Came in for the first time a couple days ago. I was immediately impressed by the sharp aesthetics of the shop and warm atmosphere. I booked an appointment with Julio due to the numerous positive reviews he has on here. I was a little unsure of what direction I wanted to go with my style and have been underwhelmed for years at various other shops. Julio was extremely patient, and not only did he help me feel comfortable about a plan, he essentially gave me a 30 min class on hair cutting/styling. It was fascinating to hear him explain exactly why he using a specific tool, or making a cut, every step of the way. I have never been happier with a haircut in my life. I've been coming to this shop for the past 6 months or so. I have to say it's probably the best experience I've had at any barber shop. I'm an extremely busy person and I don't have an hour or two to wait around to get a hair cut. This place is unique because they take appointments only. That is huge for me because I can book an appointment on their website, see the openings, and find a time that works. I'm in and out in about 20-30 minutes. Not to mention, the barbers are top-notch; they take tremendous pride in their craft. If you live in Louisville you must give this shop a try and put them on your list.

Handsome fellows is hands down one of the best Barber Shops in the region. I’ve been getting my hair cut here for well over a year now when I followed my Barber Branden Nichelos from downtown Louisville to Middletown. Finding and sticking with a barber you know and trust is a difficult thing to do. Once you’ve got that relationship though, one built on trust, brotherly love and respect, it’s similar to a relationship with a good woman you just can’t cheat no matter how convenient or novel. Don’t cheat on your barber folks. Let me preface this by saying I try to avoid leaving inside the Watterson if at all possible. But There’s just two main reasons I ever leave outside 264, to go to the gun range and to get my hair cut at Handsome fellows barber shop. It’s well worth it for me to make the drive to Middletown, 25 min there, 25 min back. If you live out this way and have just being getting MEH haircuts then check these folks out. I have also watched, the other barbers work and you can tell they know what they are doing with a modern guys cuts. There’s a lot of barbers and barbettes here in town who don’t have an excellent understanding of facial hair in their tool belts because they’ve been cutting old men’s hair for years. Not the case here. Branden has got one of the best beards around and is one of the only people I let touch mine for good reason. I’ve had my hair and beard cut by some of the best barber shops in Austria, France, Slovenia, Tokyo and many more... everything they gave me was ok but Branden just nails it. He’s got a good eye and steady hand. Once Branden knows your cut he also gets it all done quick. In my opinion a mans hair cut shouldn’t take 45 min to 1 hour. This isn’t the salon. I’m typically out in 20 min. 28 if I’m getting my nose hairs pulled. (If you never tried it then treat yourself, your girlfriend or wife will love it) The new location is absolutely superb I love the big garage doors and can’t wait to get my hair cut soon when the fall breeze is rolling through the big doors. The only thing I could say absolutely needs to happen is for that TV to get bigger. It looked huge in the old shop but looks tiny on the wall now, 82 inch tv needs to happen with DVD’s of strongman competitions on repeat so customers can feel the pure unadulterated masculine energy that is a barbershop. For me it gets 5 stars, 10/10, congratulations on the new shop folks and thanks for the phenomenal service!

Never mind the hype, this is a small homey shop. tucked in a corner of a strip mall. It looks like the kind of place that used to have copies of the Police Gazette to read while waiting, except that all haircuts (or beard trims) are by appointment on-line,and it's cash only. It's hardly imposing -- will never be the sort of place where you feel a need for a jacket and tie to get your hair cut. But -- it's comfortable, and the barbers (okay, Branden) are effortlessly excellent. They (okay, he) seems to intuitively know what to do for the optimum style, and doesn't make a fuss about it, This is at once the most comfortable and best shop I've been to in what feels like forever.

I never have once been disappointed with a cut from Ryan. My barber was Mike, he always does a outstanding job, he really takes his time too making you look sharp and ready to go. I’ve been getting my haircut since I was 15 when my parents use to take me. When I was getting older I hoped back a forth from barber and none of them got me together like Mike does. He is a awesome man and he does a excellent job. Thanks brother.

I am very particular about my haircuts and Julio gets it perfect every time even when I decide to try a new style. My hair takes longer to cut and Julio takes his time perfecting every last touch. He is very professional and delivers a top notch experience. The shop is fantastic and all the barbers are great and friendly. First time in the city and glad I found a great place on my first try. Went to Ryan the past two times and don't plan on changing it up. The building itself is very cool being in an old mechanic shop but refurbished. The prices are fair if not slightly below average for a good haircut.
