There is a reason the prices aren't anywhere in plain sight. $22.00 for a haircut??? This isn't a salon it's a barber shop. I went with my fiancée when he needed a trim and this place popped up in a search. It is definitely not a friendly atmosphere for women. Even my fiancée commented that the men in there acted like they'd never seen a woman before. As soon as we walked in the guy cutting hair was looking at his watch telling us he didn't know if he could get to us. Do you really think it's cool making people feel unwelcome as soon as they come in? Are you living in the dark ages? This place is definitely going to go under with service like this.

I gave him a rough idea with a picture and explaining what I wanted and he got started. after half an hour he was finished and I was extremely satisfied on his work. the shade on the sides looked really good and the style I showed him was copied very throughly. the price is very reasonable and I had a good time. Finally decided to stop by and I am glad that I did. Scott is extremely friendly and professional. He really cares about his customers. I did not have an appointment and walked in about 10mins til 12. Instead of trying to squeeze me in before his 12 o'clock appointment and rushing me through or making his 12 o'clock wait a few mins he offered me a drink and called to confirm his 12 o'clock was still coming. This to me says a lot because most people would have done just the opposite fearing that the walk-in customer may leave, but Scott values his customers and their time. He also was extremely helpful on choosing a new cut and style. I enjoyed visting with him while I waited and will with out a doubt be going back! The front facing has, in large vinyl print, “WALK-INS WELCOME”. We drove up, and there’s a handwritten note on the door that said, “NO WALK-INS TODAY. GO TO OUR WEBSITE FOR APPOINTMENTS.” There wasn’t a single car in the parking lot (besides the person who was working there). The employee was just sitting in a chair doing nothing (we could see them through the window). We will definitely never go back. They obviously weren’t busy, and wouldn’t accept a simple electric clipper haircut customer (it literally takes 5 minutes to cut my husband’s hair).

Classic barber's vibe from the namesake blue chairs and white barber's jacket to the straight razor nape shave and line up. There are plenty of places you can go when you need a haircut, but the Blue Chair is a place you can actually look forward to visiting. Scott does a masterful job cutting hair and truly provides the traditional barber shop experience. He's not out to shovel a bunch of people through the doors. I’m from Florida and Travel from alabaster to Florida quite often and I’m accustomed to a real barber that pays good attention to detail and makes me feel welcome and I’ve tried a few barbers around Alabaster and Pelham and when I tell you this is now my Alabama barber, Scott will be my barber of choice anytime I’m anywhere near Pelham/alabaster. He was very welcoming and nice, made me feel like I was a regular but it was my first time, before doing anything he made sure we were on the same page about what I wanted cut and then started, never did I feel rushed or uncomfortable. Honestly my best experience I’ve had at a barber in a long time and my only good experience in Alabama.
