I first came to Jose back in 2014 with me and a friend. I drove two hours from Iowa to check this place out and we left with the freshest fades ever. I continued to go to Jose up until 2017 when I graduated college. I moved back to Texas but would still come up to Kansas City a few times throughout the year and would always make time stop at Jose’s. Jose and his staff are the perfect mix between down to earth and professional. This is the best barber shop in the whole Midwest and will continue to go to Jose’s every chance I get. Please try this place out!

Great place to get a haircut. Their popularity is picking up so sometimes if i dont time it right i end up having to wait a couple hours. Longest ive waited was 5 hours. So yea, bit of a wait time if you’re not there at 5 am lol but its cool though because you’re in a friendly environment. Most people talk to each other and have conversations that are worth having, plus reggie, and jose crack me up. Again the only negative thing is the wait but i can’t take away stars from a place just because theres a line to get in lol.

When I go get a cut I usually choose Great Clips or Sport Clips and I lived in Shawnee for about 2 years and passed by Jose Barber shop everyday. So I went in today and honestly the best cut I've ever gotten. The barbers were cool and watched Fresh Prince while I waited haha. This is my place now.

Walked in at 4:45 in the afternoon and didn't walk out till 7:30 PM. While waiting for a very much needed haircut, customer came in to yell at Jose over his employee whom gave him a bad hair cut. After getting my haircut by the same guy that was complained about, I now understand it was rightfully so. Terrible haircut! When he went to shave the sides near my ear he knicked me pretty good with the straight razor. Never again

I am 19 years young. I got my first haircut with Jose on Kansas Ave. Ever since been a loyal solid customer. Today, was the last day I ever go to Joses barbershop. In the middle of my haircut I asked Frankie how much would he charge me for a line up on my beard and indicated to me that they do not just line up the beard they have to do the whole treatment. He kept trying to explain to me how its business. I run my own store. The client is always right. You do what the client wants, the client is paying for what he or she wants. Not paying for what Jose wants. Jose, remeber how you got to open your new shops. Your original loyal customers.
