I've had Marika highlight and cut my hair several times now. In the past I would just drop in and take my chances as a walk in. I think over the past five years of doing this, I only had a couple of not so good haircuts. However, the last time I dropped in I was assigned to Marika, a fairly new and young stylist at the time and she did such an incredible job. I now request her. I enjoy letting her decide what will look good for me and she never fails. For being such a young gal, she does a great job and has a natural talent for knowing what will work for you. Love my recent highlights and look forward future cuts by her.

I have been seeing Ashley since Studio FX was located in the Dimond mall. She has such a fun, bubbly personality and she obviously loves her job. She always listens to what I want to do with my hair and also offers suggestions when I need them. The prices are pretty good in comparison to other salons I've looked at in the Anchorage area. Ashley is willing to work with me when I have a budget without reducing the quality of her services. The receptionists are nice too and they can put you on a cancellation list for a stylist so you have the chance to get in before your appointment. This is especially helpful since Ashley gets booked up months in advance. Overall it's a great salon and I've had nothing but wonderful experiences there.

Oh my God this place!!! I'm getting married in Alaska and last minute about a week out I decided I needed to get my hair done. I made an appointment from Washington State. I have a jeweled head piece on silk that I wanted incorporated into a partial hair back hairstyle with curls. It came out AMAZING!!! My Hair Stylist was Chelsea, who specializes in wedding hairstyles! I didn't even know when I made the appointment. She was so nice and understanding of what I wanted done. I'm so glad I came here! Very clean and professional atmosphere. I'm so happy with my hair. Beautiful addition to my wedding gown, and took my husband's breath away ❤❤❤

After the owner took the time to talk to me and care about my feelings of my hair from inital visit, my color is starting to look like what i want. My first visit i wasnt too happy and was upset. But she wanted to fix and explain more of the time it takes for black to reddish blonde hair color transition, as well as price. Which is awesome. I’m always nervous going to someone new to cut my hair so going to a new salon was uncomfortable. To my surprise, I loved my new stylist, Rhonda! This is the first time I didn’t go home and refix my hair. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and her response was “let’s do it”. Then music to my ears...”I’m going to use a razor”. So few people know how to cut with a razor and my hair looks best when razored. Rhonda is amazing and my hair looks awesome.

I LOVE Studio FX! I have been a client there for over 2 years now and I am so happy with the service I receive. The staff is fun and professional and they really take time to get to know you. My husband and sons have started seeing stylists at the salon (they used to HATE haircuts) and they love going to get their hair cut at the salon too. I have had my hair cut long, short, it has been highlighted, low lighted, styled straight and styled curly. The stylists at Studio FX know the perfect products to use on my hair - I have never been steered wrong. I would highly recommend visiting Studio FX! They are awesome!

Don't waste your time -- their stylists are all right (I guess) but the customer service is horrible. I had one haircut there and set up another appointment but the woman I was scheduled to see left town and no one bothered to call and tell me (!). There just happened to be another stylist there with a cancellation so I had her trim my hair then set up another appt. with her. No one called to confirm my appt. so I phoned them the night before and was told they "had no record" of me or my appointment. Seriously? I think these people might need a Tabatha intervention

Front desk girl needs to be replaced with someone that has better customer service skills and friendly. Hair dresser, ugh, I knew I would be disappointed with 30$ hair cut. I have a hairstylist who does my hair but Is gone for the next two months, I needed a hair cut bad. So I called this placed because of all the great reviews online, close to home it sounded convenient, asked them to give me their best stylist with most experience. A "Senior" is what they gave me. The girl was super nice however my hair looks terrible, the texture after cutting is super rough looking and it doesn't blend well at all. Super disappointed, not sure why this place has 4 stars?? It's super dirty. Not happy at all. I don't want to give names out because maybe it was just my bad experience and I don't want to ruin the girls name she was very nice. She cut my hair to the length I wanted how ever it's super choppy and really ugly once it's straightened which explains why she immediately curled it. Oh well... I usually pay 50$ for a cut! And I will keep doing so lol I Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. you get what you pay for. I'll be waiting patiently for my hairstylist to fix my hair. :( should have waited from the start.

I went to studio fx a week ago for a grey ombré and a trim, it took about 4 hours because I do have a lot of hair and it took a bit for my hair color to lift. But when I asked for grey, my end result was blonde with a little bit of grey. I specifically told her I didn’t want blonde. Not what I had envisioned or told her I wanted but I though it would look good so I trusted her. The front had a little bit of grey but the back was all blonde and it did not turn out as an ombré at all. When my hair is straight it looks like the bleach was done very choppy and after 2 washes there is no grey left and all the blonde is the same color. And for all this I paid over $250 and left a tip. The person doing my hair was also having someone else do HER hair at the same time.

Not too happy. The hairstyle turned out nice, but I got my lip and chin waxed. On the phone they quoted me one price for the wax but then somehow it doubled when I went to check out. It was not worth that much they didn't get it all. I should have just stuck to my hair getting styled.

Good place. I go to one person and her name is Chelsea. Shes good and cares about her work. Typically when i get hair cuts from other salons they just buzz cut and wait for the next. Chelsea always takes the time to make sure my hair is cut well. She also spends time making sure my wife color is done well also. Shes not a perfectionist but she earns her money.

I found this place via a google search for a salon. Whitni did an AMAZING job on my hair. I have natural red hair. I asked for a dramatic A-frame with low lights. It turned out better than I ever imagined it would! I highly recommend this place! Great atmosphere and nice staff. I took my 3 kids with me and it was an enjoyable experience!

I usually don't write any reviews,but this time I feel that I should so that no one else will have a terrible experience with this place. Yesterday I set up a schedule with this salon. I was clear with what I wanted - a hair cut for myself and for my 2 year old kid. Receptionist said "I will put your daughter's name under yours. The following day,we went for our appointment. I was looking forward to my kid's first haircut. We were greeted by the stylist - I believe her name's Rhonda. She was unenthusiastic to say the least. I asked her if she could do my daughter's hair first then mine after. She said and I quote, "I'm only doing one hair cut today." I was stunned.I explained that the appointment I made was for my daughter and I. And again she said, "No, I'm only doing one hair cut." It wasn't so much as the "miscommunication" (that's what they called it). It was the attitude of this stylist towards us that pushed us away. They tried to fix the problem. But the damage is done. I was just disheartened of how this place treated us.We decided to just leave. There are a lot of salons out there. Go someplace else.If you're reading this, it means you are researching and want the best. Heed my warning.

I called and booked appointment, they confirmed and even said - 'see you later at *date and time*'. I got there 5 mins before my appointment , and they told me that they never put down my name to actually book the appointment. Mind you, I am just going to be in town for the weekend and this is the only time I have to get my hair done as I live in the bush area. Wasted my time going there and coming back to the hotel where I'm staying. Now I have to try and find a salon that still has an opening during Labor Day weekend.
