Visited Sweet lou's bakery on July 3rd from 7am-8:30am while traveling. Place was nice and very chic. Staff was friendly and greeted us warmly, however, there was a lot of flaws we saw. After being open for a about an hour, it was clear to us that staff was unfamiliar of the place and menu. The restaurant was poorly stocked for the day as they ran out of items such as orange juice early in the morning with only 2 previous customers. Off the bat, were served old coffee (evident by the temperature and taste). When asked for a highchair for an infant, we were given a filthy booster chair that was still covered in crusty food. the chair was installed incorrectly. We wiped up the chair and installed it correctly ourselves. When ordering, we had to repeat our order 3 times giving suspicion that they did not know the menu. With only us in the restaurant to cook for, our food took over 30 mins to complete. We could overhear debate on where things were located in the restaurant and what was included for each dish. From the window we watched the cook and server, rearrange our food with their bare hands - without gloves, and proceed to talk and correct each other on what each dish needed. The kitchen soon enough filled up with smoke, and ventilation was not turn on, only after items started to burn. The whole place became very smoky. once we received our food, my husband was served raw Chicken Fried steak (was brown on the outside, but completely raw in the inside), hash browns were overcooked, eggs were overcooked and rubbery, and french toast was overly doused in sugar. We still ate our food, however, it was evident that the cook and server did not know what they were doing.
