Fine but not great. I got very fast service, which was nice. My haircut came out well, which is always the most important aspect of a barber. The actual stylist was sort of gruff. He didn't ask me what I thought about the haircut before styling it with WAY too much product, making it hard to tell him I wanted more off the top and some thinning done to an area. I wouldn't recommend this barber, but I also wouldn't warn someone away.

The person cutting my hair took one look at the reference picture I brought in for her and decided to do her own thing while completely changing my hairstyle in the process. She also drew blood while using the straight edge and failed to mention anything. One of the worst experiences at a barbershop I've had.

Every time I leave, I look and feel like a million bucks. If you're in a time crunch, make an appointment. They take walk ins, and you can get lucky, but on a busy day I once waited an hour as a walk in. They're that good. I used to bail out of cost cutters if the wait was longer than 20 minutes.

I was not expecting the careful attention to detail. Just passing through and needed a hair cut and beard trim. I didn't have to wait at all, got a well done fade with precise edging around the temples, then he faded my beard and gave it crisp edges with a straight razor. I was expecting it to cost $50, then I was pleasantly surprised when he charged me $27. They're a fun team that has a good thing going. I'd come back if I'm ever in the area again.

I really enjoyed coming here during my first few visits but over time the cut has seem to become a race to get me out of the chair as fast as possible. My last cut I was in and out of the place in 15 minutes and the barber spent 2 minutes with the scissors. Unsatisfying. I feel like it needs to be fixed.

They can get busy and if you don’t want to wait, make an appointment like you would for any other service. Plus they have beer so makes it even better if you do have to wait.

This might be long, but here you go. My son is 7 years old, has had 8 major surgeries, countless doctors and will have life-long medical issues to deal with. As if that’s not enough, he has two bald spots on his head north of his temples and somewhat minor plagiocephaly (his noggin is a bit mishapen). After several attempts to take him to a chain salon to get him a suitable haircut, we’ve ended with tears, bullying, lowered self-confidence and many Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber-type haircuts. After some very depressing failures of home-haircuts, I finally decided to take him to a barber and I am so elated with how he felt after. We missed our appointment and they still squeezed him in. *Extra points for that* He saw Cedric (who was kind, friendly, upbeat and very talented) and by looking around at everyone I feel confident he would’ve had a great experience regardless. He had just missed a week of school for medical reasons, and told me he was excited to go back to school on Monday... how great is that?? Sincere gratitude guys, you made our day and we will absolutely be back!

So when the owner opened a second shop, 5 seasons, it happened to be closer to my work so I can swing by over lunch and have Chris give me a cut. Ths atmosphere here was great ! The barbers here were very laid back and made you feel very welcome. Nice clean shop located in a nice area. However as far as my cut from Oscar went , I can’t say I was pleased, I asked for a bald fade which I received , but the cut was very uneven , didn’t cut off the top like I asked , and one side of my head that’s supposed to bald like the other side, isn’t. I’m not the type for any conflict so I didn’t even say anything. I just figured I’ll fix it myself when I got home. so I paid $22 for nothing. Needless to say if I decide to go back it won’t be to sit in his chair.

I've really enjoy coming here and getting my haircut but my last experience wasn't the best. My barber was too busy talking and on his phone than actually cutting my hair. And when I got home I realized parts of my hair were uneven. Some parts weren't even cut. I would've gone to Cost Cutters and saved a couple dollars if I wanted it to look like that. Unacceptable in my opinion.

I can't tell you how much I appreciate these guys! My five year old decided to try his hand at cutting his own hair and needless to say it did not go well. I talked to Jeremy at Five Seasons and it was a little after 5pm where they typically have a cutoff for walk-ins, but said to go ahead and bring my son in and they would take care of him. Got right in and salvaged what they could with the damage he had done. Definitely will be back!

My boyfriend had to get a haircut and beard trim here. 5 star rating...thought we would be good. Nope. Our guy was sitting with no one to cut....there was a reason. My man got a bad haircut. Way too short on top (long isn't 3/4 inch) but the mustache trim is what did it. OMG. Poor thing looked ridiculous when the guy shaved underneath his nose!? Ummm no. Didn't ask...guy just did it. My poor man was self conscious all weekend as it was the first time meeting my whole extended family and my parents 50th wedding anniversary. Simply put....ASK before you cut. LISTEN to what your customers say. DONT ever get your haircut by the guy sitting there. Wait for the guy that busy, cause there is a reason!

The barber I got doesn’t know how to do a taper, he chopped off all the hair on the sides of my head. I even showed a photo of myself with the exact haircut I want and he still messed it up somehow. Looks awful. They also use air compressors instead of blow dryers which looks cool but does an awful job, got hair all over my clothes and shoes.

Highly recommended this establishment to anyone looking for a great experience. Great conversation and they do outstanding work. Started going a few months ago and wont go or take my son anywhere else again. Everything from a great hair cut, tightening up my beard, hot towel and the straight razor cut it's just an awesome experience. Has an old school feel but a modern set up at the same time. They have a way of making you feel like a regular from the first time you walk into the studio. Chris is who I schedule my appointments with and definitely provides the clean & professional look that makes you feel like a boss after a good cut. Aside from the quality of their work all the barbers have an easy going and laid back demeanor which sets the tone and atmosphere that makes it so easy to keep coming back.

I was unable to go to my barber before I headed out of town and my beard needed edging. I found myself at Lindale mall and asked around for a barber shop that focuses specifically on beards. Once I was sitting in Zach's chair, I quickly realized he was incredibly professional and skilled at what he did. My facial hair is very difficult to groom due to being coarse and and Zach took the time and care to ensure the job was complete and looked great. I highly recommend the Five Season Hair-Beard Studio for an all-around great experience and quality finished result.

As a girl, I was super nervous about going to a barbershop for my pixie cut but I am SO glad I did!!! Cedrick did my pixie and he did it so well! I’ve been to many salons and they were never able to taper my hair the way I wanted it. Cedrick tapered it perfectly and I am in love with my new do! The price was incredible (a lot less then I pay at a salon) and I was in and out pretty quick. Will definitely be coming back here to get my pixie cut done again! Thank you Cedrick :)

After No shave November I needed to seek professional help with the mustache I'd grown that my wife swore was from 1978. I called them on a busy Saturday afternoon and they said they had a chair in just over an hour. When I arrived every chair was full - everyone was looking great. I told the barber I wasn't too sure about what to do with the goatee, and after talking through the haircut and facefur options, he set me up with a great look. I went in looking like a shaggy Zach Galifianakis and came out like a well-trained Brad Pitt. He didn't however keep the cut hair off my face while cutting, or getting it off before I left, and he missed a few hairs trying to hurry because the place was packed; I understand. Still not bad at all for a squeeze-in. Unfortunately, since the owners can't remove the "inside Lindale Mall" label from their Google page, and Google hasn't fixed the listing I was almost late. (They moved to a bigger location across the street.) Since this listing error almost made me late, I didn't have time for my complementary beer before the cut; but I'll be sure to arrive early next time. Google - you owe me a beer.

"...Barber shop." You know your in for an experience when you hear that over the phone. A stark contrast to how most businesses would respond. Refreshing to me. This is where I always get my hair done in cedar rapids. If you have only gotten your hair done by a place like sports clips or great clips, I would highly recommend trying five seasons out. The barbers are very good at what they do. They are good at cutting black hair (my step-brother is always happy with his cut). And I'm happy with the different types of fades I get (I have thin, blonde hair) The staff are also friendly and are willing to be quiet during your haircut if they sense you don't want to talk, but are more than willing to talk about whatever if you start the coversation. My brother with social anxiety backed me up on this, saying this is where he prefers to get his hair cut for this reason. You can also tell that the barbers enjoy their job, which I think is important. The only complaint I have and the reason I'm giving it four stars is the bathroom. It's ugly and unfinished, a plastic pipe sticking out the wall, and a toilet paper roll holder in the middle of the room. In the main area they present it as a very nice, kept up area, this is not like that at all. Also the last time I went in it had a bunch of hair in the sink... gross. Fine if it's on the floor outside, but in a place where it's supposed to be hygenic, not good. If I see an improvement here within my next few visits I will go up to 5 stars. I think the rest of this is great except for this. Overall I recommend, I just hope to see a change in this aspect of the business.

Every time I get my hair and beard cut at five seasons I leave happy. They do awesome work and I've never had to wait more than a few minutes when I have an appointment set. I think some of these negative reviews are probably people who are walk in's and have to wait just as they would at any other barber shop. Also I think some of the bad reviews over how their hair was cut, probably didn't explain how they wanted it done clear enough. I've been there 4 or 5 times now and have yet to have any complaints. Anyone thinking about going to this place, I'd call and set an appointment and you will be in and out quick, with it done right.

They did a great job with my haircut and cleaning up my beard a few days before my wedding. My appointment was with Kyle, who I've had a few times before and he has always done fantastic work. He was running a little behind with a prior guest, so I started off my haircut with Liz. She got me started up top, and then Kyle came in and cleaned up the beard real nicely. Chris then put on the final overall touches, so Kyle could get started on his next customer, which I had told them that was perfectly fine. The people are super fun, have great attention to detail, and set a homey environment. I promise you will fall in love the moment you walked in, I did for sure. I moved back to the Cedar Rapids area back in January, and I’ve been looking for a hairdresser/barber since then. I had come into Five Seasons about a month ago, and had my first experience there. I’m not sure who the stylist was, but it wasn’t my favorite session. I’ve had worse haircut experiences before for sure, but I wasn’t sure whether I’d be back again. Then a couple of days ago, a close friend of mine highly recommended that I go and see Cedrick. I didn’t exactly put two and two together until I arrived at the shop again. I had my reserves, but I thought I’d give it another shot. Cedrick is FANTASTIC! I now have “my guy” here in Cedar Rapids. He was conversational, humorous, engaging, thorough, and took care to make sure I was comfortable and enjoyed the entire session. Rest assured, I will continue coming back to Five Seasons as long as Cedrick is working there. Keep up the good work!

I would suggest with new clients you attempt to ensure the style of cut your providing is on track with what the customer wants. A line is a basic technique and even that was not done properly. Negative Experience!!
