I've been taking my son to Legends Barbershop since he was six. Super kid friendly, and owner Goose the barber and his staff are very professional. Parking can be a little tricky because the block is one of the most poppin in LA. The shop can be busy so best to make an appointment.

I just happened to be walking by one day recently and noticed that my foot had been cut open and was bleeding a lot and the employees here brought me inside and helped me clean my wound and bandage it up. Excellent shop with 17 years experience. All the barbers are professional, clean and courteous . Great Location but parking can be tricky, so arrive early. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are strongly suggested. It gets pretty busy in there. The barbers here offer a variety of services from Haircuts, Shaves and Rest Facial to color. If you want a barbershop that has proven history, this is your place.

If there is option to give 0, I will do that. The barber shop has no professional standards...totally unethical shop. We had appointment for 2 people ( me and my brother) and they said that they will only take one. They later on offered me to do haircut again but again denied service since their other customer showed up. No PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS...they don't respect customers. If you asked somebody to sit and about to start hair cut, how can u ask them to get up since they have other customer? MOST UNEDUCATED FOLKS IN AREA...who does not know how to treat customers? One kid for cup to drink and he said asked your father to get something from LIQOUR SHOP..He even said kids waste his paper cups...PATHETIC WAY to talk to KIDS.. They take calls, watch TV and last thing is cutting which they need to focus on. I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS SHOP...WORST SHOP I HAVE EVER BEEN...I cannot believe how these people are in service. PLEASE AVOID THIS SHOP OR ELSE YOU OR YOUR KIDS COULD BE ILL TREATED.

I have to give them a one star because I was charged a higher amount than what is posted on the services list. The sign says $20 for a kids cut under 12. I was charge more than that for my four year old's cut, without being given a reason for the upcharge. I don't mind paying for quality, but please charge as posted. It's rather unprofessional to do otherwise. Lastly, yes they can give you a proper cut here, but I won't be coming back nor will my friends.

Barbers were very friendly, but I received a really bad fade from a new barber (it barely looks like my hair was cut) and I asked for the barber to fix it, and he said "sorry, the shop's about to close". He also didn't offer to fix it another day, and for the price they charge they shouldn't let someone leave if they're not satisfied with their haircut.

I went to J.J. Styles and when I called to say I was gonna be late, she was rude and un enthused as I told her I was a new member to Cali and her shop. I got in to her chair 5 minutes behind schedule, and she didnt not talk unless asked how Inwant my hair cut. Not personable at all and it was a very awkward hair cut. Not a great impression for this shop. If I go again I hope I meet someone that makes it feel like a good experience.

Staying in LA for a while and needed a fresh and clean fade after flying in on a 13 hour flight. Read good reviews for this place. Unfortunately, it was just disappointing. Cool guy, won't name him, but definitely amateur level. Clear beaks and visible lines. Didnt ask for tapering. Asked if i wanted to wash my own hair. 50.00 id expect at the very least some of these questions. Had to go elsewhere to fix it. Check Vince the Barber...my normal guy recommended him to me... afterwards.

Intro: Cutting black peoples hair in California is like pulling teeth. Sit seems like this market focus on white and Latino hair, and being from Atlanta, this is a culture shock. Being in the hair Capital of the world, Atlanta can cut anybodies hair because they specialize in hair. I went to multiple barber shops and my hair cut was always a mess, until I met Reg the barber. Price: The price he charged me for a hair cut is very good. Other barbers that are over charging people need to stop and go back to the drawing board. If your going to charge a Master Barber price, you better have skills like Reg the Barber. Haircut: I was nervous when I came to the barbershop and the chair was empty. However, he schedules mostly by appointment and will take walk ins. He didn’t push back my hairline and he hasn’t cut up my face with sharp razors. Based on your face type, he can recommend multiple different styles. Reg takes a lot of care when cutting your hair. Also, my hair looks healthier since I have been going to Reg. I would recommend his service to anyone because you can’t have everyone in your head (true statement). Personality: Reg is very professional and makes sure not to have you wait (which is a huge plus). Booking appointment is the best option because he will make sure to be courteous to your time. Location: This barber shop is located in a very popular part of town and by a lot of shops. It’s going to be packed, so if you book an appointment with Reg, make sure to be earlier than normal to be able to park. Overall: I recommend Reg the Barber to anyone, especially black people, needing a haircut in California. Again, you cannot have everyone in your head, however I recommend you go see Reg the Barber. I am a loyal customer to him.

My husband is very particular to his haircut and line up some barbers tend to push hairlines back. Reg the barber was very mindful of this fact and was able to follow my husbands natural hair line. I truly appreciated the work the Reg The Barber did on me. He saw me walking down the street and handed me his card and I thought to myself, “on my next cut I’ll come by and give him a try.” I came here and literally got the best haircut of my life. I appreciated his attention to detail and his ability to take direction. I work in a service industry and need to look the same all the time, as a part of my brand. He took my brand and enhanced it. My mom said I looked good, my partner said I looked good, my co-workers said I looked good and everyone said the same thing, “whoever you went to... keep going back.” When you see the title Master Barber it’s correct and an understatement. More like barber Jedi. In terms of the in shop experience and ambiance, I will also say this: as a queer black man I’ve always been a little leery of barber shops. Growing up I’d get my hair cut in south LA; getting cut on Crenshaw all my life dealing with toxic masculinity and problematic language was par for the course. After a while, I just started going to the Korean barber shops. Here at legends; the discussion is woke, the conversations are uplifting, and I always come out of this shop feeling like a better version of myself. Come on by; ask for Reg. Really though, all of the barbers here are skilled.
