Review of the barber shop. Best haircut hands down. Dylan was super talented and professional. Came in from the hot sun overheating a bit and he made me feel accepted and comfortable the whole time that I could relax and let my worries go in the barber chair. I got probably the best cut off my life so I now know the hype. Worth every penny, even got a refreshing cerveza in the back while I waited. This shop is legit and I can see why Bryce Harper partners with them. 11/10 recommend.
Well executed concept with great atmosphere.
Great concept. Good music. Hard to order drinks.
Went on a Friday night - there was a 20 minute line at 12 that thinned by 1230. Very crowded inside with lots of dancing. Would go back.

Nice barbers, cool backroom bar but unfortunately a really bad haircut. The barber combed and cut hair with the assumption that it would always sit in that exact same position. If I now comb my hair in slightly the wrong direction or don't wear hair product it looks bloody awful. Not impressed.
In the back of the barber shop, you find yourself in a fun speakeasy space. Great cocktails, crowd is a bit young - 20's.
This place is behind the barber shop on 10th st. Good cocktails and a great place to take your friends if they want to experience a new york speakeasy. Try to go in early since the place gets crowded after 10pm
Decent drinks, but the place was a bit too crowded and the music was so loud that I had a hard time talking to people. The people out front also take their job way to seriously -- sure, this is a speakeasy, but you don't have to ask 20 questions before letting someone inside.
Always good music and a good time!
Show the staff a picture or describe what you want and they will do you right. Even the bald barbers can cut hair like beasts. Not overly priced at around $30 for a mens cut. You can find cheaper but you pay for what you get.
Average place. Felt too juvenile and the music was all over the place. Maybe just a bad night.
Best kept secret. I've only been to the one on the Eastside.
Late night hot spot.
The greatest behind the scenes during Fashion Week, but you better have your VIP Card or you won't make it past the door... Great Mixologist behind the bar!
Really good hidden club in the heart of east village!
Good drinks. Good vibe.
Great place. Amazing staff! I definitely recommend it!
Bartenders are not the must friendly but they know there stuff ! Go until 9:pm for half off cocktails ! Can also order pizza from the place next door ! It's really good !
Fun and chilled. Drinks were much cheaper than other bars and there was plenty of space. A pleasant surprise!
Great bar a few years ago. The crowd is changing a bit here.
First time going there, place was loud, packed and drinks were sub par. We spent maybe 30 minutes there. Another DJ had just gotten there and turned up the music but before you could barely hear above the chatter.
The place had a really cool vibe. It's cool to see a bar tucked away so damn well. Drinks are a little on the pricy side, even for the happy hour special though. With its laid back atmosphere, this is a great place to sit back and chat with friends.
Just a dark room packed with people. Nothing special.
This speakeasy bar becomes very crowded on Saturday nights. The place is small, the music is loud, which is good if you want to dance at some point of the night.
Chill spot to grab a beer, they do actually cut hair. The hair cuts are super expensive, I'll just continue to get my hair cut up in the Bronx. The bar is low key, but then again it is a speakeasy.
Awesome entrance, good drinks, fair price and no begging to get in.
Overpriced small place that can get a little crowded.
Does venue
Pssst, follow me through this secret door to a promise land of confident craft drinks.
Supposed to be kind of a speakeasy but I'm not a fan. Too crowded and a little pretentious.
Great barbershop with terrific barbers.
This place is the bzzz knzzz
Good bar, good cocktail. Standard. Nothing "explosive" today notice.
Not a review for the shop itself, but for the bar in the back room. A fun speakeasy to go to at night! One of the major plusses is you can actually still go to this one without making a reservation weeks in advance, unlike some other popular places in the area. And it’s not that expensive drink wise for what it is, one of the cheaper speakeasy options in the area as well. Plus it’s loads of fun!
Great place with one of the best cuts I have ever had!
Cool place! A speakeasy behind a barber shop with nice drinks!
How to get in: The facade of this bar is a barber shop. You enter through the barber shop, get ID’d, told the rules, get oriented with the exits and bathrooms, and let in into the dimly lit bar at the back.
Good cocktails, but you really want to go here when it's pumping. I've been when it as heaving and it was great - then went when late on a week night when it was pretty quiet - it doesn't have the atmosphere to have a quiet drink and chill out at.
Great for the late night dancing experience in East Village. The people here are all in it to have a good time, and in no ways pretentious. The DJs here are awesome and can really get the people grooving. Also, the cocktails here are on point and the staff looks according to their theme, a barber shop.
Feeling a drink? Go to “Blind Barber” maybe a haircut on the way out. Happy hour cocktails are $10.
Troy always gets it right and makes you feel at home.

Great venue with great music, have never had a better experience in a place called blind barber. You'll love it
Drinks were delicious and the music was actually good and had me dancing through the night. At one point there was a touch too much techno for my blood
Went on a Saturday night. Nice place but the music was all over the place. Transitioned from one genre to another horribly.
Great small barber shop. Plus you can grab a pint while you wait to get your hair cut if you want!
Blind Barber is an experience - a very decent bar and restaurant, with the real emphasis on a good blend of classic and modern men's barbering. The fixed rate deal (drink + haircut) is pretty good - and it certainly makes waiting for your appointment a lot easier. The bar selection is expansive for a barber shop, and comparable, if not better to the bars in the area. Generally positive experience with barbers; efficient and competent. Overall, would recommend it as a novelty experience, and certainly an option for long-term hair care if you're willing to schedule for enough in advance. Blind Barber has certainly done a good job of advertising and promoting, and it is quite well known - this means the staff is pretty professional, but also it is almost always relatively crowded.
So cool! Went for my Bday and loved the history of it.
Probably one of my fave places in the East Village. We came here on a Friday night, breezed right in without a problem - trying to act cool like I wasn't super impressed by the pull away wall at the back of the Barber shop (I was). The vibe is pretty much what you'd expect from a cool speakeasy; dim lighting, little booths to tuck yourself away into, a decent dance floor, cool tunes. Only downside was the wait at the bar, I mean c'mon fellas! I don't want to wait nearly twenty minutes just to get a drink... I'm parched from dancing and I want something delightful with all the whiskey and all the magic of whatever cocktail you can make with that, not having to wait being 'bros' ordering an ass load of beer.
Always go to a trusted barber you visit consistently
Horrible barber. Avoid at all costs.
Very clean and fancy
Very unique, laid back atmosphere with delicious & reasonably priced cocktails.
Very awesome. Loved the theme.
Small place, cool bar vibe hidden behind a barber shop. Great for drinks and a little dancing.
Great haircut, and great price (for the village). Staff was friendly, professional, and non-annoying. Can't speak to the bar/restaurant in the back, but I definitely recommend the barbershop up front.
Cool speak easy where you walk through a barber shop, so it's more about the novelty of doing that than anything. Drinks and scene is typical to any popular nyc speak easy (i.e. good), so if you're into them, try this one out!
Super trendy. Super crowded. Super Loud. You decide.
Great place with one of the best cuts I have ever had!
One of the speakeasies thats more crowded than you want it to be, became very difficult to move inside. The plus side is that its not just sitting around but theres quite a bit of dancing.
Bar can be hard to find at night but it's a neat idea having to walk through a barber shop to get to the bar. Great atmosphere but a bit small
Cool to attend once because it's a speak easy, but the place is over packed and hot
Cool place! A speakeasy behind a barber shop with nice drinks!
Great barber shop! They also offer free beer for the customers!
Are used to come here almost 5 years ago, and what it was then to what it was now… Won’t be coming back. It turned into some type of sterile bro bar, and that is personally not my style!
After an upper echelon college attending female with a much overkill highlighted nose was their new door person I knew the place had gone to hell. Watching the stumbling peeps roll out of there while letting friends come in through the exit door. Made me feel sorry for the few lined people that were kissing her a$$
Worse bar I've been to in a long time. Door guy hassled me for not having a reservation, after finally being let in and hassled by a secondary door guy, I found that the bar wasn't even full and drinks were highly over priced. If you're in the neighborhood looking for an honest drink and not getting hassled by door guys that don't want your business do yourself a favor and walk the The B side a few blocks away. If only yelp allowed you to rate a business with zero stars.
Cool speakeasy. Will def get a haircut there soon!
Must try speakeasy in the LES. Pricy in comparison to other speakeasies, but great atmosphere.
Been coming here for about 4-5 years and it's been the only place I got to for a hair cut. Has a great vibe, the barbers are great and friendly. The bar in the back is great and usually a chill spot to hang out in late night with some friends. Drinks are good and they have a good selection. Over all it's a great spot to either part or get your hair cut. Or both really.
Quick nice cut!
Very nice atmosphere. Warm and comfy. Cocktails are great. Drinks are a little expensive but normal for this area.
Very cool and not too busy place... reasonable prices and good coktails
Really great vibe
Justin cut my hair yesterday and what a pro he is! He used only scissors and cut my hair perfectly! If you want a professional who cuts great go to him asap!
Very cook speakeasy place. Back room turns into a proper bar after hours, great dj, interesting cocktails, we had a great night.
Yesterday we had an awful experience at this place. I was with my boyfriend and a group of friends dancing in a circle when the owner of this place almost started a fight with my boyfriend because I had my bag at the floor. I understand that a bar has the right to have their own rules but what I don't understand is why the owner of a place can act as a complete drunken idiot with his clients. We are not going to this place again and we do not recommend it to anybody
Unique theme but crowd makes it less enjoyable. Expensive
Got a hair cut and beard trim with Jeremy last weekend, his attention to detail and the overall experience was well worth the price. I can't recommend a barber shop more strongly, definitely my go to from now on!
Exceptional atmosphere during the week. A bit too crowded with kids during the weekend
Great drinks, "secret place". Beautiful environment.
Amazing entrance for a bar
I'd give this a 0 if I could. Great job by the discriminatory practices by their door. On a Saturday night I'm heading in with my girlfriend and the girl managing the door 1.) disregards us when we're next online for the group behind us and 2.) when she finally attends to us says that they are only "accepting reaervations at this time" - they just let countless people in ahead of us, at no point in time asked us whether or not we actually had reservations and gave attitude when I asked whether or not the 15 or so people she let in before us all had reservations. Never going back. Thanks for giving me a place to scratch off my list.
happy hour here is cool. 6pm - 9pm . just get here at 6 if you want to eat and have a private little booth. after 10pm this turns into a cool little dance club type of scene. Get over yourselves. THis is a speakeasy with a club feel loud music. I didnt even get in, the guy at the front said "were only taking people with reservations" whats so great in here.
Has the potential to be super cool, but as other reviewers mention, the speakeasy vibe is ruined by having bouncers and a roped-off entrance. Atmosphere inside was very much Meatpacking. Music selection was bizarre. All in all made for a somewhat anus experience. So they've embarrassed themselves there.
Fun speakeasy has a nice atmosphere in there.
Cool underground bar. I was here for an event and felt that the whole ambiance went very well with the east village vibe. To start, it was super cool to walk into a bar through a barber shop. Bouncers seemed very on point in keeping the bar doors closed to keep the street crowd from peaking into a secret bar. The waiters were nice and dressed very east village, along with the hipster crowd hanging around the bar. A man at the lounge table rolled cigars in front of you, one of which you could keep for yourself. Overall, if you are looking for a not-too-crowded speakeasy, it's worth checking out.
Pretty cool dance club behind a barbershop. Better if you are in your 20's. Gets busy AF on Friday night. Party time!
Troy is the man. Best haircut in the east village.
Crowded, lively vibe with young crowd. Tasty cocktails. Fun surprise entryway. Few places to sit.
Awesome vibe and great bartenders, definitely worth the trip to this east village hotspot.
Fun concept, great staff. Came in as a walk in and was able to get a hair cut as soon as 30 min after walking in, had a complementary drink that comes with the cut while I was waiting.
Cool concept, good music
Good cocktails and good ambiance, safe spot to go if you don't really know where to hang out in the east village
Great barbershop, and cool bar at the back. Can't go wrong.
It's one of those "secret" speakeasy bars that's hip right now. Spoiler alert: if you have a bouncer and a rope line, it ruins the secret vibe. Chill place inside with okay music and average priced drinks. The bartenders could stand to be a little more enthused and efficient.
Great drinks
Unique, but very crowded.
bad barber, he was blind and also drunk!!
The speakeasy idea is cool, but the place is crowded and small and doesn't have a lot of seating.
Great location, friendly people, affordable haircut.
Got denied access because I'm Latino. They had no say as to why I got denied. Till I said that I was Hispanic. Then they stayed quite
I love the speakeasy-ness of the Blind Barber. There's a working barbershop in the front! I've only been to parties there but they've all been amazing. The bartenders are fun and more than capable. The diversity of cocktails are great and strong enough to have you stay within your budget. Take some friends and make a night of it.
nice speakeasy behind barber shop. good for dancing and great cocktails
Totally shitty service at the barber shop. Waited an hour. When they were done, the staff proceeded to ignore me while they texted. When I asked for a cut, I was told only then that it was appointment only and they'd finished for the day. I asked if they could make an exception. I was turned away. At least put up a sign or ask people when they come in if they've booked.
Super cool speak easy in a great location. Drinks could be a bit pricey and may require a long wait at the bar, but definitely makes for a fun night out !
Nice quiet place. Liked the lion's tail. Would go back again.
Great music
Great moody little spot.
Awesome team! Wonderful memories!
Excellent place that a local recommended and it didn't disappoint. Like going back in time.
Great shop even if it's called blind, they see very well... ;)
Julian gave a great experience.. I’m a barber from Atlanta and had to check this place out.. welcomed in with a nice glass of Old Fashioned.. get seated in the chair and had some fun conversation and relaxing jazz playing on the speakers.. one of the other barbers did me a favor by taking a picture to capture this relaxing moment.. definitely will be visiting here again when I’m in town.. Great old school feel!
Pretty cool dance club behind a barbershop. Better if you are in your 20's. Gets busy AF on Friday night. Party time!
Unique, hidden...super dark and can get crowded
Such a cool hidden bar! It is a bit Frat-isj at times but its overall fun!
Cool speakeasy. Dark and loud inside, not very big.
Cool space. Rough staff, place wasn’t busy and the bartender just ignored all four of us
Mixed feelings: barbers are some of the best in the city while the drinks are becoming worse. Always packed in the weekend...And the restrooms suck
I never had a problem getting into this bar, I just didn't like the bartender and how you have to wait a while to get a drink. I think that the service could be a lot better. I will say they play amazing music in here.
Speakeasy club hidden behind a barber shop! What a gem, great music and cocktails!
Rustic look modern service (good bartender). Music is cool, DJ gives off good vibes and very original speak easy style.
Classy
Bartender was very unenthusiastic. Didn’t even make eye contact to take my order. He looked like he hated every second of his job.
Best cut I ever got, price reflects the quality
Awesome cocktails!! Ask for the dealer's choice if you are adventurous. Thou shalt not be disappointed !!
Barbershop with the bar in the back young crowd is okay sometime the strict on the door
I didn't get my hair cut but the bar was amazing. The bartenders skills , amazing the size of the place...too small
Great haircuts. Fun cocktails.
Probably one of the cooler "speakeasy" bars I've been to in the city. The cocktails are solid. It is really a barber shop during day and bar at night. The velvet rope for "exclusivity" is a bit much. Would be 5 stars, if they didn't have a velvet rope exclusive feel at the entrance around 10pm.
This review is for the barbershop only. Service has always been stellar and attentive without being stuffy. Alex is great. It's pretty no frills which is great for me. Go in, drink a beer, get your haircut, leave.
After relocating to NY, I cycled through 5 barbers and hairdressers before finding *my* barber at Blind Barber. The location is swanky and bougie (in the basement of a Barney’s) but the service and prices are down to earth. I’ve come back here to my barber 5+ times and have always been able to book a chair in the early evening. I recommend!
Cool vibe, nice atmosphere, great haircut at an affordable price, amazing team too

An incredible speakeasy with incredible drinks
Wanted to try their products until they tried to actively silence me for a joke on their Facebook ad, and I don't support or promote companies that don't support free speech in America lol
Cool concept. Enter through a barbershop...but that's the extent of the good. The floor was super sticky, can't dance if you're glued to the floor. Music was stuck on regaeton for the longest time...might be personal opinion but we didn't go to a Latin Club. Change up the music every few songs, pls!
Sticky floors. Wasted guys with button downs. Bouncers who use the phraae sand ni**as. Would avoid this place just because the owner treats others very poorly and lots of underage drinkers.

Blind Barber is probably one of my favorite bars to take out-of-towners. Why? 1.) You enter through the back wall of a barber shop. "Wah??" your guests will say. "You're so cool!" your guests will exclaim and forever hold you in the highest ranks of cooldom. 2.) It's the easiest speakeasy to get into. You want to get a party of 5 into PDT? Don't make me laugh. 3.) The drinks are good and speakeasy priced. Don't bother coming here if all you want is a vodka soda. Girl please, if you want to cut down on the calories, don't go for the halal cart at the end of the night. 4.) You like a chill intimate place? Come early. You want something a little more popping? Come later when the place becomes packed. There's a little something for everyone.
Drinks were good, but I've had better. Went at about 8:30-9pm on a Thursday, so it wasn't too crouded. We got seats at the bar fairly quick. They were setting up for the dancing as we left with the DJ all ready at his little station. I don't think I would have wanted to stick arouns for that anyway, but that's just me. Others may like that. Wasn't too speakeasy like with the door leading from the barber shop to the bar was constantly ajar, and at about 9-9:30pm, the bounce was stationed outside like it was a club. I thought the point of speakeasy was that it wasn't recognizable from the outside as a bar or lounge?
They make a killer cocktail! drop in !
Great pub . An old speak easy that looks and is a barbers at front but inside behind large sliding doors is a great atmosphere
Cool vibe, nice atmosphere, great haircut at an affordable price, amazing team too
Pretty cool find, good drinks but also clubby vibe
The unexpected behind a door
Behind a little barber shop that looks like nothing. Has great music and pizza to order as well as drinks. Cute vibe!
Great, friendly staff!
Cool place but the bartenders have zero tolerance for any questions, and believe me when I say I'm not the annoying type... Felt almost like I need to kiss their hand for them to even look at me...
a barber shop with a spacious bar inside to hang out.. great speakeasy spot..
contrary to their name, their barbers all have above average vision.
Cool atmosphere, speakeasy behind a barber shop, good drinks and pizza, spacious
Not your typical speak easy
Great atmosphere but we didn’t really like the cocktails.
3.5 ish. This place is alright dependent on what day/time you come in. The obvious Saturday nights get crowded as crazy ... I would bounce real quick once I see a riot like one I witnessed. Came again to give it one more try on a Monday early evening and it was really quiet. I was surprised we even got a seat. Bartenders are OK and drinks are OK ... The cool factor is just coming through the shop but other than that, its alright.
Pretty Pricey But The Idea Of It Is Really Cool
It was my goto when Rob McMillen was managing the spot, but it's not the same experience getting my barber's cut anymore.
The exterior definitely creates a speakeasy feel that is really clandestine and mysterious! Great cocktails and specialty drinks.
Dylan is excellent. He's a really cool guy to talk to and did a fantastic job in my hair. Plus, having the bad in the back is huge benefit.
Good cut plus drinks
Great barber shop! Mark Davis made my visit a great experience.
Best haircut
Beyond cool. Speakeasy style. Good drinks and atmosphere. Great shabby-chic Melbourne-esk decor. Great experience for anyone. Does get very busy on the weekends. Be ready line up if you're fashionably late
Cool bar/lounge, with great vibes but nothing too hyper. A great change of pace from the big clubs located in Meat Packing. In addition it has a “secret” entrance which is nice simply because its something different.
The Barber Julien has really great energy. The lounge in the back is cool to get a couple drinks.
