What can you say when a donuts place says it's open at a certain time, but has no selection? I arrived early in the morning around 7am and they said they wouldn't have anything available until 8. When I came back at 8 it was 30mins before any donuts were ready. When I did finally get some donuts they were average at best. Why be open if you're not going to have product? Especially when that product is nothing to brag about. I know I won't be back, and my suggestion is that; unless you have a lot of time to burn, just find someplace else.

We ordered 100 Hot Cross Buns for Palm Sunday. I must have told them the wrong date for pick up. When we walked in to pick up our order, we all realized the mistake. Diana checked with the baker and they started to work right then on our order - mind you this is 4pm on Saturday. Diana delivered the delicious buns to our home that evening at 8pm. How is that for SERVICE??!!!

The pastries were delicious, however, I was very disappointed in the staff. The two women working in the front today were not very friendly, and one seemed very pretentious - not an ideal trait to have for someone working in customer service!

I just went here today and I'm so mad that I've never been here before. Excellent service as soon as walked through the door by a very nice dark haired woman. She was very helpful. The almond cookie and cinnamon sugar donut I had were both amazingly delicious. I'm definitely going back soon.

They have My favorite chocolate doughnuts and excellent breads! I usually get a radio bar for myself, which is indulgent. Their cakes (I think they're pound cakes!) are just what i didn't know that i totally wanted. This place has a reputation, and for good reasons. Find out for yourself

I normally love everything I buy from Westhampton Bakery. I bought a Strawberry pie last week and was terribly disappointed. Instead of a mouth full of strawberries I had a mouth full of jam. There were no halved strawberries in the pie. The best description of the pie would be strawberry jam pie with whipped cream.

Well I'm giving a 2 and not a 1 just because I've enjoyed their products in the past and they made our wedding cake in 1996, but I hear ownership has changed since then, so they probably don't even deserve the three. The complaint I have today is that I was drawn in by the giant sign that says fresh strawberry pies and cakes. Parking is very difficult here anyway, but more difficult today because construction was going on in the front so I had to park across the 4 Lane busy street. I came in to get a fresh strawberry cake or pie and they had neither because they said they didn't have any fresh strawberries. Don't know how difficult it is to make a trip to one of the 10 grocery stores within a mile, but I guess it was too much effort. But not more effort than I put forth in trying to get into the shop to buy one of the advertised cakes or pies. Not happy and with all of the other bakeries to go to that are phenomenal there's no reason to return, especially when parking and access is so difficult on a regular basis. And at $25 a cake besides no discount offered for the lack of strawberries, which is the main draw of the cake, I think I'd pass anyway, but who would know, because there was nothing to pass on. instead of excuses, if they ever encounter someone like me who's greatly disappointed after much effort to come into the shop, maybe they should offer them a cookie at least if not offering a discount.

Took the kids to pick something out. The lady working there was awesome with them. And of course their sinful treats are phenomenal. It's been there forever and it's got that local legend vibe. My favorite stuff is the macaroons, radar bars, cream puffs coconut pies..... Their donuts are excellent..... It's a bakery, I like it all. If you've never been there you're missing out.

A friend brought me some "Lady Locks", otherwise known as cream horns, today. They are the best I've had in decades! If you like them, get them here, not at the grocery store. They were light, flaky and drenched in powdered sugar. Not to be beat!

Me and the wife came here and got some butterscotch cookies, elephant ear, cheese danish, and doughnuts. Every item we got absolutely delicious. Elephant ear crispy on outside but soft inside, and the cheese danish was the best I've had in a long time. Will be coming back for pies and cakes. I found my pastry shop. P.S. lady who checked us out was a delight and informative.

I called to have a custom cookie order. The woman on the phone said I needed to bring in my own cutters and they’d be priced individually. I purchased cutters and brought them in. When I arrived they said they needed a minimum order of 6 dozen. When I asked about a minimum order previously nothing was provided. Horrible customer service and waste of my time and money.

Westhampton Pastry Shop is one of the finest bakeries in America and one of the trasures of Richmond. Owner operated by Boots Rogers, it is one of the few large scale retail bakeries left around and I predict is irreplaceable when Boots retires. Why? Because it's way too much work for anybody else, and that is if you had the skill and experience. Nobody makes doughnuts better than Boots either. Far too complicated and trouble for most retail bakeries, mainly because you can't make doughnuts in an oven, they're fried. Unlike other doughnuts you find in grocery stores and KK, these doughnuts are still sheeted on a table and cut with a hand cutter, and that's why these are the best yeast raised doughnuts that you'll find anywhere. Not frozen, not extruded, but by hand, fresh, every morning! Lastly, you don't tell the artist how to paint, just be glad that you can still get the masterpiece, whenever he can have it ready. Or, you can go pick up some doughnuts at the grocery store....Boots doesn't care. He's going to sell those 100 dozen that he makes every morning with our without you.

Had the worst cake experience ever with this bakery. Ordered my son's 1st year birthday cake two weeks ahead of time. They gave me a bundt cake and did not tell me that's what it was!!! It was filled with icing in the middle. The artwork on the picture provided was soo shodily done. The color i had asked was not what they did but i took the cake because i really didnt have time to figure out something else too many errands to run. I hoped nothing else was wrong with the cake until I cut the cake and the middle started to sink and my guest were surprised and exclaimed that it was sinking!!! Meanwhile I paid $50 for the cake 30 for the cake and 20 for the deco (which was deplorable! based on pictures i had seen of what they can do). I wish i could post photos as i have photos of the sinking cake!! Cake was dry too and not good! Lesson learnt: I will stick to whole foods and Kroger - never go wrong. Atleast their standard is guaranteed. I always believed in specialty bakeries but this experience, worst ever!!!
