Awful Experience. I used to like this spot. It was a good space with friendly people and the cuts were solid and affordable. My visit today was unbelievable. I had an appointment at 2:30 and wasn't put in a chair until 2:55. The barber asked me 'How's your day going' and I said 'pretty mellow - I ' and he cut me off and said 'Oh yeah, not working? Well I've been working and I've been really busy all day, so what do you want me to do with your hair'. After I told him he was very aggressive in the way he grabbed my head and moved me around. He was mashing the guard against my head (it legit hurts) and It was the fastest 'cut' I've ever received (less than ten minutes). The barber reeked of cigarettes and the only other things he said while he was cutting me was mocking other clients to the other barbers and sarcastically saying 'The client is always right'. He didn't even give me the cut I asked for - he faded the sides without asking when I specifically told him I just wanted him to bring it down to a two and clearly didn't have a fade before. He also never showed me the back after the cut - I specifically asked him to square it in the back and when I got home I checked it and he rounded it really high. The top is also uneven. When I was 'done' I asked the person at the front desk if there was a manager or supervisor I could speak to. The person asked what was going on and I explained the wait and that I didn't receive the cut I asked for and while I was explaining this the barber came back up to the front and kept trying to start a confrontation with me. He was super aggressive and kept saying that asking for a two is the same as asking for a fade and then said 'If you just want a quick cut in and out then you should make an appointment!' so I told him that I did. I had to continuously tell him that I wasn't interested in starting a fight with him but was simply making sure that the owner knows what's going on in his establishment. I felt super threatened by this guy and I don't think it was unreasonable to make a formal complaint given that the service I paid for was not adequate and the barber that cut my hair was a incredibly rude and aggressive person that screwed up my cut. The only decent thing about the experience was the individual at the front desk with the fabulous lipstick that was actually trying to respectfully hear me out and offer options to make the situation better while the angry lunatic barber kept yelling at me from behind them. Thanks for trying, but as long as that barber is there I 100% will not return. Unreal terrible haircut, terrible service. Literally threatening employee needs anger management. Now I literally have to go somewhere else to fix my hair.

She cut my hair in less than 10 minutes. I told her what I wanted and then she just buzzed my head. No style to it and my calic looks like a 12 year olds. Kind of haircut where you need to make sure they trimmed around your ears before you leave. Then I realize she was in such a rush to sit in her chair and text. I should not have tipped her but maybe Floyd's doesn't pay her enough to care. I used to go to Floyd's but it's so hit or miss I am done.

Leslie Purk is fantastic! In the past, I’ve paid $100 for a hair cut- I have fine, thick & curly hair which is a challenge- but I’ve never been so impressed as I have with Leslie! It can be a challenge to style your hair the first time after a cut.... but not with Leslie’s cut! The shape of my cut makes it easy to style and it is EXACTLY what I wanted! Thank you again!!

Will never visit this location after viewing how the young African American man was discriminated against. Plus the staff member lied to police, seriously the staff should be fired and charged for making a false statement and treating this young man with disrespect and assaulting him. It is extremely dangerous for a young, black man to be arrested these days. Not only was he discriminated against for his race but also for a disability too. My husband has had haircuts from Floyd's before, never again.

If you're going here for a haircut, ask for Natasha... she cuts my hair so good its auto styled for 2-3 weeks without needing any product. This rating is more for her than the actual salon, which is just alright.

My second time here, and definitely my last. Making some other barber shop in the Capitol Hill area my go-to place. In short: sub-par service, and sub-par haircut. While making an appointment, person on the phone sounded like she was doing me some sort of favor? Sassy, and un-welcoming. Her phone had a lot of background noise (from the music), so I asked her if she could repeat what she said; and her unamused tone jumped like 10 points further. (Edit: in looking at others posts, they reference the same receptionist I am referring to - blond short hair and stretched earlobes) Barber only asked me once what I would like to get. Then for 75% of the haircut had me facing away from the mirror (so bye-bye any feedback). Moreover, it was done in some 7 minutes, so any chance of me asking the barber to stop so I can take a look were already quite late. Needs better service, and more professional barbers.

This will definitely be my last time at this horrible barbershop.The barber I was given did not even listen to what type of haircut I wanted or was just clueless and decided to give me a different haircut instead of asking questions.Also the barber took 30 minutes working on my fade and it still came out horrible and she herself even said "I could have probably faded it in a little bit better."What a joke.Trust me do not go here the barbers are inexperienced with the new trends and can only do old school haircuts.

-35-40 wait time even after a 30 minute call ahead. -The girl who cut my hair was not nice at all. When she would move my head she would make this annoyed face and fake smile. I asked for a few suggestions and all she could say was "it's whatever you want to do with it" I realize that but I wanted the opinion of someone who cuts hair. It was clear she didn't want to talk, which was fine. She was very passive aggressive and cut way more off my hair than I asked. -Overall very long, uncomfortable, disappointing experience. -I can't remember her name but she had thick dark eye liner and was working on the chair to the side of the two rows of chairs, in the evening. She definitely should not be working with the general public. -Everything aside if she had just given me a decent cut then I wouldn't have cared about all of the other stuff.

First time to this particular Floyd's and normally I really look forward to Floyd's great service and cool atmosphere. Might have just caught the barber on an off day, she finished my cut in roughly 5 minutes and pushed me out of the chair. Not the type of service I've gotten before and not as quality of a cut. I’ve visited this location four different times. Each time I’ve been charged a different price for the same service, a beard trim. The first time I was charged $17 for the beard trim. The second time I was charged $6 and then was told that I was overcharged on the previous visit. That was unexpected and appreciated. The next visit I was charged $19 for a beard trim. $19 after it was stated that I was overcharged when paying $17. Finally on my last visit I was charged $10. This is my first experience at a barber shop where I’m charged different prices for the same job. Also, the manager is never available as I’ve called the store to try to get an explanation. The person who answers the phone wants to know my issue but never gets me in touch with the manager. IDK just pay attention to what you’re charged.

I try to be objective when I write a review. However, I read one about a certain receptionist and experience in the chair. I believe I got the same two. I’ve been coming to this shop for about five years now. As I remember from the vast majority of previous call-a-heads, they ask for my phone number which I believe would bring up my history. Not this time. The demeanor in the greeting was something less than can-do, how can I help. I usually get a warm welcome and a smile when I walk in. Not this time. I felt like an interruption of something more pressing than a guest coming in for a great experience. The stylist seemed uninterested in giving me the remarkable, custom haircut I am used to at Floyd’s. Same as the receptionist, I felt like an interruption. She was sitting in the waiting area when I walked in. I thought she was a customer. She started off with a bland how do you want it? Never introduced herself, never followed up during the cut in terms of how I liked it. No chatting during the cut. I wanted it shorter, and the front is uneven, but I felt uncomfortable speaking up. I left a $5 tip only because I come from the hospitality industry and need a more compelling reason to “stiff” someone. Comparing this experience to the cookie-cutter shops, I can get the same service and cut there for half the price. You’re slipping, Floyd’s, you’re really slipping!

I went in to get a haircut with a razor as my hair us very fine and reacts to razor cuts better. I have been there before many times in the past years. They could not find me in the system. I advised the the receptionist I needed my hair cut with a razor. I was told to wait. I waited as several people were ushered to chairs who got in after I did. I was called, but was told he and she could not cut my long hair with a razor. Then I was called to a chsir and asked the lady if she could cut about an inch off with a razor. She said she could not. She checked with another person who said the haircut would be the full rate of $45. I declined. So an hour after I walked in, I had to leave without s simple haircut of one inch which I felt $45 was a bit much for. Thanks, Floyds for wasting my time.

This was the worst experience one could imagine. My husband was shorn like a sheep by a toddler. The haircut he received was garbage. The “certified” barber destroyed years of hard work growing a beautiful beard in a matter of seconds. He even shaved off part of my husband’s mustache. I reached out to management because this was actually quite a devastating experience. He went for a trim and shave because he was traveling back to see family he had not seen in years for his Father’s funeral. I got a BS phone call with a pointless voicemail and have returned the call repeatedly, only to be ignored. We won’t EVER return to this company and highly recommend proceeding with caution if you plan on booking anything with the establishment. Highly unprofessional.

Complete waste of my time. April 7th, 7:54pm Called an hour before to schedule an appointment for 7:30, first I am immediately put on hold, then put on hold ago afting asking my question. Frustrating to say the least. Go in and wait for x amount of minutes for the stylist to get ready. Normal. I get called up, only to find myself sitting back down because the stylist didn't have a triple zero guard. She tells me this in such a way it distinctly sounded like she was persuading me to leave after waiting 15mins for her to get ready. Then has me wait about 10 MORE mins for another stylist who was still in the middle of a haircut. After that I got tired of getting ignored and waiting that I decided to walk out. This is a barbershop isn't it? Why would she not have access to a triple zero guard and then almost make me feel bad for asking? She didn't make me feel important as a customer whatsoever. Maybe I'm looking into this too deeply but just didn't seem professional in my opinion.

You get on the waitlist. You sit while the music blares so loud you have to shout to be heard. You sit there for 20 minutes while people who came in after you are taken care of. You tell them you're leaving and ask if you ever were on the list. They ask your name, then say they called for you twice. They must have mumbled it, because all I heard was maximum volume classic rock. Surly attitude and obvious the guy could not have cared less about me. To hell with these clowns. UPDATE: Needed haircut late on Sunday, and Floyd's (to its credit) was open. Having had previous bad experience downtown, I went to Floyd's on Leetsdale. Got a mediocre haircut from an exceptionally rude and ill-tempered Hot Topic fashion victim. Basically, if you took Great Clips, threw on one of those fake sleeve-tattoo things and a Social Distortion T-shirt on it, it would be Floyd's.

Worst Floyd’s experience. I arrived and was told it would be a 35 minute wait. After waiting one hour I asked how much longer and was told there was one person in front of me. I waited 10 more minutes and watched four other people go in front of me. When I let staff know I had to leave and mentioned they should my name off the list, the employee didn’t even remember, despite being the same person I’d spoken to 10 minutes earlier. Poor customer service, especially for a Wednesday afternoon.

Kellie R. is the first woman I have went back to time and again for a fresh cut. I have always had male barbers and frankly didn't trust women with my hair (a couple bad experiences). Kellie gives a fresh fade and is super kind. I have had my hair cut by several people at the Floyd's on Broadway looking for the perfect fit, and shes mos def legit. As long as I'm in Denver shes my first choice. Take my advice, it will save you time.

I have gotten my hair cut here ever since I moved to Denver, but they lost my business today. Supposedly, they have a "call ahead" system where you can get put on the list. I called and got my name on the list and was told there was about a 35-40 minute wait. I showed up exactly 35 minutes later, and told the people at the front desk I arrived. I then proceeded to wait for over an hour, and after no explanation was given to me, I left. I can give my business to an establishment that respects its customers' time. They appear too busy to serve their customers, so I will search for another barber (and I suggest you do, too).

Heidi V is absolutely amazing. She fixed my hair that another stylist had messed up pretty badly. Within one session I was back to my intended color and my hair is 10x softer now after she worked her magic. She paid great attention to detail and it seemed like she really wanted to fix my hair rather than just do it as fast as possible and make money. I would 10/10 recommend going to her. Thanks Heidi!

Decent cut with a nice atmosphere. Been going here for a while and take my kids here as well, they love it! They have a good haircare product line as well, I use the grip, it’s half the cost of crew. If need a good haircut and you’re not to picky, it’s for you.

This was my first visit to Floyds and it was on a pretty busy Saturday waited about 10min for a chair and Tara H ended up doing a great job on thinning out trimming my hair and I have a ton ! , definitely going back , she also hooked it up with a free conditioning which was really cool cuz it show's people still do care about their work \m/

I've been here probably 5-8 times with only one other significant wait time issue but this week has me looking for a new place. Stylists are awesome, I can't seem to get in a chair this week. Here's my story... I arrived for my appt Wed Jan 9 at 5:30 and the woman at the desk asked "Didn't someone call you to say your appt is cancelled?" No. Oh, your appt is cancelled. Your person called out sick. Me - I don't have a person, I asked for anyone. Her - let's schedule you for Thursday. Okay.Thursday @ 6:00 it is. I called Thursday Jan 10 to confirm appt - yes, good to go. Arrive at 6:00 and asked to wait briefly. After 30 minutes I approach the man at the desk and ask if my appt is still in queue (there's only 2 of us waiting and no-one checked on me). No, we lost you, what's your name again. Sorry, I'll be right with you. 10 minutes later I walk out and tell the man behind the desk this brief story of my 2-day experience. He is sorry but in 15 more minutes someone will be available if I want to wait? No thanks. I totally understand that glitches happen and service industries are challenging. What is so frustrating about waiting around for nothing is I watched the front desk guy Thursday night work his cell phone, leave the desk empty to hit the sidewalk for I think nicotine hit, give and receive back massages to the other employees waiting for their customers, and dance around a little bit while I sit there wasting time. To the owner: I desperately tried to spend my money in your shop without success. Maya Angelou said people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel. Floyd's Broadway made me feel really quite unwelcome this week. Message received.

There's a salon closer to my house but I choose to come here. There's usually a bit of a wait for walk-ins because it's so close to downtown, so make an appointment. However, the stylists here are great. Last time Lupe cut my hair & she's my girl now.

The 5 stars is going to Mark G not the barbershop. I've only been there once so I can't really rate it. This is easily the best cut I've gotten in 5+ years and I've had a ton of different barbers. Know what you want and you will get what you want. He's really passionate about his job and really good at what he does. I strongly recommend going to him if you care about how your hair looks.

I just had my last haircut at Floyd's on Broadway after 15 years of going. 3 times in a row 15 minutes estimated while I end up sitting for 45 minutes. Is it that hard to count clients (mostly men) and hair stylists and get an estimate within 5 minutes? A computer check in system would get an estimated start time within 90 seconds. Obviously the culture doesn't value the client's time and that's why I'm done. When guys walk in willing to take whoever can cut them first, what do you think the customer cares about?

I can't say anything about their skills here because after setting a 5:30 appointment, getting there 10 minutes early and waiting 15 minutes after my appointment no one came over. I set the stylist as any thinking it would be quicker but no because someone who came in for a (I assume) a 6 o'clock appointment is got in before me. If setting the stylus as any delays you they need to warn you because my time is too precious to just sit around and be passed on

The girl that cut my hair said I insulted her because I was "giving off vibes" that she didn't know what she was doing and that if I really cared that much about getting a haircut then I should come more than every three months. Really awkward -- I didn't even say anything to make her feel this way whatsoever...she just assumed that because of the way I was looking at it in the mirror that I didn't like it. Haircut was great, but very poor customer service warrants a single star. I will never go back to Floyd's in general. I tipped her five bucks and will move on.

I usually go to the one on Champa but for some reason I went here to get a beard trim and I regretted it right away. This guy couldn’t even shape my beard in a straight line I did point out to him that it was weird but he was convinced it was straight. had to do it myself.

The lady cutting my hair didn't really ask me much about how I wanted my hair, I had to keep stopping her and asking her to go shorter, she was decently polite but really didn't try to be personable, didnt show me the back (which I would've asked to be shorter) then when she was done just kind of walked away without saying anything, maybe I just caught her on a bad day but she didn't really make me feel welcome, probably won't go back.

Leloni 100% didn't listen to a thing I asked for her to do with my hair. Asked for a fade and keep my curls on top. She decides just shaving down the sides and CUTTING THE CURLS OFF is what I want. She was extremely rough with me and definitely was in a rush. I am so disgusted by how I was treated and the total disregard for what I asked for. This is the exact reason I haven't been to a Floyd's in a long time and looks like I was right to avoid them.

Was completely ignored by the staff for over an hour as I watched walk ins come and go well after me. 1 star is honestly too much of a compliment, management I am sure will do nothing about the complaint as well. I got a trim hair over a month ago just got a simple couple inches removed on the sides and the back no head massage shampoo nothing of the sorts well she charged me $23 instead of the $18 buzz cut silly me to give her a $7 tip. Maybe it was my Pro Trump shirt that triggered her but she purposely left a corner of my hair on my hair line untouched so it would stick out after I washed it the next day. I believe it was Jackie, she had a picture of her chubby husband and baby in her box. I literally had to go to another barber to get the job done properly. last time I go to a place that has Shady stylist walk you to the counter in hopes of delivering body language peer-pressure for a tip, let's not forget I was told the wait was 20 minutes and then waiting close to 40. No thanks never will come back I'll stick with the barber shops that have the old men that can do their job right.
