Great place to bring the family to get haircuts, friendly staff and family friendly as well. Places I use to take my kids was a mess adults talking very bad in front of my kids was wrong, but so glad we found Avon Barber shop, I even had my husbands hair and beard done up for his birthday there. Cash onlis the only issue I have but still a 5 star place. God bless them all.

Usually the wife cuts my hair, and when she doesn't have it in her (I'm military and anal retentive bout my high and tight) I normally go to Mac's in Wannamaker. However this is much closer to home and Bowser did a fantastic job. Didn't hurt that I'm also a Christian and so are they (proudly displayed). I know you want that last star... Mac's has the warm shave cream for that razor finish....oh so nice!

Went in on my lunch break, waited over a hour and no cut. It was really busy for some reason but making me wait and skipping over me, that made you lose a weekly customer for good. You can try to justify it all you want but that was total bullcrap. On top of that who the hell wants to wait over a hour for a 25 dollar cut plus tip.

My first time in a barber shop. I was a product of Great Clips and the like. I decided to change and stopped in. WOW! All my expectations were met and exceeded! ONLY con to going there is they are CASH ONLY. I can see where you can save money on not paying card fees as a business, but they do have an ATM in there and also have change to provide if you wish to tip your barber. I liked the atmosphere, they had TV on, on a large wall-mounted TV within view. They were very nice and funny. Will definitely be back again!

Went on a friday night after work, was charged $40 did not get cream, towel ect. Mustache and beard is crooked after trim. Learned my lesson. On top of that everything is crooked now I have to clean shave to correct

I’ve been in Plainfield for about a year now I’ve tried about 6 places just to see what was better I had the same lady cut my hair for 6 years so change was different but I walked into Avon Barber Shop to give it a try due to great ratings. and let me tell you the Atmosphere when you walk in is amazing super nice people friendly,helpful and informational and I described what I wanted and they cut my hair the exact way the lady that did my hair for 6 years did and I’ve never had that happen with the other places I’ve been to. I wish I knew the name of the guy that cut my hair because he deserves to be recognized for his outstanding ability to cut hair to such a precise request. :)

Tried these guys out for the first time. As soon as I walked in a barber was ready. Barber didn't rush my cut. And yes these guys use the straight razor to line you up. Took his time and I walked out with a great cut. Friendly guys with a nice barbershop environment. Will be going back.

A solid group of people work here. They like to cut up and have fun which makes the environment very laid back. You can be waiting for a bit on Saturdays but they are usually appropriately staffed. What has blown me away with this place is their love and attention to the children! Multiple occasions I have seen parents that bring their kids to the same barber and the kids love them. Its pretty awesome to see! About to move out of state but I'll always recommend this place. Zach and Jay are my favorites but all are very capable!

Horrible, expensive, and the hair cut I got is by far the worst I have ever had, he messed my face up and had to shave all my facial hair off, and still charged me for it.never did I get an apology or anything, he said I didn’t hear you..... but I showed you how I wanted it... I would never recommend anyone to this place

I’ve been going here since this place opened and I’ll never go anywhere else. I’ve pretty much used first available anytime I’ve been in and never gotten a bad cut...I can’t say the same for the other places around town. Only negative is that I have to hit the ATM before going because they are cash only. Also don’t go on Saturday unless you have 1 hour+ to kill waiting.

The social media accounts for Avon Barber Shop are a collective disaster. The Instagram account is without general information and content about the shop. There are not any photos posted of current employee work (only photos of other people’s work saved off of social media), however, there are multiple pictures posted of the shop owners personal vehicles i.e. a “slingshot” and progress photos of a motorcycle being worked on along with pictures of the owners family out at dinner. As a customer, I care more about the employees, their work, shop engagement, and events at the shop/in Avon, not how far along a motorcycle is in being rebuilt or where his family was eating dinner for the night. While he is the owner, the Instagram page just looks like a personal page for Dave Collins, not Avon Barber Shop. It just seems extremely unprofessional to anyone that views the pages. The Facebook account isn’t nearly as cluttered with unnecessary content but it seems as if the page is inactive. There are periodic posts but I wish there was more engagement with their followers. Avon Barber Shop is overall rated very highly and seems to please their customers with quality cuts but I wish the social media was more useful and efficient.

While the wait can be long (which I just think attests to how good they are), and it's a little high priced ( most nice things are lol) I won't take my 5 yr old son anywhere else! Nothing is perfect, but from the first time I brought him we have had nothing but great experiences. He has been seen by most of the barbers there and we have never had a bad experience. They are great at what the do and great with kids! The fact that they make it obvious that they love Jesus is just a plus

Worst haircut I've ever had and I used to get a haircut on a weekly basis. I went in and asked for a low fade and a little off the top. I ended up with a very uneven high fade and probably less than an inch of hair left on the top and a bald spot on the back where part of the fade was. I had to shave my head when I got home.

This place always has a long wait. I've never waited under 30 minutes for a haircut here. It's best to go weekdays before 4pm or when they first open on Saturday. Most of the barbers do quality work though.

I went in there to get my beard groomed. I met Jay. He worked like a magician on my beard, took time to understand what exactly i want, gave his suggestions as well and gave me exactly what i wanted. great cozy atmosphere. barbers talk to each other but they do focus on what they do so even if they are talking while working, do not fear as they are masters at what they do! will definitely visit the place again. I went there again for a haircut. I mostly do my haircuts at salon so i was scared a bit. Jay did an amazing job. he is very skillful and ambiance is constant entertainment. I will definitely go there again. I found my go to place. i am changing the rating from 4 start to a full 5 star

My son refuses to go anywhere but here! He says they cut his hair "so righteous"! LOL! So I take him here...but I have noticed a few things that separates this shop from any other shop around! As soon as we walk through the door, they know our names. When i walked in, i could immediately feel something different!!! There is a warming comradery about the shop. At 10 am everyday they stop what they are doing and join together in the middle of the shop and pray for everyone there! We need more businesses following this protocol! They will always have my business!

Took my 4yr old son in here today and we were in the chair within seconds of walking in! Amy worked on him and she did amazing! She was very patient and even tried making conversation with him (he’s shy). They also gave him a blow up monster doll and he loved it, he said he wants to go back! I’d definitely recommend going here if you’re looking to get a haircut for you or your child! Thank you guys for being so nice and welcoming. We’ll be coming back for sure!
