Not sure why this shop isn't rated all 5 stars! *Five Star Barber Shop* had an INSTANT welcoming vibe and I was not nervous for the first time in a long time. From the greeting by one of the guys, down to the conversation during the cut, I did not get that intimidation that most men's barber shops have. Usually there are dudes sitting around not getting their haircut, sizing people up. While I will say, 'Ask for SAL' cause his work is amazing; I was paying attention to the other barbers cutting hair here and they were all good. You can legitimately WALK-IN and not fear the wrath of an inexperienced barber. Not to mention, they were FAST! They had a steady flow of customers that they were moving through. So if you walk-in, don't fear. They will get to you shortly and you won't sacrifice quality either. They all had a slightly different style to cutting hair but you could tell that they had been working on their craft for a while and they enjoyed doing what they were doing. This is what i appreciated most; the 'craftsmanship of work' in which they all had and that this world is in need of. I have been getting the WORST, and I mean WORST, haircuts from local competitors (enter large retail chain here) for nearly 8 months now. You'd be surprised how many people "SAY" they can skin fade hair lines and the lot, but when tested, they have failed me. If you view my pictures, hopefully they will relay the fade that I am trying to show. LOOK AT THE LIGHT as it passes through the fade. THIS IS A TRUE SKIN FADE! I opted in for 'Full Service'. Cost me $40 but SO worth it. While I paid the top dollar; their menu was VERY well priced for basic services. They should call it the "Executive Service." I really highly recommend it. In fact, the only thing I would say that I want from this shop is MORE TIME with the full service. I would seriously pay an additional 10-20 bucks more for more time. So relaxing. So long as this keeps up; I have found my forever barber. THANKS for rescuing my hair guys! Make sure you tip these guys well folks, they deserve it.

Five Star is now the barbershop I will always be loyal too. Everytime I go in it's a great service with great people. Ask for Nathan!! He does the cleanest fade in town!! Recently I had my hair a cut a little longer than I wanted on the sides and he said I could come in and fixed for no charge!! These guys are amazing and if you are in the East Valley I would highly highly recommend you go to them!!

I used to come here, haircuts are descent but then they raised there prices up to $5 more per person. I don't think they are that good for that price. They are really fast so that made up them being not so great. Saved me time on my buddy weekend. Now that want to charge like if they are great and they are not. They are just ok. When I start going to a barber shop, I usually like the haircut skills of one specific person working there and try to get a haircut from the same person every time I go there. But, the same person is not always available and I leave upset in every other visit because not everyone working in that particular shop are necessarily good barbers. I started going to the Five Star Barber Shop because it was very close to my house. I just wanted to give this place a chance. I've been going there once a month for more than a year now. In this period, I had a chance to get a haircut from all four different people working there and all four of them were great :) I'm glad I discovered this place and I'm glad they are located very close to my house. Highly recommend them to everyone.

My own brother recommended me to go to this Barber Shop, in hopes that I would get a good haircut like he did from one of the associates. When I went into the store the shop manager barely recognized me and he seemed eager to get me in and out, when it was my turn I sat down and he asked me what kind of haircut I wanted, I explained to him explicitly what I had wanted, keep in mind I keep my hair in a bun so most of my head of hair is hidden underneath my hair when it is let-go hanging. Either he thought I was a twelve-year-old, or just mentally retarded. He tried to rush me in three minutes thinking he gave me a haircut only trimming the sideburns and not even the top edge of my sides. He did less than 30 seconds scissor trim to the top which I had us were less than half an inch which he managed to do. When I explicitly asked him for a lineup because he thought he was going to just give me a massage and get me out he told me only consist of the front end. Not the manager. He seemed very eager and had no interest in cutting hair, and barely even speak English to understand what I was telling him, which I had repeated to him three times that I put my hair up in a bun. No. You're not worth $18 hair trim not even $10 hair trim, guys like I said Great Clips would have done better than him, I do not mean that for any of his other associates just the shop manager.

Five-Star Barbershop at this location has a rare blend of speed and quality, although they charge about the same as other barbershops. In addition, they also cut your sideburns and gave you an upper back massage. They have a great staff, but the barber that I’ve worked with in the last few months is Sal from New York who does a great job as well.

needed a quick cut and was dreading going to a barber. i had to be at work at 130 and got to the shop at 12:50 so assumed i was gonna be late but it was the only free time i had, i have been to so many barbershops where barbers are engaged in their own conversations and not paying attention but as soon as i walked in i was asked if i wanted a haircut and was in the chair within seconds, I am also black and was worried about whether the shop dealt with many black customers because its never fun having your hair looked at like a rubix cube, but the barber was on the spot asking how i preferred the cutting to go with the grain or against, i was immediately impressed and he cut my hair quick while providing great quality, the massage machine was awesome and the conversation was light but friendly. sorry for the long review but really enjoy this place and oh i made it to work with 15 minutes to spare. :)

If you're looking for a good quality fade stay away from this place! I went in for a high combover fade and ended up with this instead! and when I let the barber know I wasn't happy with the cut he still made me pay. I could have went to Great Clips and got a better fade for way cheaper than $22 dollars! The reason everyone is in and out so fast is because it isn't quality work. Save your money and go someplace else.

I found five star barber shop by searching internet for barbers in the area was in, there were a few barbers in the area but I am one who reads reviews. Five star barbers had a good rating and review so I gave them a shot. I’m glad I did, the cut was quick with quality service. Great and funny conversation. I got two haircuts here, the haircuts themselves and the overall the experience is mediocre. For inexplicable reasons the owners are always blasting Fox News on the TVs, big thumbs down. The hair cuts felt rushed even though there was no one else there at the time. They weren't bad but I've had better. Also just generally the place had a weird vibe -- it's hard to describe. Floyd’s 99 is now my go to barber and blows these guys out of the water at the same price.

Been in the east valley for about 4 years now and I haven't found a good barbershop....Until now! These guys are fast, courteous and moderately priced especially for this part of town. 22 bucks for a taper fade is not a bad deal considering they have a hot towel for you and FREE cold water for you to drink upon entry. Not to mention they are also open on Sunday! Glad I came here and will definitely be back..........The only downside: Cash Only so bring cash unless you want to pay 3 dollars for their in house ATM. If you ask me, just get a card machine. Sure they have to pay a fee but that’s the cost of doing business in 2019 and it will make your customer experience that much better.

I have had the pleasure of bringing my two teeneage boys here for a nice, clean, and fast haircut. My kids like to sit in Danny’s Chair because he relates to them well and gets their cuts right every time. They used to hate going to the barber till now. I have always used my same barber for the last 15 years and went ahead and gave Sal “From New York” a shot with my cut. I was pleased with the cut and enjoyed the humor and conversation. I will be back and as always my kids will definitely be back as well. This place is so close to home and it’s nice to get in and out quick. I might just start dating again knowing I can get a touch up at the last second. Thanks fellas

What an amazing walk in barber shop! Been here about twenty times and every haircut is better and better. Ellli has been cutting hair for 15 years he gives you a hundred dollar haircut for eighteen dollars him and his three employees do a great job and they are open seven days a week don't forget to bring cash and tip them well because they deserve it.

Went in on a whim for a haircut and got a haircut from Daniel. They got me in a chair immediately despite no call ahead and made sure they knew exactly what I wanted before making the cut (taper on top with a rat tail, feel free to judge lmao) and Daniel killed it. Looking forward to going back for a cut and beard trim. $18 more than reasonable for excellent haircut.

I decided to try a barber shop and this place was recommended. I wanted to try something new since I've been consistently displeased with Great Clips ETC. These guys are awesome! Family owned and operated, which is a real breath of fresh air after going to a certain chain hair cutters for a number of years. Very friendly, upbeat and very reasonably priced. They are cash only, but I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Israel was great! I walked in around 440 on Thurs and am very pleased with the experience, even though there was a bit of a misunderstanding. There were about 4 people waiting, but the wait was pretty short with only 2 people working. Cuts were coming out quickly and looking good. I had called on my way in and asked the price just to clean up around my ears and the back and was told $10. I didn't mention this to Israel when I sat down, so he did more of a full cut and trimmed higher up of than he would have for $10. It was well worth the extra $8 considering the hot towel, electric massager, and straight razor. I'll definitely be coming back.

Whole experience was a rushed, bare minumum. I showed a picture of what I wanted, and the young, skinny guy I had still couldn't even get the fade right. Spent maybe 8 minutes total on my haircut and 30 seconds tops on the entire top of my head. This includes me asking him to change several things. He kept trying to act like he was finished without even asking if i was satisfied. The kid was even face timing his friends while giving my haircut, which was unprofessional. He even critisized my haircut choices. This kid also kept trying to shamelessly promote their business to people already there by giving everyone business cards and asking for yelp reviews. Any generic $13 haircut chain would have given a better experience. Only good things I saw were the free water/machine massage they offer and that employees seemed friendly. The other barbers might have been better, and i usually don't rate places unless I've gone several times, but I won't be returning.
