What a cool place. Jack was awesome and offered some great advice. The music was great, the entire experience was terrific.
Awsome barber
Extremely well crafted establishment! Quick, clean, and on point. Both barbers are collected craftsmen in every word of the art. Great place for getting ready for: -Job interview -Business/ Professional look -Significant other wants you cleaned up -Night on the town / date Will return. Pros- Fairly priced Quick Cons- Parking (honestly that’s it)
Excellent haircut and friendly service. Very nice shop, too. I highly recommend this place and will be returning. Thank you
Neat barbershop run by a couple great guys. Always impressed by the speed and quality of work.
Every man should have the experience of a barbershop like this one. Clean as could be, excellent, relaxing jazz, and Terris, who seems to approach good barbering as a science and an art. Establishments like this are rare - no bs, no huge wait. Serious men doing good work, at a very affordable price. Looking forward to a return visit. Thanks!
First thing i told the barber when i sat in the chair. “Dont touch the top, just fade up the sides.” I walked out of the shop with the top of my head short af.
Beard trim is always on point.
Nice shop and people! Will definitely use Tarris again when in the area. Thank you!
I asked for a low fade and a messy crop top but this dude gives me a crew cut. This dude needs to clean his ears. Like how are you going confuse a low fade and a messy crop top with a crew cut? Like come on now. Then he try’s to tell me it was miscommunication. I’m Hispanic and that felt a little racist. Never ever coming back to Cutman Barber shop in my life. At least the one in Covington. Ps: It was R.Jack who had ear wax.
Top notch. No better barbershop in the area. Great pricing. Tarris (sp?) is awesome. Super nice. Clean and cool shop. Great cut. Beard shaping is awesome here too.
Love coming here. Great atmosphere, great work from the Master Barbers
Fantastic experience. Best haircut I've ever had. If you dont go here you're really missing out.
This place is legit! Tarris did a fantastic job on my beard trim. This place has an old school feel but is fully updated and cool as hell. Prices are very reasonable and you wont be disappointed. I will definitely be back.
I don’t think I’ve ever gotten such a solid cut for such a low price. Good looking shop and nice dudes, to boot. I won’t get my haircut anywhere else now.
Awesome Experience
Awesome service
I wish I could have given this place 5 stars, but I can't. I took two days to cool down and reflect and my opinion hadn't changed. I went in and asked for "a side part with a skin-tight fade." I walked out with a quarter-inch "hard part," which was really a bald spot about an eighth of an inch lower than where my hair parts. Since Tarris never actually turned me around to face the mirror, I didn't realize how awful it looked until I got back to my car. I went back to ask for a correction and Tarris was gone to lunch. Jerod took my number down and said he'd call me when Tarris came back. 45 minutes later, no call. I called back and got, "He should be back soon, maybe 10 minutes." After 15, I got frustrated and drove back. Tarris was there, just relaxing in one of the chairs. He said, "When someone says, 'side part,' that's what I picture." Sorry, but maybe you should really communicate with your customers before taking a straight razor to their head. Now, Tarris did attempt to fix the haircut. It still looks pretty bad, you can still kind of see the "hard part," but it's tolerable until it grows out. He was also very friendly, very kind, and offered to return my money ("Sorry man. Do you want your money back?") I refused and he did not insist. Short of shavng my head, there was nothing that could have completely fixed my hair, and having $25 back was not going to make me feel better. Unfortunately, an attemted correction and attempted refund are not enough to warrant a good review, and here's why: When it comes down to it, this was the worst experience I've had in a barbershop, and I have to rate Tarris as a barber, not a person. The first clippers Tarris used felt like rusty old relics. They constantly pulled my hair, and he didn't seem to care at all. Everywhere he touched me with the straight razor, I bled like a stuck pig. I went home and had to wash out flecks of dried blood from my hair. There was rubbing alcohol on everything. He sprayed it constantly, not only on his tools but also on my head. Does he realize what that does to a person's hair? Oh, and remember all that bleeding? Imagine how that feels with rubbing alcohol sprayed on it constantly. After the fade and bald strip were done, that was it. He didn't touch the top of my head or even a if it was too long (it was.) As I mentioned before, he never turned me around to look at my hair in the giant wall mirror. No, instead he held up a dinky hand mirror such that I could see only my own left eye and all of his face. When I got home, I noticed tons of long hair around my temples, sideburns, and neck. There was a severe lack of attention to detail. Maybe I should have been more assertive and descriptive, but part of a barber's job is communicating with a customer to be certain they're on the same page. And I really shouldn't need to teach my barber the difference between a side part and a hard part or how to hold a mirror. I'm sorry that I can't recommend Cutman or Tarris. I really wanted to like it based on all the positive reviews, but it simply does not live up to its image as a trendy hipster shop for which one needs an appointment. I guess we'll both have to call this a learning experience.
This is a nice and clean place. But when it comes to your hair this place has one good barber and one bad barber. Just so happens the day i go I get the not so good one my hair is uneven line up is ~ and the side fade I don't even now how to take it
Tarris & Jack are two of the nicest gents I know! Their skill and conversation are the reasons I enjoy getting my haircut here!
Great haircuts for men
Nice place because it's only true barbers good vibe great haircut very reasonably priced very clean place
Jack is a great barber
Well I've officially found my barber!! Been to a few different barber shops and this one was by far the best!! Jack hooked my beard up and it looks amazing!! I know it's true cause my wife said so!! Lol but really he was very professional very nice atmosphere and all around very good experience!! Will definitely be recommending friends and family to Cutmans for sure!! Thanks again Jack very much appreciate the cut!!
Tarris truly is a master at his craft. I got a great haircut at a reasonable price, all while enjoying some friendly conversation. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town.
Snobs will never go back
I got my hair cut at this place and let me tell you I was impressed very skillful barbers here. I will be back not just for a haircut but also a nice bread trim next time. My wife was with me and even she was impressed with them taking their time making sure they gave me the best haircut. Stop going to those cookie cutter places where they over charge you for crappy 5 min hair cut that look good the day you got it to wake up the next day to not so straight lines. So go on and book an appointment you will not regret it trust me.....
Good Job Tarris! Cutman Barbershop is a nice and comfortable place where you will be the only customer to be taken care of at the time thanks to a really convenient online-booking-system (/!\ book at least 1 week in advance). Enjoy your time there! I truly recommend him...
Taris is awesome. Highly recommend his shop
I visited Cutman Barber shop today for the first time, Jack was my barber, I was skeptical because of how particular I am about my hair. Jack did a phenomenal job with my haircut, I've been growing a beard the past few months, my beard was totally out of control, he did an awesome job trimming that up as well. Jack was very professional and did a great job. If you're looking for a traditional men's barbershop this is the place for you, from the modern decor, and the old school barber chairs to the straight razor they use to finish up your neck line. I'm not one of those people that constantly leaves reviews but my expierance here today was awesome. I'll definitely be returning!!
Great cut, friendly, decent price
One of the best barbers and cuts I’ve ever had. Also had super clean beard trim with my beard-likes in mind. Personable guy. Nice place and location.
I'm new to the area and was looking for a good barber in the N.KY area. I searched google and cound Cutman a mile away from my place. The reviews are correct. Tarris is awesome! I'll be back.
Jack and Tarris are both great barbers, always get an ultra high quality cut!
Very neat and tidy place, they do great work and make sure you are happy before you leave! They also pay for your parking!
I'm 38 years old and just got the best haircut I've ever had. Super laid back and relaxing shop. Thanks Jack and Tarris.
Great place. Been meaning to come in for awhile and wasn’t disappointed. Wish they had more chairs. But the straightforward customer service was pleasing and enjoyed learning about the neighborhood.
Refused service 40 min before closing for a haircut not very professional
Tarris is a great barber and we've built a friendship over the times that I've come here.
Just got my haircut at the cincy location by the gentleman who cuts at the second chair. I asked for a fade just above skin, trim my beard and line it up. He gave zero attention to detail very timid just not a good cut at all. The guy at the first chair finished a cut while there and it looked nice! If I decided to return he will cut my hair not the other guy!
Been going to Cutman Barber to my guy Jack for a couple of months and don’t see that changing anytime soon. Their online reservation system is handy and there is just two chairs so there’s never a crowd or a wait. Plus, the conversation is great too.
My new place for making sure my hair and beard are taken care of! My future wife loves the way my hair turned out! I would say to please advertise payment types taken!
Cutman gives you a top notch cut for a very reasonable price. Calling these folks master barbers is no overstatement. Make sure to bring cash for your cut.
Absolutely killed it. Best haircut I may have ever had. I had Jack. Don't be afraid to give him a little discretion with your hair. I suck at describing what I want, but just tell him what you want generally or the kind of look you're going for and he'll take it from there. I've heard both barbers are great. Definitely stop by.
Great haircut, personable barber, good value, cool space. This is my go to place. Getting an appointment with a days notice has never been an issue. He is also one of the few barbers in the city licensed to do straight razor shaves.
Should have left a review a while ago. Great haircut with a very personable crew. Also worth noting, they use a straight razor on the edges and I've never had a sharper, fresher looking haircut.
Great place and quality service. Tarris was friendly and gave me a great haircut and beard trim. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends.
Great place, appointments are on schedule, my boys love the way Jack cuts their hair
The folks at Cutman’s do a great job. I have been going to Rick now for almost a year and he knows exactly what works for my hair and gets right to it. The atmosphere is always lively with conversation. I look forward to my trips there.
Simply the best haircut. He really knows how to interpret your description of how you want your hair to look into a great cut.
Overpriced hipster joint. Standard haircut was about $25.... The barber was incompetent using scissors and so the cut was rather uneven (good thing I have wavy hair to hide it). He didn't even trim my sideburns or around my ears so after a week, I already looked disheveled! What was the point?? He was kind, yes, but the overall experience and value of the service I received was not satisfying enough to drive me back to the store. I genuinely hope the store improves, or is able to offer other quality services and survive for the sake of the up-and-coming commercial community in the area.
