What a fun atmosphere! I was welcomed right when I walked in and was asked what I wanted to drink. My stylist was Tannis and she was awesome. She asked and followed through on what I wanted done with my hair. Tannis is very personable and got to know me and made me feel as if we’ve been friends for years. I've only ever had positive experiences at Locals. Everyone I've interacted with had been friendly and full of great advice. I'm one of those terrible people who come to a salon and ask for "a hair cut" without much more direction than that... Tim helped me out by fixing my terrible overgrown mullet-pixie cut, talking me through every step and explaining his style suggestions. I would definitely recommend him, but I'm sure all the stylists are wonderful. They also have great beer by Pikes Peak Brewing Company! What more can you ask for?

Would give less than one if I could. Scheduler totally screwed up my daughter's appointment and they scheduled someone else after so there wasn't enough time to do what was requested and should have been scheduled. So they told me they could do the cut but not the rest, we could reschedule for that. The right thing to do would have been to cancel the next appointment they had scheduled in error. My daughter was extremely disappointed. Wasted my time. Don't let them waste your time. Look elsewhere for good customer service.

Hey guys, it’s Madison, one of the employees at Locals. You may have read my name in one or two of these reviews. If you’re conflicted as to if it’s actually worth visiting, personally, I’d say yes it is! But here... I’ll give you the inside tour. From behind the chair, I know who is in the chair next to me, and at Locals, I know that every single person behind the chair has got my back. I love them all. Some come and go, but hey, a small local business has a lot to deal with people, and as anybody who works behind the chair knows, you can’t please everyone. I have been a stylist here for a year now, I’ve seen the bad reviews, I’ve heard the negative and unhappy comments personally. But the owners do an excellent and mature job handling the negativity and the rest of the BS that business owners have to deal with. They ask us, as a team, to respect each other and speak well of former co-workers. They encourage us to better ourselves in our profession. They take time to get to know us personally. Let’s be honest, running a business is hard, nobody is perfect but they extend a lot of grace to us and so, they deserve understanding and grace too. And if you are one of the brave souls to get to the end of this novel long review, I say it’s an excellent and honest place of employment, and quality place for an excellent haircut. And if you have ever given me the great pleasure of allowing me to cut you hair, I thank you. I appreciate you and want you to know that you are the reason I love going to work every day.

I got my hair colored and cut. At first it was a bit scary because there was a lot of brassy color or orange with my underlying pigment, but I went back and asked the to tone it down. They were really nice. I think waking up today and doing my hair, it is a lot better. A huge change, but with a fresh blow dry and curl I’m ready for the world and I’m excited about the new hair! Great place for guys to get a haircut, they offer skin fades, warm towels, and head massage. The beer or wine while you wait is a great bonus! They do a great job on women's hair as well but prepared to pay a pretty penny, if you plan to color your hair it is more expensive that most other places they offer a free 15 min. Consultation so make sure you do that first.

My 13 year old son calls for an appointment at 5:45 PM and he is told that he has to pick 5:30 or 6:00. He unfortunately picks 5:30. We arrive at 5:42 PM and we are told that we have to reschedule because we are more than 10 minutes late and that there are no more walk ins or appointments available today. Keep in mind that we have been here at least 15 times and never been late. Over sitting in a couple of barbers chairs talking, not with a customer, are 2 stylists. Apparently they were not available! I understand that the stylist needs to be available for the next appointment, but I can’t remember a time that my sons haircut took more than 15 minutes. So I spend 40 minutes in the car one way and drive to get my sons haircut for nothing. The amazing thing is that over that 2 minutes it just cost them all of my business about $250 a year. It is not the policy that is my particular problem, it is the overall way that it was handled. I wonder if you were to show up and they were running late more than 10 minutes if they would give you a free haircut? By the way the answer in NO this had happened to us one separate occasion. We were offered an apology in that case.

I went from having long shaggy hair to cutting it short and she did an amazing job. She knew exactly what I wanted AND gave some great tips on how to style it and how short to go. This is more of a review on the owner, the male who owns this place is like lipstick on a pig, anyone reading this be sure to tip the stylist good because while the store makes a huge profit on haircuts the stylist get shafted on their earnings, one of many reasons why they have a high turnover rate of stylists, they've had almost 10 people quit this year, and for good reason. Tip the stylist good, all of them are really great.

I would not even give zero to this place. Overpriced, if you are charging $29 for a haircut; then at least it should be done nicely. While finishing the haircut, I got cut in the back of my head. When I asked the guy who was doing it, he told me it is small cut. In fact, it was burning a lot. When I was in the middle of the haircut and telling the person about how I want my haircut to be; then I was told that let me finish it first because we have a lot of customers today. So, I can not just say it like this. After charging $29 bucks and cutting someone's skin. Please learn your skill and then say that you want more customers. I do not know the name of the person who did my haircut, but he was bald. To the management, please hire someone who knows what they are doing; otherwise no one would come. I agree the fact that anyone can do the mistakes but then do not give excuse that you have no time since many customers are there. It would imply that you are interested in getting quantity of customers, but not in the quality of haircut. Not coming ever again.

I just left this shop, and I have to say I feel freaking gorgeous!! I'm a guy with long hair and that always seems to be a problem at the barber but not here. I was helped by this bad ass chick named T-REX, she trimmed me up just right and then even took the clippers out on my beard AND scissored my bushy ass eyebrows! I've been going to the same stylist up in Denver for over a decade but couldn't make it this week... Was a little worried about trying someone new, but ABSOLUTELY not worried anymore! I will definitely be back, and you can bet your bacon I'll be asking for T-REX! She made me look damn good

I'm kind of shocked at the unprofessionalism of the management here. I walk in on Friday to turn in my resume, talked to Atienne, the manager, tried to show him my portfolio, though he insisted he didn't need to see it, and said he thought I seemed like a great fit and would like to offically interview me on Sunday. On Saturday I realized he never gave me an official time to come in for the interview. So I tried calling multiple times to see what time he wanted me to come in on Sunday, because I didn't want to just show up whenever and appear as unprofessional. He never got back to me. So on Sunday and Monday I tried calling, still, never heard back from him, and suddenly get an email that said they rejected my application, which confused me, since before he said I seemed like a great fit and wanted to interview me. I call yet again and finally speak to Atienne and asked why this was. He claimed he spoke to my references and that they said I have a bad attitude and needed to work on my cuts. Which I know is a lie because: 1. I didn't put any numbers for my references, just the names of where I worked, and they are all franchises, so unless he called every location, I doubt he spoke to them. 2. I called up my previous manager, and he himself confirmed he hadn't spoken to anyone asking for a review of me as an employee, and stated he had nothing bad to say about me regardless. To top it off, Atienne tells me he doesn't "like the way I handled things", I asked what he meant by that, and he said that he disliked that I called multiple times. I explained that I called multiple times because I didn't know what time he wanted me to come in on Sunday, to which he said, "Oh." So, Atienne, I would like to state that I don't have a problem being rejected to work here, as I do understand that sometimes people just don't get a good vibe from someone, and that is completely fine. What I do have a problem with is you lying to me and claiming I had bad reviews from previous employers when I know for a fact that is a lie, as every manager I have ever had has told me I'm "one of the best employees they've ever had." And then you continuously claiming I need to work on my "cuts and attitude". I'm not saying I know all there is to know for cuts, but I do know my cuts rock, and you would know that if you would have looked at my portfolio, so don't lie to me and claim my cuts to liveup to standard. As far as attitude, I never gave anyone any attitude, and in fact I apologized multiple times to front desk for having to call them so much to speak to you. Finally, I don't understand your problem with me calling. I understand that most millienials can't be bothered to call potential employers, but to me, I prefer to be old fashioned and to me it shows dedication and motivation to work. My constructive criticism is that you shouldn't lie to people and claim they got bad reviews, and repeatedly tell someone their cuts aren't good enough, especially when you haven't looked at my work or even spoke to anyone who could confirm the quality of my cuts. It's just not professional of you. Lastly, thank you for showing me how unprofessional and dishonest you run things. Now I know what place to avoid. Response to the reply: I assure you, it had nothing to do with timeline, and everything to do with the false claims you made as well as the unprofessional behavior you demonstrated to me, it assured me that indeed, my morals and ethics are different from yours.

This place is awesome! I live out of town and I could never find a barber that I felt could do what I wanted. I talked about this with my girlfriend, who lives in Berlin, and she googled this place and suggested I make an appointment with Jeff specifically. I'm so glad I did, because Jeff and his coworkers are awesome! I told him about how I learned about this place, and Jeff asked the owner, Etienne, to come over and hear my story about how this establishment reached us. They were both thrilled that even from all the way in Berlin they were attracting customers. The haircut was great, the free locally brewed beer was delicious, and the service incredible. Trying to find a barber shop that fits the needs of today’s style and culture is already hard enough. When I found first found out about Local’s I was excited. After their services I was sold. However, after today’s experience I will no longer be using Locals as my to go barber shop. It all started today when I called in to make an appointment for razor haircut. It was set for 4:15 in the afternoon. I work on the other side of town on S. powers. I left work early with plenty of time as a contingency plan, it being a long weekend. The navigation system in my car informed me of unusual delays, so I called Local’s and told them of my set back. The receptionist asked what time was my new arrival time and I told her it would be 4:24 she responded “it was fine”. Upon my arrival at 4:24, I’m greeted by whom what I presume is my barber. She tell me she has plans at 5PM and can longer cut my hair. I explain to her that I called in and they said “it was fine”. I also convey to her that I’m part of a wedding party and the bride specifically requested razor fade haircuts for all the guys in the wedding party. She then said she could re-schedule me for another day? But nothing could be done today! I informed her that the wedding was out of state and I was leaving early tomorrow. Indelicate to the situation, she said “your late and there was nothing I do for you”. While so, a black lady was also there and she also emphatically expressed that “adhere to strict late policy”. Well let me be very formidable when I express this, I will no longer be using Local’s as my to go to barber shop! I would not recommend this place as they are indelicate to their customers.

Melissa cut my hair and did one hell of a job, see for yourself and this is a week and a half later. Of course, my hair is maintenance. I can’t vouch for every stylist or barber there, but if Melissa is representation of the quality that Locals provides, then I doubt you can go wrong. I was hesitant to go at first because I knew their prices were a little higher that I was accustomed to paying. I'm a cheapskate when it comes to my hair and usually refuse to pay prices over $15. But I've come to realize that you get what you pay for. I walked in and got a stylist named Sam to cut it. She nailed it right off on the first cut. My hair is a bit tricky especially for somebody cutting it for the first time and like I said she got it. She also gave me some styling tips that I really appreciated and cleaned up the back of my neck for me. All that for under $30. It's the first haircut I've walked out of and not immediately put on a hat till I can fix my hair the way I like it. When I got home and looked in the mirror I wished I'd given her a bigger tip.

One of the best haircuts I’ve ever had in my life and I get them every month. Their barbers take great pride in their work, vice speeding through it with electric sheers. Not too many around that can still handle straight razors. The free coffee or beer is pretty cool too.

This is not a Walmart haircut and the prices are very reasonable for the experience that is provided. Locals has my business as long as I’m in Colorado. Cannot recommend enough.

I got a great haircut today from Jeff Barron, one of the best haircuts I've ever had, a true professional that I highly recommend. The discount program is puzzling, however, since they took two completed discount cards, (one complete top and bottom, and two completed at top) gave me one half back, and applied no discount to the $29 haircut. That's okay, but I always give the discount as additional $$ on top of the $10 I always tip for a good haircut. Jeff, you should ask them for the rest of your tip.

I was here and helped by Jeff(medieval barber) I asked to get this design and I came out better than I could’ve ever hoped for! It took under 14 minutes! I can not believe how amazing this experience was, as soon as we entered they asked if we wanted anything to drink and we only waited about a minute to start! The price is the one thing I was worried about but it was very cheap and reasonable. This is truly the best hair experience I have ever had and I will soon be going back for another appointment and I can’t wait!
