It was a new experience, but there was someone else at this barbershop and I just tagged along, the experience was never felt before. Nice, clean, and cooled environment. Someone always greets you and offers any drink: water, soda, juice or alcohol, like a shot of whiskey or a beer, and it is free. They seemed very professional barbers. I always seem to judge a barber by his or her personal cuts, let me tell you they seem to know what they are doing there. I'm going to try my next haircut there, let's see what happens.

(Just now starting to leave reviews since I’m new to San Diego and I rely on them myself.) Very nice, beautiful place, very welcoming. The staff is friendly: they offered me a drink the second I walked in there (of course I took a beer), offered to take my jacket, let me know what was going on (why it was “taking so long”), and had sports on the tv. My barber was Andy. He was very nice, showed that he cared about how I looked walking out, asked all the right questions about the haircut I chose, gave advice on what I should/could do, but kept what I had in mind, and overall did a wonderful job. And even though they were busy, they were available for a walk-in! They were very friendly from the phone call until I walked out. I will definitely come back here :) 10/10 recommend.

When you are offered a beer when you check in, it seems like the right spot lol Best haircut I have ever gotten. Omar and Andy are my go-to barbers. Had to get a quick haircut before a trip to New York and the finished product was perfect. Got a haircut today from Andy and the result definitely had me happy. Great atmosphere to get a cut in, incredible customer service, and one of the most amazing designs for a barber shop ever! Mister Brown definitely brought his New York Style to San Diego!

What a great space. What a great idea! Lee has really set something up here that is unique and classic. Authentic barber shop with really top notch barbers using vintage chairs in a welcoming and friendly space. When you come in for your appointment you're greeted by Lee or one of the staff who will offer you a water, soda or beer while you wait. It's a really nice way to unwind. I like to show up ten or fifteen minutes early to enjoy a tecate and listen to the almost always great mix on the stereo. Last thing is adding booking online was such a good move. Its so efficient with how busy they are.

I give it a three because it was pretty inside, convenient , and great customer service. In terms of a haircut though I paid $52 and left having to completely fix it. I'm not one to ever complain but I was let down. Man was great, but only trimmed my hair one level with No line up and no beard trim. He claims his little machine did work but it didn't. It's the place you wanna go if you feel like you don't care dropping money like that on a haircut, but not if you wanna feel completely fresh. Go here if you have long hair that needs to be styled. Then you are going to get the bang for your buck. Don't go if you want a low haircut and a line up. Hit the one across the street who will do a full line up and all for $25 bucks.

Mister Brown's is the kind of place I want to hang out at all the time - the mood is chill, the place is awesome and the people are very cool. Listen to great music and shoot a game of pool on their vintage pool table while you wait for your haircut. My appointment was with Travis who did an awesome job with a new clean cut that I'll be coming back for from now on. Lee, the owner... nicest guy you'll ever meet. Keep up the great work, guys. There's no other place in San Diego like Mister Brown's!

I had my first professional hot shave and beard trim at Mister Brown's. It was really cool. Travis Williams, thanks for that awesome trim. The shop felt like a proper old school super trendy gentleman club with guys playing pool, people watching TV and working/playing on their electronic devices-all at your local barber shop. This is the best barber shop I have ever visited. Well done to the owner, Lee Brown from bringing a gentleman's parlor style barber shop to San Diego. Highly recommend this place. Ill be back for a trim, one of your social events or just stop by for a game of pool.

I would never recommend this place to my worst enemy . $35 for a haircut and the gentleman destroyed my hair. I told Gabe I wanted a fade and he gave me a taper. And I tipped him $10. If you want a quality haircut go to Goodfellas. 35$$$$$.. no hot towel.. no extra nothing.. ive never been more dissatisfied

Been here a few times. Usually good haircut in a great environment. Last time my barber seemed a little off, maybe even hungover or just having a bad day. He cut the back of my neck at least 3 times with the straight blade. I didn't notice until there was blood on my shirt. Have pictures of it. I called and talked to the owner. He apologized but never offered a refund which I think would be a bare minimum. I have not been there since. You get as good a cut from the other shops in the area for less, albeit in a less fancy environment

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! I am visiting America from Australia for 3 months. I told my barber back home that I would only get my hair cut once on my entire trip and she told me to choose wisely. I have been to 12 States so far and still have 10 to go. I had been looking at Google reviews to find the perfect place and something about Mister Browns told me this was the place to go. I am so happy I chose this place! I used the online booking service to book with Zeke, who I had read about on Google. On arrival at the shop, I was welcomed with a smile and the offer of beer, soda or water (part of my trip was Vegas and I decided to never drink again after that so I opted for water). The whole shop has a great vibe about it and you can see how much effort has gone into creating the atmosphere. From the pool table and old school record player, down to the choice of scent in the candles. Now all of this would mean nothing if the hair cut wasn't good, after all, it is a barber shop, but I was delighted with Zeke's work! And I am that person who is very picky with their hair (I went through 7 or 8 barbers in Australia before I found someone who did what I like). I left Mister Browns feeling like a new man and with exactly what I wanted done, in fact Zeke exceeded my expectations! He even took a picture with me to send to my barber in Australia! Plus he had great conversation! Whether you live in San Diego, or you're like me and just passing through, I strongly recommend you choose Mister Browns as your barber shop! Thanks again to Zeke and everyone in the shop today! Great job guys and keep up the amazing work you do!

I have been going to the same barber now for about 6 years and was always afraid to "cheat" on him with another barber but he unfortunately broke his hand so now was my chance to finally try our Mister Brown's. So what did I think? Loved it! Amazing haircut. I did a ton of research a decided to book an appointment online with Chavo. First off Chavo is amazing he is super patient and awesome guy who took his time and gave me a solid cut. He explained everything to me and told me a few recommendations and I ended up getting some new palmade as well. Didn't feel rushed at all and it was about a hour haircut with a hot towel finish. Highly recommend and ask for Chavo. The owner Lee is super nice as well and is making his own palmade which I think is really cool. I'll be sure to support him as soon as he launches his brand. Overall a must try for a great cut and awesome atmosphere. Pro Tip: ask Chavo what he would recommend you do with your hair if you're contemplating a new style. He's the man and very informative.

I’ve had my hair cut by two different barbers in the past three months. My partner has too. Every one of them have done a great job on our fades and top cuts. Dan is awesome, Richie is awesome and I’m not sure the two other barbers that cut my partners hair were but they both did an excellent job on his hair. This is by far the coolest barbershop I have ever been to!!! I am very OCD when it comes to someone cutting my hair for the first time and this place impressed me with their barbers as well. I just recently moved to San Diego and when I called and told the owner Lee I wanted an amazing barber and gave him the description of how I like my hair cut, he set me up with a barber there named Richie!! Richie, is by far one of the best barbers I have been to. I typically get my haircut every week and every single time he cuts my hair, it's done perfectly!!! The way he blends in the fade is so spot on. Richie is truly an artist at what he does!! If your looking for a barber shop while your in San Diego visiting or looking for a permanent barber, come here!! If you can get Richie as your barber, you will never regret it. Love this place!!!

The place itself is a vintage with an old fashion design and the brick walls around. My barber Omar, a very professional and friendly person gave me the best look on my hair. Great look to the place, fits right in with the North Park vibe. If that's all you're looking for then this might be the place. I've been there twice and both times have walked away unsatisfied. I told both barbers I've been paired up with exactly what I wanted and even pulled up some examples on my phone yet they never really gave me the cut I asked for. This is especially true for my last barber. I asked for an undercut and got a fade instead. Asked for the back to be trimmed down and he didn't. I didn't get a chance to really look at the haircut before I left as he seemed tired and rushed me off. I understand maybe I haven't found the right barber there and I'm sure there are good ones but spending $40 a pop to find that barber isn't really worth it for me.

As a woman with really short hair I scour barbershop reviews to figure out which one to go to so I feel obligated to leave a review about my experience. I'd highly recommend this place—I went in with a basic "shorter on the sides longer on the top" cut that was pretty grown out and shaggy, and Richie gave me a gorgeous fade and probably one of the best haircuts I've ever gotten. I chose this place partially because I saw some women had reviewed it as a solid place to go and I didn't get any weirdness—everyone was great and super friendly. Cool interior and decorations. Maybe a bit pricey but less than I'd pay at a salon and I was super happy with my hair, so I'll definitely be back.

First of all the space is dope as hell, it's gotta pool table, living room, and lounge area to chill while waiting for your cut or shave. It also combines an old school classic Mad Men feel while having all the modern amenities of a luxury loft. Travis is my dude when I need a cut/shave and owner Lee Brown is the perfect host. Check this place out as soon as possible, you won't regret it!

Really nice place. Mediocre hair cut and my beard got butchered which I was really upset about. Waaaay overtrimmed! Guys with beards will know what I mean. I’m sure the talent level varies from barber to barber in this place but $60 later I am feeling like I got ripped off. Always start with taking off a little on the beard and communicate throughout the trim to make sure the customer is getting what they want.
