Went there because I needed a cut in a pinch. Nice clean place, friendly staff, and were able to get me in on a walk in. My low rating was due to...well just a bad haircut, I had done my best to explain what I wanted, a white-wall fade with a hard part. I left with half of my head shaved. Maybe I was just spoiled by my normal barber, but I left pretty embarrassed by what my hair looked like.

I have been going to Hawkeye Barbers for 2 years now and Mark has consistently given me the best haircut in town. Today I went in and wanted something different and he advised me to do a little something different from the new style I asked him to do and I love it. Friendly conversations and atmosphere. I would recommend this place to anyone in the IC area.

I've tried giving them a chance. Three chances actually and I have gotten terrible haircuts every time. They often leave parts uncut and do a terrible job "fading". I cut my hair most of the time and do a better job than these guys. $22 dollars for terrible cuts.

Always go here to get my hair cut in Iowa City, as a student it's a touch pricey ($25 after tip normally) but they're great at sneaking in appointments a day in advance or even day of and I've never left regretting my cut. Worth the extra money in my opinion, but I only get my hair cut once every 2 months or so
