was promptly greeted kindly by a barber. Ahman was incredible. He began by asking what I was seeking and offered some of his own tweaks that he thought would make the look more flattering (something I appreciate). Within an hour he delivered an exceptional result that looked fly as f***. He was a pleasant conversationalist, exacting, and very professional. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be back.

Great place with experienced barbers and great conversation. Word of advice however, do your research on who does the best beard work. Not going to mention any names and burn any bridges, but I was set back a couple of months work yesterday after explaining that I wanted to have it shaped but continue growing length. Left with an uneven trim and a neckline that needs to regrow. Live and learn.

Great local Barbershop, awesome for varying beards lengths and styles. The staff are a bunch of super nice guys who all do a great job. They are by appointment only, go to their website or call to get scheduled. It's super easy and you can select your barber of choice so no worries on getting who you want. It is worth the time to check out in my opinion but you should just give it a try yourself.

This was the second time I went to Spanky's Newport and It wasn't really good for me. The Barber I had was Rude, He made it uncomfortable and awkward for me. I also felt like he was rushing to get my hair cut, because he had a Concert to go to tonight. Really bummed out with my hair and the guy who cut my hair. I really did like the Vibe/atmosphere of the baber shop but sadly to the barber who cut my hair that will probably be the last time I go there. ***Update*** Within two hours of giving my review the owner, Spanky, reached out to me and wanted to know what happened. As I was being honest with him, he was respectful and attentive to what I had to say. Due to prior engagements, Spanky fixed my hair today (5 days after contacting me). He was awesome. Not only did he fix my hair to what I originally wanted, but he also made the atmosphere comfortable and welcoming. I will definitely being going back as a regular customer.

He was very respectful and gracious. He fixed me up well and I am now extremely satisfied with the haircut. Amending my previous statement, Spanky‘s is definitely a place I would consider visiting again. Be sure to know what you are asking for and you will have a quality experience at Spanky‘s Barbershop. *Original Review: 2 Stars* So-so haircut, terrible price. I normally go to another local barber who charges $10/ cut and it’s much more well done than Spanky‘s. I thought I’d give the shop a try. I did and I will not be coming back.

Just went to Spankys for the first time. And was extremely impressed with how nice they treat people and how skilled Spanky, and his two other barbers are. If you want a cheap, terrible haircut, go to great clips or Supercuts or any other chain hair cut places. If you want a true barber and an incredible hair cut then Spankys is your place. The shop is super clean and very cool. It is worth every penny, the best part is the barbers really take their time with you, and pay attention to every little detail. reccomend setting an appointment if you can. But I walked in, and only had to wait 20 min. But it was a good time, bunch of guys just cutting it up. This is my permanent barber now after one visit
