What a trip! Being in Boise for a month, I needed to find a barber. The Internet presence of Barbiere DeVino is well managed so it's easy for an out-of-towner to find and a snap to make an online reservation. The interior of this subterranean shop is covered with posters and pop culture memorabilia while punk and rap flow from the speakers. Retro barber chairs complete the eclectic and urban feel to this gem. Chris Devino -- the owner and principal barber -- is an engaging emissary for Boise and a meticulous barbering artist. Loved the cut and loved the experience!

Men!! Do yourself a favor and read this. If you live in the Boise area, check these guys out. This place has the most amazing and unique approach to offering not just a barber's services but a full blown experience. Just look at their website. They are bringing back the barber's experience most men today have no idea existed at one point. The vision of the owners was executed immaculately. The guys here are genuine in conversation and pay meticulous attention to detail when performing their services. And get this. You are offered a complementary beer or water with every haircut. That may not be new but it sure is icing on the cake for one hell of an experience. Get in there and see for yourself why soon enough you will not be able to get an appointment.

I had Justin who was great. I don't usually step out of my comfort zone when getting my haircut, but I was looking for somewhere closer to downtown Boise to get it cut at and also somewhere local as well. It took roughly an hour to get my haircut, but that was okay because my hair can have issue sometimes, haha. If you're into local barbershops who actually use straight razors and who take their time cutting your hair, go to Barbiere Devino. Recommended 5/5.

The EXPERIENCE and ambiance of this Gentleman's Barbershop is unparalleled or unrivaled in Boise. To find someone and/or a space to provide a proper cut is hard enough to find but add in that the barber uses a straight razor to attend to even the smallest of details and you have a fantastic cut, shave, and trim. The space is decorated like an authentic barbershop used to be and reminds me of a 1915-1920's look with fantastic eclectic artwork adorning the space with easy listing music and good conversation from the lead barber Chris. The prices are affordable, and I walked out of there paying $10-$15 for my haircut with the tip included. Its really amazing because its about 25% and cheaper cost wise than most barbershops around. I've met some fantastic people that were waiting for a haircut while I was there and it gets even better when you can pass the time with great conversation with any of the barbers there. At Barbiere DeVino its more than a haircut its an experience and with the barbers that work there and its more like getting a haircut by a good friend than one of your more run of the mill barber locations. It truly is something from the past where quality service, professionalism, and atmosphere make that place so special. This will be my new barber hands down and I look forward to getting my haircut at this fine establishment. I support small business and it doesn't get any better than a barber who is a small business owner that can send it right back back into the local economy. I support Boise, Small Business Owners, and Great quality of service should be rewarded. I will support Barbiere DeVino because I have yet to find anything similar outside of NYC itself; and the experience warrants me to make this part of my new routine and as my new barbershop. Chris you do wonderful work, and I'll see you in 2 weeks! Your bringing back how a barbershop should be and reminds me of the good ol' days and I'm glad to see an authentic barbershop in Old Boise where it properly belongs.

This is the best place to have your haircut or beard trimmed period. Matt, Chase and Chris are straight up wizards at what they do. Chase took care of my needs with ease and treated me like I have known him for years. This place has good atmosphere, good music and just overall looks cool. Yet the barber skills are mediocre. I've gone twice and both times explained that my hair has a cowlick in the back and to not go short in that area, due to the hair wanting sticking straight up... both times, either the barber didn't understand, or completely ignored my concerns, and cut that area of my hair so short, that I'm now dealing with an alfalfa style peice of hair that doesn't lay down, very frustrating. The experience was good, yet for $20, very hard for me to want to give them another try.

Best barbershop in town. Love the independent vibe. Don't come here if you can't stomach the idea of punk music possibly coming on while getting your haircut. For the rest of us, thank you for not being like Sports Clips or Super Cuts. Best haircuts in town. Chase is not some guy who cuts hair, he is a professional that genuinely cares about the craft and making sure that you look good when your done.

Wait. You are not getting your hair cut at Barbiere DeVino? Then you obviously have no interest in looking like anything but average. Or worse. This traditional men's barbershop specializes in men's hairstyles both past and present, but adds a dash of bad ass, with a razor finish. So if you are not getting your hair cut by Chris, Matt, or Chase then I hope you are keeping your backward-facing hat handy to hide that atrocity that you got at Great Clips or Sport Cuts. I choose Stronzo, or nothing at all.

I went in knowing exactly what I wanted; an inch off the top with a taper fade. Matt started off trimming my sides, then around the edges with a straight razor. When it looked like he was cleaning up, I asked that he take some off the top, like I originally wanted. He insisted, "I already did, you just didnt notice when I was trimming," and although I argued that my hair was the same length as when I walked in, I was met with more disagreement. I felt like I was being rushed out with minimal effort on the barber's part. If you like pretentious people and mediocre haircuts, this is your place.

Overall, the atmosphere of this barber shop is incredible. Its like you entered a punk-themed interpretation of Sweeney Todd. The Barbers always make me feel comfortable. I just had such a great experience with Morgan! I was so nervous because this is the first time I've went to a new barber/stylist in 10 years. I do not have a simple haircut - and he rocked it. I have cowlicks and an oddly shaped top to my head, and he didn't even bat an eye. He was cordial, engaging, and very confident - which directly translated into this haircut. The shop is a bit of an oddity but it is so cool in there. Quite clean, considering they are located in a 100+ year old building. I would recommend Barbiere DeVino - especially Morgan - to anyone looking to enhance their image.

To anyone reading this review, heed to my words! This is the best barber shop I have ever had the privilege going to and have received unparalleled experience and service. Whatever the price is, just shut up and go in and do yourself a favor! Price aside, which I wont even get into because for what you get at Barbiere Devino is the experience that will leave you wanting to come again. Its one of those "shut up and take my money" kind of experiences. I used go there every two weeks and had an amazing time with Chris! Attention to detail! Professional demeanor and atmosphere that is quite addictive! Very modern take on old-school service. I moved away to another state and I wish I could have taken them with me!!
