Needed to get my beard trimmed and edged. Seems there are NOT a lot of barber shops open on Sunday (not sure why, seems like a good day to be open for this type of business). Not only are they open on Sundays, they are open until 7 PM! There were 3 barbers working and I was immediately seated when I walked in the door. I was in and out in about 20 minutes. the cost was $10. I tipped $10 because I was so impressed. The shop is VERY nice, with a cohesive, modern look (super nice legit barber chairs). All of the stations were CLEAN and orderly/organized, as was the shop overall. Several flat screen TV's on the wall. I almost wanted to stay and finish watching the movie that was playing. I usually go to Genesis (which they ROCK big time), but they are closed on Sundays. I would definitely go back and would recommend AK Fadez to others. I didn't get a haircut so i cannot comment on that.

“Ak fades” out of the past 6 hair cuts I’ve got from them I’ve always asked for a low shadow fade and maybe only ones I’ve got a fade. I’ve basically been given a 1 from top to bottom (on the sides) For a place that has in it’s name ‘fade’, Im truly disappointed. And I’ve always showed them a picture of the style.

So I’ve given the place many chances and last time was the last. I called Thursday morning to see what was available. No one answered the phone for the first 35 minutes they were open. When someone finally answered I said “are you busy? I’m 5 minutes up the road and can come now or later, let me know.” He says “it’s empty come now, we’ll get you now.” So I drive there and walk-in and there are two barbers there. One guy is at his chair and one is just finishing up a haircut. There is one customer who is seated. So the barber sitting in his chair says he’s taking the other guy. No big deal I figure, he was there first, and the other barber is 5 minutes from being done. He must be getting me. So the one barber finishes cutting and he starts turning off his light and putting on his jacket. I ask “aren’t you going to cut my hair? I just called and you guys told me to come right in.” He says “no bro, I gotta run, he’ll get you when he’s done with that guy.” So why tell me to come right in. To wait an hour? How professional is that?

Missing that barbershop feel. What I mean is this is the quietest barbershop I have ever been to. Want greeted when I walked in. The two barbers are super slow. The barbers don't interact with client in the chair. One barber was wearing ear buds the whole time. I've been sitting here waiting over 25 minutes. When I came in there were 4 people ahead of me 25 minutes later the are 2 people ahead of me. I'm getting ready to leave because I can do a faster job myself at home.

I recently moved to Alaska from the lower 48 and was having a hard time finding a place to get a soilid haircut from. AK fadez is by far the best place I've found. I have difficult hair to deal with and all of the guys there are able to handle it without a problem. I've gotten three cuts there now from three different guys and not one of them has let me down. Highly recommend AK fadez.

Barbers name was Drew, was lucky with no real queue on Sunday, easy going conversation, no feeling of being rushed and was able to suggest and deliver great haircut. Price was midrange, and this place is now probably my favorite barber shop.

Ask for Drew Smith, His fades are pristine, and the style of the haircuts I've gotten I'm always satisfied. I have gotten 4 Haircuts from him so far, and every time he does an unbelievable job. I would set an appointment up with him a day before because he's usually booked up. (He's that good) I have recommended him to my friends. 5/5 Stars.

I like coming here to get haircuts minus a few of the staff they all do a great job. The reason I gotta give them a low rating though is because their hours are a suggestion at best. They never seem to be here when they say they’re going to open or stay until they’re supposed to close. Most mornings if you show up to get a haircut when they open be prepared for them to open at least an hour late (if you’re that lucky), or if you’re gonna try to swing by after work to get a haircut you’re most likely going to get turned away and told to come back another day.

AK Fadez is an awesome place! There’s no limitations to what these guys can do, I would recommend an appointment you can almost immediately go in and start your haircut right away... my barber is Mourad and he is amazing and very funny and calm, he’s not rough and I feel fresh and look like a new man every time I leave that place, everyone I know adores my haircuts and can’t get enough of my hair. When I get a top notch fade and trim I feel good and look good, Mourad pays attention to all details! So don’t hesitate... give them a call and schedule your appointment! You won’t be disappointed :-)

Told Anthony what I didn't want and what I wanted and he did sure shape me up quick and good. Best haircut in Anchorage and there is no splitting hairs on that! I arrived at non-peak hours and had zero wait time. Shop is clean and has a great atmosphere.

0 stars!!! Rude! First off I called to see if someone could cut my hair asap..."yeah come on in". Get in there, sit down....not one word said to me. Sat there a good 20mins....nothing. I'm sitting up in there like I'm damn invisible. Another guy walks in...he's greeted. I got up and just left. I thought that was pretty messed up and will never step foot in the place, take someone or recommend it. Pretty disappointed.

Heard nothing but good things about this place, absolutely butchered my hair. Can’t sugar coat it; 0 fade, told the dude I wanted a low skin fade and a shape up for my mop I was rocking up top - he told me to get a medium - sure - I’m cool with a medium - it does last longer - and then he pretty much hit me with the high and tight. Was excited to get a good haircut. From Fairbanks where decent haircuts are hard come by - ended up spending 30$ for a cut I could have done myself. Like I said a lot of people swear by this place, maybe I got unlucky and should have been more specific with the cut I wanted, but a medium skin fade is fairly straight forward, didn’t know I needed to break it down more than that.

I'm posting for my boyfriend who had a terrible haircut from this place. The barber who cut his hair did a horrible job at cutting it but did a good job hiding it till my boyfriend washed it for the first time after the cut. They've put an absurd amount of hair wax and hairspray to make it look good. After washing it, we noticed that they have created a cowlick on top of his head that made the next barber who fixed his hair laugh. This was our second time coming to AK Fadez and probably our last.
