If you are an African American, who is new to the OC looking for a good barber shop, this place isn't it. At best, this place is a hair salon. This "barber shop" is not at all what black owned barber shops are and have been historically, for the community. I recently went in to check this place out for my self and my younger brother and I and I had a horrible experience with the owner of the shop, Pierre Dotson.
In my exchange with the owner, Pierre Dotson made stereotypical and prejudice comments, about black communities and black people in Los Angeles, CA. Most of the comments he made were borderline the comments that Uncle Ruckus makes on the show "The Boondocks".
The impression that I received from him was that I was waisting his time and he was losing money, because I was not a paying customer the day I came in. However, my brother and I WERE POTENTIAL customers.
As someone, who has worked for Nordstrom for years, this is the worst customer service and level of unprofessionalism that I have experienced. The irony is the owner thinks he is better and more professional than black owned barber shops in the "LA ghettos", as he puts it, because of his "perspective."
Before finding this shop, I found a Chicano/Latino owned barber shop called, Faded in Santa Ana. The hairstyles and designs in that barber shop are so much better than the styles that were showcased in this one. My brother and I will be definitely going to Faded.
Save your time. Save your money. This hair salon is NOT it.
