Had been struggling to find a place for my son to get his haircut since we moved into the area few years ago. This place is amazing. Each employee is knowledgeable and so far, they have been great with my son. I've watched them interact with their regulars and new walk-ins and each time, I've been thoroughly impressed. They are great with young men and little guys, lining them up or giving them something new and different. When you are new and scheduling an appointment, they're sure to ask if your child has ethnic or Caucasian hair to ensure that you are best matched with one of their barbers. My son is bi-racial and has big soft curls. They have done fantastic job of giving him cuts that are best for his texture and style. Check them out, you won't regret it!

I've been going here for over a year, and this is by far the best barber shop I've ever gone to. Evan is also the best barber I've had, and I never go anywhere else now. The atmosphere is great and has a much better feel than the franchised barber shops you see everywhere now. I gave this shop 3 chances to show me anything special. After waiting an hour today for a scheduled appointment over my lunch break I am done. A casual barbershop environment can be a great thing if that is how you want your customers to feel, but this shop took it to the extreme with lazy, care-free employees. If you like to wait inordinate amounts of time for an overpriced, mediocre cut, this is the shop for you. I'd try to visit now if you can, the lights will be off by next year. SMDH @ yall.

I kept my fade line for my comb over with my barber in Korea for over a year and a half, and yesterday after a messy fade, I asked the guy to try to make it a bit cleaner, then he took scissors and chopped a chunk of hair and that line is no longer there. But he would not admit to it. It's just a simple clean 1 clipper all around the sides, but it was so messy! After that he asked me if I wanted him to do anything else, I politely said no thank you and asked him to stop, then I paid him and even gave him a tip. Got home and spent a good half an hour trying to clean up the line and the fade myself. I even had to trip my hairline around my ears because there were random long hairs he missed. Not going back.

I honestly don’t know why anyone would go anywhere else. I’m upset I didn’t go here sooner. This is, hands down, the single best place to get a haircut in the Kansas City area. Call ahead and ask for Trevor. Make sure you allow about an hour because he will meticulously perfect your hair into whatever style you’re thinking and that inevitably takes more time and expertise than your 20 minute Sports Clips, Super Cuts or Great Clips cut that lasts 4 days. You will NOT be disappointed.

I live in Gardner and work in Lawrence so it's not exactly on my way, but I have tried several stylists in more convenient locations and Melanie is still the only one who gives me a great cut every time. What a great find! Me and my boys come in to see Josh once a month and have never left unhappy with our hair. In fact I've had several parents comment on my boy's cuts and ask where we go. Just a nice cool place to grab a GREAT haircut, beard trim or straight razor shave. All of the barbers are nice, chat with you, offer something to drink and seem to love giving great service. I am now going here because AJ (female) is cutting hair here. She is professional, remembers how I like my haircut and gets it right EVERY TIME, without fail. This is no doubt a solid establishment where not just anybody can work. The folks here know what they're doing. Can't believe I could have had this cut for $20 the whole time I've been paying $16 at garbage haircut chains. Great environment in the shop, and even though they were setting up for a special event, Tony made me feel comfortable and relaxed, and proved himself to be a darn good artist of the fade. I was expecting an above average haircut, but what I got what equivalent, if not worse to what I get at any generic chain. Also, it was $20 compared to $10-15 at most places. I don't know about all the hairstylists, but I would not recommend AJ (female).

First I'll say that I've always been a guy who didn't see the value in going to a proper barber or a salon just to get a simple haircut. That being said , I wish I had gone months, even years ago. I've had my eye on Purple Label for a long time. Just never pulled the trigger. Purple Lable is as fantastic as everything I have read and heard! They do employ the very best! I booked an appointment with Trevor, and I am now proud to say I have a barber! Trevor's experience and professionalism are top notch. He is well versed in old and new school techniques. I can without a doubt say that Trevor gave me the best cut and beard shape I have ever had. I honestly can't wait to go back. So if you are wondering if Purple Label Barber Shop is worth your time. IT IS! And if you want my advice, book an appointment with Trevor. You won't be dissatisfied!
