Been comin here for two years and it's hard to beat Electric Haven. They really listen to what you want and create the best styles in Phoenix. I'm sad because I'm moving out of Arizona soon and I've built relationships with the owner and a couple other barbers, not just mine. Ask for Rick though and tip him well, he'll take care of you. They also carry the best pomade and styling products you can find

For ladies who want haircuts typically worn by males, this is a mellow place. I was nervous at first about usually being the only girl customer in the shop but everyone here is chill.

The atmosphere is great, the shop looks great, and the staff are phenomenal. Their quality is very high, so it’s not the cheapest option out there (their prices start at $20). I was pinched a few times by the razor which hurt, but I was served fairly quickly without having to wait. Overall, it’s a fancy fun shop with great quality hair. It’s a bit pricy for my simple tastes but a good option for anyone that wants regular quality cuts :)

I was seen within fifteen minutes as a walk-in as someone had cancelled their appointment. One barber noticed I rode my bike to the shop and gave me a water as soon as I walked up to the desk, which was very much appreciated. Everyone was nice and on task. Justin gave me the best haircut I've ever gotten for about the same price as Great Clips or the like. This is now my go-to barber.

I had not had a proper haircut for about 14 years. I had fallen into the habit of going to a Sports Clips near me (which was okay) but I felt like doing something special. So after polling my Facebook friends I made my appointment at Electric Haven with Nathan. I showed him a picture of the kind of thing I was thinking about and about 20 minutes later had a cut I was happy to have. At first this might not sound like a big deal but I have a head like a block and a receding hairline; so it's really easy to get a bad haircut. Nuts and bolts: The atmosphere was cool if you had to wait you wouldn't be bored. I went at 1pm and arrived a little early so we started promptly. Cash is appreciated but not required. My personal philosophy is always to take care of the people who take care of you so cash is always the way to go.

George was precise and thorough and he took his time which much was appreciated. He is very nice guy. They put in the effort to make my haircut right when I wasn’t happy. If you communicate properly then they’ll will bend over backwards to help you out. The owners are great too! This was an updated review based on my most recent experience. I had some things I wanted fixed from my most recent haircut and they fitted me in as a walk in with no wait and took care of me. I will be going back!

My first barber experience was this shop, and as a woman with a faux hawk I felt very welcome in the seat. They play awesome music, hard rock/metal/alt, and I hope some day they get their tattoo license for the shop as well. This was the worst experience that I've had going to a barber shop. The kid that cut my hair kept questioning the way I part my hair. ( just a regular side part) Asked to get an inch off the top, didn't even do anything to it. Kid didn't even say a word the whole time he was "cutting" my hair and he was acting like he was in a hurry probably sat in his chair for 7 minutes. I've been told by quite a few people that this was a good barber shop. That was not true for me.

I've been here a bunch of times before for George and was okay with it. Came back today around noon made an appointment with George at 1pm which was totally fine because I had a busy day and errands to run. I got here around 12:55pm and I walked out at 1:15pm because of the long 20min wait which would have made me late for work if I stayed for the likely 30-40mins haircut. The frustrating part was that it was postponed for so long because of a conversation he was having with his client about the Endgame movie while I was waiting for him. This place definitely needs a form of a secretary personnel because there's really no feel of organization, everyone seems to be going with the flow rather than following their bookings. I will say that some of the other barbers were asking me if I had an appointment or was just a walk in which was great but if only George had took the time to look around and realize he had a client waiting. Now I have to either find a new barber or just give the shop another chance with a different barber.

It was a bit of a wait (about an hour), but that's to be expected when they do such a good job. All the barbers are top notch and very friendly. Literally one of the most stressful and rude haircuts ive ever gotten, i will never go back to this shop again. The first time i went to this barber shop, you appreciate the art and decoir around, there are some barbers there who go the extra mile to help. Recently went to get my usual, they tell me my barber is not available, so i decided to try a different one, since past experiences were positive. Well unlucky me, i dont ask for anything complicated, just my money’s worth. The genlteman attending me rushed me insanely, i expressed what i wanted, and he goes at it, a bit later i told him oh hey i forgot to say i like this in my hair, nothing he couldnt have added or modified, its not like i was bald and shaved which would have made it impossible. Long story short he reacts completely negative, i knew i waa his last haircut and he just wanted to leave. Men i tip good all the time, and this dude doesnt even take the time to be pollite, he just sais oh i dont do that, and then i say about my beard, look man you get paid for all the services you provide, i was asking for a free beard trim... oh no dude you have to tella us way in advance, this aint charity, we dont do that for free thats extra, and am like wow he just went to assume i wanted it for free. I try to speak to management about how unpleasant it was, wooow the guy comes all confrontational with me, a customer, and sais “look bro you got a free haircut (a very bad one and not even what i wanted) what else do you want” Incredible the rudeness, money was never an issue. I simply will not go back again. One star is too much. If you dont like servicing people, helping them reach their goal, their appearance that they look for, why would you work in such field. Unprofessional, aggresive, rude, and disrespectful to a regular customer.

I heard about electric haven one night at the Tempe bar, Casey Moore's. Some guy had such great hair that I risked coming off as hitting on him to complement the doo and ask where he got it done. He told me about EH and it's been my go to since then. I moved away and briefly stopped going there but after successive disappointments I now make the long journey to the shop anyways. I'm actually taking my son there now so we can both get work done, I'll also be buying a haircut certificate for a Christmas present to my brother in law who needs it. It's it's own environment, people that take their craft as something of an art and are easy to converse with. So my favorite aspect is that I can go in with no directive whatsoever, give creative license to whoever is doing the work and come out with something new that I appreciate. They're also good at directives if u have one. Most barbers don't listen, they do whatever they want and it's aggrevating. At EH they listen, do good work and for maybe $3 or $4 more than a crappy haircut, you get a very good one.

The bit of a long review so the short story is that this is the best barber shop I have been to in the valley in 35 years. I take a great deal of pride in my appearance partly due to being a veteran and partially to just how I was raised. I also take a great deal of pride in the fact that I know how to treat people with respect and courtesy and I try to frequent businesses which also respect and our courteous to their patrons. I have been using this barber shop for over 5 years. This review is long overdue. Austin was my first barber and he is a terrific barber. For a while he had to go on hiatus and he passed me on to Rick who is equally as awesome a barber. I have a prolific beard and when people see me they see my smile and my beard. I can only think of three men in the state of Arizona who can work on my beard and two of them are employed at electric haven. My appointments are always on time and there is always beverages in the fridge waiting for me while I wait. whomever answers the phone is very polite and courteous and quick with setting appointments, I say whomever because everybody who answers the phone is awesome. Customer service died in the '90s and has been on a steady decline since. Electric haven understands how to treat their patrons and because of this I will continue to go to electric haven for years to come.

My daughter has been bugging me for months to get a side shave cut with a design. I didnt want to do the typical kid cut place for something like this and a friend told me about Electric Haven and said the guys there would probably be good with something like that. After checking out reviews and the website I agreed and called in to get an appt with Ricky. Cool joint, nice vibe from the crew/clients. We talked through the concept a bit initially and then Ricky did his thing. Daughter and I are both really happy with the results. Gotta give props where they are due man, you nailed it!

Had a ex girlfriend give me a gift card for a large sum back when they did tattoos. Well they no longer do tattoos. The gift card shows no experation date on it. I called a year ago to see if they would honor it and they said they would always honor it if there is no experation date. Well I called to make sure one more time because I was going to you it this week. The gentleman I spoke with over the phone was extremely rude, he seemed appalled I would even ask if they would still honor the gift card. ( Even tho they recieved money for it, hence a gift card) I understand it was a long time ago this gift card was set up and a " I'm sorry sir we can no longer honor that" or "We could honor that at a lower price" would be just fine. Instead he sounded disgusted and annoyed. To get the confused rude reaction was not the reaction I would expect from a business person to reacting to a new customer. I've never used this place and now I never will. Wish I could give zero stars because a single star means they did at least one thing right!
