UPDATED REVIEW: I just got a haircut here today, and it was the worst experience I've ever had at a barbershop. I don't remember the guy's name, but he was short, stout, and had a long pony tail. At first I thought the guy was just tired, but then he started acting really strange and unprofessional. I'm not sure if he was drunk and/or on drugs, but he could barely stand up. He was more attentive to whatever he was sipping out of his soda cup than he was to my haircut, and he kept picking at his teeth (chewing tobacco?). He was leaning against me and the chair all the time, almost like he was using me as a crutch to maneuver himself. It was very uncomfortable, and when he would press against my ear, it hurt. Judging by the way he was moving, grabbing onto my shoulders, and swinging my chair around, I really thought was was going to fall over any second and pass out. I should have called him out for his behavior, but I didn't want to question him since his coworker wasn't saying anything. Unfortunately, I gave him the benefit of the doubt and let him continue. I really should not have. The only reason why I gave him a chance was because my last visit to this place was impressive and excellent, and I didn't want to judge too early. I was wrong and I should have gotten up and left. The way he was cutting my hair was unconventional and imprecise. I felt like the shop just let a drunk guy in to cut my hair. He was going diagonal and every which way, and I could tell that it was all lopsided just by feeling the path that the clippers were going. He didn't ask a lot of questions about what I wanted and just did such a sloppy job. I don't think this guy knows how to fade and taper, or if he's even a licenced barber. The results looked uneven and embarrassing. He asked me if it looked good, and I said yes just so I could get up and get out of there before he butchered it any further. I didn't feel like being confrontational, and so I paid and left. His coworker should have at least chimed in and said something, but the whole time he did not. I was very disappointed and angry. I went straight to another barbershop right afterwards, and they cleaned me up right. Such a night and day experience. Because of this, I will never go back to Southland Barber Shop again, nor would I recommend anybody else go there. If you do, just make sure you get somebody other than the guy that I got.
OLD REVIEW: The cut was quick, efficient, clean, and precise. It came out very close to what I had in mind. I was thrilled to see that the barber understood what I wanted and was able to execute. I know I'll come back here again.
