Stopped by on a Saturday at 12:45, which is more than an hour before closing time, and I was turned away by the barbers. I was willing to wait as long as needed, but they wanted to get out the moment the clock struck 2:00. I doubt that any barber unwilling to stay possibly 20 minutes later to please a paying customer cares enough about my hair to do a good job.

Best men's haircuts in South Bend. $20 for a cut plus tip is hard to beat these days. Extra $5 for beard trim and line up. They also do full shaves if you're into that sort of thing, but not sure the cost ($15 maybe?). Sometimes you may have to wait a while, especially if they only have one or two barbers working, but it's worth the wait. If all 4 chairs are full, then it won't take long at all. Sit and chat or play a game of billiards while you wait. Cash only establishment.

Pretty nice shop always busy. Lines can be long and they do not take appointments. Nice guys ( only do men's style cuts to my knowledge) but a more customer friendly appt structure would make them more stars.

I'm only offering a star because they were kind enough to recommend another shop. I wasn't offended that they were not able to shape an Afro or do a high top fade. I was offended when they told me that they " don't usually do women." I said I only wanted a fade and they replied "but this is a barbershop" I actually teared up. Faded times, indeed.

Clippers only, they are uncomfortable and untrained with scissors according to the skinny guy who seemed to be running the show. If you want the sides of your head shaved by some smarmy dweeb pretending to be an old time barber, this is your place. There's only one lawyer in town with that haircut and everybody makes fun of him; it isn't me so I'm out of luck at this place. If it looked good, I would join him and ignore the critics, but it looks stupid.

I walked him through a Marine Corps regulation hair cut and now my guy has it down pat, along with a shave and the best part bar none - the hot towel - the hot towel gets you 5 stars if there were 6 i'd give you 6

PLEASE READ!!!!!!!!! I came in with mid length sides and long hair on top. I showed him a picture of a hairstyle with same hair length but with a low fade. the hairstyle was a foward quiff with a low fade. Apparently the hairstyle was impossible to do because i would have to get rid of a lot of length, even though the picture I showed him had long hair with a low fade. I knew I should have just left but decided to have my haircut there. Worst mistake ever, he was not kidding. I had a .5 all around my head styled as disconnected combover. It look like I had a tupee on my head. I could not believe it... even the "barber" cutting my hair knew he messed up and was hella nervous the whole time. I highly don't recommend coming here unless you want the generic high, high, HIGH fade combover style. Since then Ive watched youtube barbers and learned how to cut variety of hairstyies with different techniques. All of my clients left amazed and satisfied.

Classic is an understatement! Everyone that works there aims for purfection and in my personal opinion they succeed every time... All the barber's take their time to give you just what you want I couldn't think of a better place to take my boy's! You just cant beat the experience that Faded Times has to offer! Sad to see some of the one star reviews.. Everyone should base judgment off from their personal experience I say ignore all the comments even the five stars and go get your perfect hair cut today!

Today I visited FTCB for a #2 cut and a beard trim. There was no wait. My barber took his time, listened to my preferences and pulled off a nice cut and trim. I left the place feeling and smelling great (hot towel was nice). And the price was extremely reasonable for both a haircut and beard/mustache trim. Beware: Toxic Masculinity on bold display; not for those who are looking for a safe space or for whom masculinity is a trigger. For those folks I recommend they look elsewhere.

I was slightly worried about this place at first because of some of the reviews that said they don't use scissors. I was pleasantly surprised not only by how well they did without scissors but also that the barber used them where necessary. The haircut was top notch. I do wish you could schedule appointments but the haircut was one of the best I've received so if you have the time to wait, it's worth it.

Two young barbers that are very serious about their craft! Super nice guys that keep a light hearted atmosphere and always send you away with a great new cut. Be aware that it's walk-ins only, and sometimes patience is required. However, a free pool table is provided so it's kinda just a Cool spot to hang out!

Good service, good hair cut, good people. Haven't had the pleasure of getting a shave yet, otherwise I'd likely give them the full 5/5 stars. The few times I've had to wait, the wait was worth it. I highly recommend coming here for a good, old-fashioned barber experience with the modern touch.
