In 2009 I called 6 barber shops to straight shave my head when I was going through chemotherapy. I had almost given up but I made the call to D & M in tears mind you and the owner told me to stop in whenever I was in Derby. I did and this gentleman made me feel so welcome even when a few older customers(his Daddy's first customers) walked out or stared at me like I was crazy for coming to a "MAN'S SANCTUARY". He asked me if I wanted to share my story and I did. There were 7 people in that shop that day including the owner, my Momma and the owner. I would suggest this barber shop to any man. Thank you D & M barber shop for giving a lady her self esteem back!

Just went in, asked how long it will be and I was laughed at and told there are other people waiting and that he didn't know how long. So we waited 15 minutes and realized it's cash only -it's 2017, you need to accept credit/debit. No one swept up any hair after cuts -the floor was caked with haircuts from hours before. Filthy and the employee was rude. It was our first time in there and was looking to get my son's first hair cut. Never again and I don't recommend it. So unsanitary.

I've gone here for years. All barbers are decent, fast and friendly. It's walk-in service; first come, first serve, no appointments. Over 64 yrs of age you save a $1 during the week. I recommend this place. You might have to wait your turn but they have a TV on and magazines to read.

If only I could rate it 0 stars!! This place is a hit or miss. You're lucky if you get it cut right the first time but never know what to expect. And don't even try to question the so called barber "Terri" in this instance, or all you'll hear about is her 20+ years of experience. Terri cut my son's hair and it was all uneven. It was supposed to be a fade and it had long uneven hairs sticking out all over and it was clearly longer on one side. When I asked her to look at what I was pointing out, she wouldn't even bother to take a look. All she could say is "There's nothing wrong with it." And when she asked the other barber to take a look, he didn't even bother to see. WORST PLACE EVER!!! Now I have to take my son somewhere else to fix his cut. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND! And Terri, just because you have more than 20+ years experience, doesn't mean you can't make a mistake. If a customer tells you something isn't right, the least you can do is take a look and try to correct it. Own up to your mistake instead of being so defensive. No one's perfect.
