Good execution of French pastries. The croissants are intended for sandwiches, but they make great sandwiches. The sweet pastries are generally glazed with an orange glaze, buy if you're okay with that, they're good. They brew Greenberries coffee, too, which we like.

Love this sweet spot! My daughter and I try to get there several times a month to sample their scrumptious and creatively baked goodies and sip on coffee. They also have lovely lunch and breakfast savory dishes and take orders for parties and celebrations. Isabelle is doing an amazing job running this small downtown business. Definitely stop by.

Working across the street is a dangerous place to be! I have easy access to all the most delicious things! Right now, I'm on stuck on the Peachy Keen, a sandwich with peaches, goat cheese, basil and honey, soooo good! Heritage has sweet and savory options, keeping the balance. We come to Harrisonburg quite frequently with my husband's job. It is so much fun when traveling to find those special quintessential places to dine. Heritage Bakery & Cafe' is just that! I came in today and got the buntd with assorted fruit topping and a cup of tea. Let me tell you it was delish!! We will definitely be putting this shoppe on our top to return list.

The staff was very friendly but they told us the muffins were amazing. We were skeptical as they were all gluten free. We were assured they would taste normal and delicious. They were dry and tasteless. They should carry regular muffins with gluten if they are going to say the place is known for its muffins.

One of my favorite lunch stops in downtown Harrisonburg. They have the best shaded, pet friendly, beautiful patio to enjoy with your food and people watch street downtown. The staff is super nice and even got my dog some water and brought food out. The price is super affordable for the amenities you get. For roughly ten bucks, I got a delicious sandwich, local green salad and a hunk of fruit for roughly 10 bucks. 10/10

Heritage Bakery is absolutely my favorite place to Harrisonburg. It offers the coziness of a mom & pop cafe along with the pastries and meals that keep you coming back. It is my go-to place to bring friends and family from out of town, and every time we go they ALWAYS say it was one of the cutest places they have been to! Above all that, the owners and workers at the cafe are incredibly kind, accommodating, and sweet. They make you feel special every time you order. Heritage will always be my favorite part about Harrisonburg, and you should DEFINITELY stop by if you're driving through town!

Drove down 81 from PA on our way to Gatlinburg, TN, and decided to stop in Harrisonburg for a bite to eat. Walking through town we found Heritage attached to the Visitor's Center. What a delight! Quiche served in the morning topped off with a wonderful apple turnover. My Wife and I heartily recommend stopping in if you are passing through Harrisonburg!

This is such a sweet bakery. You must follow them on Facebook, their display case changes each day and they post the most delicious photos! The flavors are creative and everything is always very whimsical in appearance. For such fresh food I've never had to wait long for lunch or breakfast. Kid friendly, pet friendly outdoors, totally my favorite bakery ever.

They're very cute and it's a nice atmosphere. I've been here several times and had varying experiences. The crumb bars are generally quite good, as was the ginger cookie I had, and my husband's bacon egg and cheese croissant was tasty. Unfortunately, I got a spinach egg and cheese croissant, and the spinach was just a few raw leaves on top of the egg. I expected sauteed spinach with some sort of seasoning. It had no flavor, which was very disappointing, but luckily smothering it in Cholula helped some. Macaron had a very hard, sort of hollow shell, which I don't think is supposed to happen. The coffee is fairly average and nothing special. I do wish they had decaf, but the couple times I've asked they've said they can make some but their tone makes it sound like it would be a big inconvenience, so I always just say thanks anyway. Sort of awkward customer service! I'd rather them just say it wasn't available and save us both the awkwardness. Haha Overall not totally incredible, but a nice place to sit outside on a cool day, and there are some good pastries as well!

I love this bakery. Not only are the sandwiches and salads delicious, but the baked goods are wonderful and different every day. I love treating myself to lunch here! Also, I recently ordered a special order 9” cake to celebrate an award that my workplace won, and the cake was the best on I have ever eaten. The cake was moist, the frosting not too sweet and it was beautiful decorated with flowers and a macaron. They communicated well with me about the order and I couldn’t have been more pleased. Highly recommend!

I’d heard good things about this bakery and I wasn’t disappointed. I stopped to grab Macarons to go and wished I’d had time to stay. People were gathered and enjoying each other’s company with fabulous baked goods, and drinks served in lovely teapots, cups and saucers. Macaron flavors today: Jalepeno or Chocolate Carmel. I’m looking forward to returning and staying a while (and there’s decent outdoor seating too)

Isabelle and Brenda have created something special right in downtown Harrisonburg. A cozy little place adjoining the visitor center they offer great options for breakfast and lunch along with super desserts and treats that often make the decision difficult. Do I go with the cheesecake slice, or the squirrel shaped ginger cookie? Well, when they have the cheesecake that isn't as hard of a choice. A great place to stop at while visiting downtown, or an excuse to go there!

Very nice little shop, looks like it is locally owned and run. My wife and I were celebrating our 1 year anniversary and they were very accommodating as we wanted a cobbler similar to our wedding desert in the same dish. They had it prepped perfectly with their own little touches and we destroyed (consumed) it. Thanks again and highly recommend if you are in the area/hitting up the farmers market.

A true Harrisonburg Gem. With fair prices (pastries mostly under $4), strong coffee, a creative unique menu, and a friendly staff; Heritage Bakery is Harrisonburg's premier flagship artistan pastery shop. High quality local ingredients from the co-op are served, but you couldn't tell from the price. Truly, one of the most enjoyable culinary experiences to be had in the Shenandoah valley. Side note: this place is objectively better in quality of product, price, and atmosphere, than the more popular nearby Bella Gelato. (Seriously, some items are double the price like why what) But Heritage is the place you wanna be. It's lit.

Oh my gosh their sticky bun flavors are out of this world!!!! Strawberry basil, peanut butter cookies and cream...I’d be in trouble if I lived closer to Heritage Bakery. Prices are a little expensive, but that is to be expected from a smaller business.
