Check your order! I ordered 2 orders of Smothered Hash Browns.. 1 with chili... it had large chunks of grisly fat in the ham, 1 with gravy, no onions or peppers. They forgot the gravy... so I called... I went back and got gravy, it wasn't ready when I walked in, the waitress went in the back and brought me a cup with gravy in it....the cup didn't feel warm so I checked it when I got to my car (stuck my finger in the cup)...the gravy was cold.... ok I can deal with this...I own a microwave... got home, microwaved the gravy, started to pour it on... AND...noticed my hash browns were mixed with onions. ( I asked for no onions)....I gave up and threw it away. Please.. when you order, check your order! Don't waste your money like I did! The only reason I gave this 1 star is because google wouldn't let me post with out picking a star.

I first visited Sweet Lou’s in Torrington a few years ago during my initial, introductory exposure to the community at the invitation of some locals I had met who were devotees of the place. Since then, anytime I had occasion to pass through Torrington, I made sure to “darken their door.” It is a coveted destination for many on their way to somewhere else...whether they be motorcycle enthusiasts heading to Sturgis or Tour buses on their way to Devil’s Tower or Yellowstone. The creative menu is only outdistanced by the efforts and caring of their devoted staff, who clearly love what they do and will make every effort to put smiles on the faces of their clientele. Anyone who frequents cozy, independent restaurants in small town America knows how challenging that can be at times, but that is part of the allure and adventure of places such as this, don’t you think? The unpretentious eclectic decor, in combination with their imaginative, value priced menu, makes Sweet Lou’s Bakery a “must visit” for residents and visitors alike. I was so impressed with my repeated experiences at the restaurant, Sweet Lou’s played a small, but not insignificant role in my decision to retire here a few months ago. It is a microcosm of the Torrington community, frequented by immensely interesting characters. Enjoy this wonderful slice of small town Americana!

The biscuits and gravy were awesome!

Most excellent food at a decent price. The only issue I have is with the state of Wyoming not requiring HVAC attends in restaurants. When the cook burned fish, you could sneak it through the entire restaurant. Great food, great food great food

A very nice place to take a break. The pastries are tasty. A very friendly and smiling welcome from the three people, especially the little girl to whom we offered 2 gadjets Chinese and Japanese.

It was such a nice lunch for my first day back at work! The lady (sorry, I don't know her name) was so kind and warm! And the food was phenomenal. A chicken salad wrap, with a healthy portion of chips, and a buncha berries and grapes with some frosting. Aw yiss♥

I ordered a regular turkey sandwich off the menu, but was given ham. I sent it back, and repeated what I wanted. After a while the server came back and told me it would still be a while since they were out of chicken. After clarifying for the third time that I wanted turkey, they finally got it right. There was no apology or offer to make it up to me in any way.

Visited Sweet lou's bakery on July 3rd from 7am-8:30am while traveling. Place was nice and very chic. Staff was friendly and greeted us warmly, however, there was a lot of flaws we saw. After being open for a about an hour, it was clear to us that staff was unfamiliar of the place and menu. The restaurant was poorly stocked for the day as they ran out of items such as orange juice early in the morning with only 2 previous customers. Off the bat, were served old coffee (evident by the temperature and taste). When asked for a highchair for an infant, we were given a filthy booster chair that was still covered in crusty food. the chair was installed incorrectly. We wiped up the chair and installed it correctly ourselves. When ordering, we had to repeat our order 3 times giving suspicion that they did not know the menu. With only us in the restaurant to cook for, our food took over 30 mins to complete. We could overhear debate on where things were located in the restaurant and what was included for each dish. From the window we watched the cook and server, rearrange our food with their bare hands - without gloves, and proceed to talk and correct each other on what each dish needed. The kitchen soon enough filled up with smoke, and ventilation was not turn on, only after items started to burn. The whole place became very smoky. once we received our food, my husband was served raw Chicken Fried steak (was brown on the outside, but completely raw in the inside), hash browns were overcooked, eggs were overcooked and rubbery, and french toast was overly doused in sugar. We still ate our food, however, it was evident that the cook and server did not know what they were doing.
