Looked this place up on Google and got real excited to go. Their website said they were open until 6pm so I headed out to try a sandwich for the first time. I got there at 3:04 and looked up at the menu. An employee noticed and said if you're looking at sandwiches we're not serving them any more. I didnt see that on their home page or online menu (easily anyway) all I saw was open until 6. I drive clear across town to get there 4 minutes after 3:00 to be told I was 4 whole minutes too late. Won't go back

Your breads have been a part of our meals for many years. We, our children and grandchildren love your breads. You have been shared with families across the US when we fly many times a loaf or two of will bread fly in our carry on. You have taken the guess work out of shopping for those picky folks we like gifting and no matter what we purchase it is always the right gift. I do have a couple of friends that like the certificates so they can choose their favorite item. As busy as you are I have always been treated with kindness from everyone who has served me. thank you for the wonderful job you do in our community. I come here often and while the service is hit and miss, the food is always good. However, I just watched an employee drop some to go/coffee cup lids on the floor, then proceed to pick them up and put them in the holder for customers to use. When I called her out on it, she said they fell straight up and she had gloves on so it was okay. I have worked in food service and this was NEVER acceptable. Plus she picked items up off the floor in gloves and didn't change them when she went behind the counter. Be aware if you drink the coffee with a lid or eat lunch. Makes me wonder what else they continue to use after it's been dropped on the floor...

I am actually sad to write this review... That being said we live in walking distance from a Great Harvest in Boise and our family are regular customers. We love the place. So when I saw one in Twin, I said perfect! I went inside at 7:15am on March 26th for a breakfast sandwich to go. The building was clean & there were 3 men baking in the back that politely said good morning. But there was a younger girl working the front of the place who did not appear to enjoy working there or desire to politely answer my questions. I asked a couple questions about what came on the sandwich, and she asked me if I had read the menu and pointed above. I said "Yes but" and she interupinte me saying "Okay then". I uncomfortably ordered my sandwich adding extra avocado. She asked if I wanted a half or a whole. I said a half, sure. But was then charged for a full, when I brought it to her attention she informed me "It's the same price either way." So I asked her to make a full if that's the policy, a bit confused by it. Then when my sandwhich was finished I politely said "Thank you." regardless of the service provided. And to ad insult to injury the reply was not a 'You're Welcome' it was ''Mhm" with a head nod. The service was not anything close to the standard of what I've had at many other Great Harvests and I was very unimpressed. Oh, and get to my car and to just ice the cake, there was no avocado on my breakfast sandwhich.

I love this place. Their Cinnamon Chip bread is scrumptiously delicious. They give free samples of their breads, and the samples are full slices of bread, not just a bite. A friend of mine in NH sent me a video on social media that showed how the bread is made here. After watching this, I rushed here the next morning. I bought a loaf of cinnamon chip bread and I think its the most delicious bread I've ever had. It was still warm when I bought it, and they provided me a plastic bag in which to store it after it cooled off in about 3 hours. And I loved the fact that they have a super friendly employee right when you walk in that gives you free samples of fresh bread. As I write this review, I'm craving their bread again...

This place is almost always full of people when I visit & it's not hard to see why, when you walk in, the smell of fresh baked goods hits your nose, the portions of their bread samples (optional butter always available) are a grand snack & I'm always tempted to buy a loaf when I visit, especially because I can try before I buy! The prices for a full loaf are extremely reasonable considering the time & money it would cost to produce a product similar at home!

We were in Anchorage for a few days after a couple weeks exploring Alaska. Our hotel was nearby to this place, but we didn't come across it until the last day. What a mistake that was! The bread and sandwiches coming out of this place are amazing. I'll always remember walking up, being asked if I wanted a sample, then handed a HUGE slice of bread as my 'sample'. It was delicious and made me want to order an entire sandwich from them and one of their ridiculously large cinnamon buns. Stop reading this and go now!

I always enjoy their complimentary samples of their freshly baked treats and breads. I have been to the Meridian shop as well but their sandwiches are much smaller for the same price :( I prefer the Boise shop.

My daughter is allergic to peanuts, and I get that it's our prob, not thiers, but I was disappointed that they used the same knife to cut a sample of bread as they did to cut thru a peanut butter blondie. It wouldn't be that hard keep but samples separate. Their breads are divine. But not super affordable.

Three weeks in a row came in at Noon to buy a simple loaf of white bread and the shelves are almost bare with a 5 o clock close time. It's a real shame as this place used to be fantastic. Now it's like the people working there don't make the effort to keep product on the shelf. What are your employees doing for 5 hours if there is no product to sell and the store is closed on Sundays? Perfect opportunity for competition to take the money and run!

My only complaint is that they only have normal coffee. It wasn’t very good coffee either as it made me very jittery and not very awake. We finally found the best breakfast sandwich in town - the grilled panini, garlic spread and two layers of cheese not to mention the bacon and egg has us coming back regularly. Couldn't wait to post this review. Came here for a cinnamon roll and coffee and realized I've been missing out in life. They have two lines. One is the the order line and the other is a bread sample line. A BREAD SAMPLE LINE! Tried the Rustic white sour dough and it is hands down the best sour dough I've ever had. Cinnamon roll was amazing and the Khaladi brothers Americano was on point! I am going to miss this place. Although maybe they ship it to the lower 48??

I've been going to Great Harvest since it opened in the renovated Bi Rite Drugstore building. The bread is incredible--crisp crust with a chewy, moist, flavorful and delicious crumb no matter what kind you try. They just started making sourdough and it too is really good. The sandwiches and soup are healthy and tasty, and I have heard they are introducing salads soon. GH is a great stop for lunch but best (I think!) for a later afternoon coffee/tea and treat break. They make great cookies--the best peanut butter cookies in the state--and the brownies are wicked good. A less guilt-inducing pastry is the Savannah bar--an oatmeal crumb crust with berry compote on top. No palm oil here--everything is unapologetically made with butter, as it should be. Fresh, crisp sandwich ingredients, luscious pastries and fantastic bread--that's what keeps me coming in.

The sandwich was surprisingly small for the amt we paid, but I eat small portions so it worked out fine. However, the wait took forever which is the reason for the docked star. The best part about this place is the little station where they give out samples of their bread. They are so generous with the "sample" they give and the bread is warm and delicious.

I absolutely adore this Great Harvest location. I stop by on my way to work and buy Cinna-Minis, or a couple loaves of coffee cake for my employees in the mornings. Outstanding place for breads, cookies, sandwiches that are high quality and made locally. This is not a discount bakery and you will pay a premium for their products. I think it's worth it in the end. The bakery rotates the types of breads that are made on any given day so if you're looking for a loaf of something in particular, make sure it's on the schedule. Some days there is carry over into the following day, other days it's sold out within hours of them opening their doors. If you have your heart (or a meal) set on having something in particular, be early!

Came for lunch right at noon and didn't have to wait in line. I enjoyed the turkey sandwich, but the chicken salad sandwich is what my friends said they always order. Their desserts (cookies and brownies) are tasty as well. Can order ahead of time, or they have sit-down areas to enjoy your meal there. I hear taking home their cinnamon bread loaf and making french toast out of it is AMAZING! ;)

Well, I don't know. Something has changed, I feel like I am begging for retail incentives that have been freely provided for many years. Presently, the incentives are still provided, but with a biased attitude towards me for having asked about them, and following through with my purchase punch cards. The pastries were both savory and sweet and very filling. Today when my wife and youngest son and I had lunch there, it was busy, as is customary at lunch, but the atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing. The employee who took our orders made sure to double check that they were correct. The manager and owner, Annjanette even came out of the kitchen to chat a bit and make sure our dining experience was pleasant and top-notch. Is it lunchtime yet? I'd like to go back! The potato soup was creamy with smoked bacon in it. It was filling and fantastic!

The smell in this shop makes me want to live in their cupboards like a mouse! Beautiful tempting displays of all sorts of bread, a very clear chalkboard listing of which breads are available on which days, and a very patient girl at the counter who was willing to let me order pretty much one of everything for my office. Their cinnamon rolls are huge, and I was lucky enough to get one fresh out of the oven (they had to pack the icing seperately, but didn't miss a beat over the situation). I will be back!

Wow! This place was amazing! We were met with friendly smiles whom offered up huge samples of their different breads. We managed to save room for a couple of sandwiches that were just as amazing! Their cinnamon roll, ham and cheese roll, and the smoked salmon sandwich will have you coming back for more! I really wished I had smuggled some back in my suitcase! ~sigh~ We will return on our next visit to Anchorage.

The sweet employee compensated me with a different-yet-similar loaf, even after I assured her I was perfectly happy to pay for it. HOLY MOLY this place is good. I took a bite of my Turkey and Pepper Jack panini and instantly wanted another one before I was even finished. The chipotle sauce was really good, the turkey itself was flavorful and sliced thick, and the bread... lord. Also, they have cinnamon rolls the size of your head and give out samples. The bread and service is great. My wife worked at a Great Harvest in Salem for a while and I can hardly eat breat bought at a grocery store. However, the ownership's decision not to open other locations and the franchises decision not to let others open other locations locally is why they get 2 stars. We have enough demand in Anchorage for another location to succeed. Driving to the heart of mid-town traffic prevents more people from eating healthy bread. I bought a mixer and a grinder and I make my own bread soley to avoid driving to their single location for a single item in mid-town. OPEN MORE!

I ordered a sandwich and they made it wrong. I had to drive all the way back because I wanted the correct sandwich that I specifically ordered and had her repeat back to me the first time. Then I did the same thing, ask her to repeat back to me what I wanted, when I went back. Drove all the way back to work only to find out it was wrong AGAIN! I got refunded my sandwich and my coworkers sandwich that I had ordered but still very irritated about who made the sandwiches today during lunch and it wasn’t even that busy.

When i began planning my first ever trip to Boise from Grand Rapids MI, several brochures recommended thai i visit this place. I told the worker at the counter about how i had made it a point to stop in, she treated me like royalty! I tried samples of their potato dill bread and blueberry lemon "dessert" bread. Both were amazing. I ordered a grilled veggie sandwhich and it was divine! I am coming back to Boise next March and you can bet I will be back!!! Reasonable price for my sandwhich.
