Didn't like the place.. that just my opinion
Sunday brunch is a particular treat - try it, you'll love it.
Great affordable yummy place.
I quite enjoyed my portobello panini sandwich, and my son liked his veggie burger. Nice space and friendly staff too.
The servers are always grumpy & non personable. BUT the bigger issue occurred when I went for breakfast with my family... it was beyond acceptable! The boy working the prep line kept wiping his nose w his hand. Then sneezing and repeating the wipe. At first it was his sleeve then his full on hand, over and over like a 2 year old child. It grossed me out so bad I complained to the 3 female servers at the counter (one was actually working the prep line). He never stopped to go wash his hands and kept on doing it while I was there. Note: this was all before I got my food, needless to say I didn't enjoy my meal. Unforunately, the germ damage was already done by the nice (not so nice) muffin basket he prepared and brought to the table (we ate before we realized his snot was all over them). A. HEALTH CODE VIOLATION B. Get some friendlier staff
Yep, when I'm driving through Bristol I always stop in.
I’ve called 20 minutes ahead for a to go order 3 times now, and shown up to grab my food without my Order being in the system yet.
Great place for a coffee and a treat
I go to this place when my school advisory goes out to breakfast or lunch! They have the BEST CHOCOLATE CROISSANTS and COFFEE! Love this place!
Great coffee, great atmosphere, perfect place for a casual meeting.
Good local bagel place with breakfast and lunch menus. The bagel selection isn't huge and the prices are high which is why I only gave it four stars.
Best southwestern I’ve ever had.
I absolutely love the coffee. A must stop when you are in the area.
That's it, that's the last time! My husband and I have been saying that for a while but today was the final straw. We ordered two egg sandwiches and a bagel. It was not very busy. We watched the only serving waitress take her break and go eat outside while orders sat waiting. One customer actually went to the window and got his food himself. Waitress came back from break. We had been waiting 20 minutes. I know this because when I went up to ask the staff about ETA she snidely remarked, "It's only been 20 minutes," complete with eye roll, and then walked away. Very rude! Ten minutes later food came. We had to get it to go at that point. This is the 5th time in a row the staff has been RUDE! I understand if you are backed up but don't be rude about it. Customer service is the most important thing to me so I will take my business elsewhere. Too bad because this used to be our go-to spot in hinesburg.
Amazing bagels and lattes!!
Nice. I got the pancakes and they were delicious. I come here all the time after church, and it's reliably good.
Love to chill at Bristol with my home-squad. I recommend the Ho Chi Bowl. A+
The food is great which is the only reason I keep going back. It seems like every single time I go there they get my order wrong. Sunday they completely forgot to make my daughter's food. This morning they didn't put greens on my sandwich like I asked. These are just examples from this week alone. They've been messing up my order for a long time. At first I ignored it because I figured it was just a little mistake but when it's every single time it gets old. I've decided I'm going to take my business elsewhere because at least I'll get what I asked for.
Great, local food. Made with care and concern for being healthy.
Very cozy and casual. Staff is super friendly and service is good. Great menu too.
A Cafe. Limited menu and good fare. Service is spotty from inexperienced staff.
EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE SERVICE LATELY. GET A CERTAIN COFFEE DAILY 3/4 OF THE TIME ITS NOT CORRECT. EVERY SERVER SHOULD BE TRAINED THE EXACT SAME WAY SO EVERY COFFEE IS PERFECT EACH TIME IT GOES OUT. LETS NOT GET STARTED ON THE FOOD.
Easy distance from Mt FILO. Ice cream yummy. Frozen ice refreshing
This place has so much potential, but comes up short in delivery. The store is beautiful inside. The open kitchen looks awesome. There are even some bar seats, but nobody sits there. Sandwiches are small, expensive, and aren't that great. Baked goods are very sub-standard. The bagel was toasted very lightly and a very thin smear of vegetable cream cheese that was not great. It's garden season. It was only 1 of three options for cream cheese. Scallion was the only other flavored cream cheese. The lemon scone I had was chewy and not what I expected. The choices are always the same, nothing seems special. The coffee is decent. Definitely not making a special trip.
Great coffee, sinfully good baked treats. Friendly staff and lovely sunshine.
Best spot in town!
Have been many times for breakfast & lunch-always good. Was excited to hear they were going to open for dinner. Went last night & super great food for price. Love they have delicious gluten free options and non-alcohol beer and good selection of wines. Not sure I get the bad ratings-hasn’t been our experience at all. Seems they’re working hard to improve food & service.
Great food and plenty of hot Green Mountain coffee
Just not worth the $
Best bread bakery around
I asked if the corn chowder was vegetarian and they said it was so I ordered it and paid. Then they realize that they’re all out and neither cashier knows how to do a refund. So I ask for a smoothie instead - it was literally just juice and it was disgusting. I was not happy with the service especially since no one was apologetic that they made this mistake.
Great food, kind of pricey
Only disappointment is that you can2get one of their delicious breakfast sandwiches after noon.
Oh my we went to check out their fresh bagels, can i just say whoa melted in my mouth, thats some goodness right there, they sell just about anything within coffee and doughnuts and bagels are concerned, straight up aweeessome
Pricey and not such a warm atmosphere. The older lady lacks friendliness
They hardly put any meat on their sandwiches for the high price
Poor service, the food quality has gone downhill. I don't know if they have new bakers now, but it feels like they started cutting major corners in the last year and a half/two years- no clue what happened.... The bagels and bread used to be excellent. Now they are hard and dense. Menu was a bit pricey for the quality as well. Tea selection was nice though...
Rude service, long wait (45 min for 2 poached eggs) and wrong orders every time. The only thing good there, is wifi.
This place gets worse every time I visit. A 20 minute wait for an order of toast that had to be sent back because it wasn't toasted. Ugh.
This place is constantly disappointing. Food is good.. mostly due to the lack of choices in the area. On multiple occasions I ordered a coffee to-go and both the cup and lid smelled like a moldy basement. I have no doubt they are storing their supplies in a tucked away stingy (hopefully not wet) storage area. This smell was so bad that I had to go across the street and get a cup from the gas station to continue drinking the coffee. That's my biggest complain because its disgusting. Other notable items: Check the pre-made sandwiches before leaving I paid for a meat breakfast sandwich because that is the shelf I grabbed it off of, only to open it up to an egg and cheese bagel. I tried to avoid this once and order a sandwich only for it to sit there after the bell rang for 12 minutes, yes I timed it and no it wasn't very busy. I wouldn't be so harsh with a 1-star review but this place is FAR from the 4 stars it has now.
Delicious bagels! I wish there was a larger selection of cream cheeses, but still fantastic
A little pricey, but nice day old selection. Room for 6 to10 friends to sit and visit.
Food is great, service is awful. Been probably 10 times and 8 out of the 10 times I've had to wait an egregious amount of time. Such a bummer as the food is great, but I can be the only person in the store and still wait way too long.
Good, fancy, all natural healthy foods. Friendly staff.
Based off everything I’ve tried so far, the food is really good. My favorite are the new sweet potato fries. However I find the service a bit hig and miss. I’ve had really great experiences with some of the people there. However like today, with only two other people eating in the whole restaurant and multiple people working, I waited 10 minutes to even be acknowledged by the employees. Ironically to order the sweet potato fries. That being said, it speaks for how good the food is.
Always a treat to eat at the Bristol Bakery. The staff is friendly and attentive and has accommodated my family many times. Rest assured, while their baked goods are excellent, it's SO MUCH MORE than a bakery (full breakfast/lunch/dinner entrees, fresh brewed iced coffees/teas, a variety of hot coffee/teas, etc)! Conveniently located in central Hinesburg.
Good for bagels, baked goods, great sandwiches and lunch options. All homemade stuff Nd often busy but good and comfortable place to enjoy a bite or if need baked goods, cakes cookies, pastries for special events.
Service staff was friendly. We ordered breakfast. Prices were a tad high, food turned out underwhelming. Atmosphere is really good, very clean restaurant, food just ok.
25 minute wait for two bagels, it wasn't busy...it's actually the third time I've had this happen here this year, and the last
Yum, yum!
Great new dinner menu. Friendly service, tasty food, and reasonable prices. I'd like everyone to eat here, so that this place can become a thing in our town. And no, I'm not an owner.
Was not impressed home fries were terrible. Tasted like they were re heated asked white toast got wheat . I didn’t complain because of my time frame but was disappointed. Also had to listen to employees bickering very unprofessional. And then they have a tip jar out which hey that’s ok . But then clean and put away your dishes to they want. I doubt I would go there again papa nicks is better .
40 minute wait for a scoop of Mac and cheese to go. The second sandwich sat in the window ready 15 minutes before the scoop of Mac was even made. No indication that there would be a wait when we placed our order. Only on cook one the line. Shame on the business owner for not making sure his staff can handle the traffic of people. Why waste 40 minutes waiting when you drive to Bristol cliffs cafe 20 minutes away and get your food faster than if you stayed in Hinesburg.
Great option for breakfast in the area. Easy ordering at the counter, then quick service out to the table. I got bacon, egg, and cheese on a plain bagel and it was great! Definitely coming back when I'm in the area. Bonus - if you're not here for breakfast, they have ice cream too... or maybe even when you are there for breakfast!
Amazing ambience and location. But no hummus or tuna? Really? This place used to be truly awesome - I hope the new management can up things just a bit here - the community would respond in kind.
Great service, great food.
Good bakery, worthwhile for brunching. Generous platters.
I love the Bristol Bakery in Hinesburg's food. Bagels, pastries, sandwiches all very delicious. Love it. But the service isn't great some of the employees are downright rude to customers. The milkshakes are absolutely awful. It's milky soup. I've gotten a few really good ones, which is why I go back in hopes I'll get another one well made. Guess I'll have to just stick with the yummy bagels after this last attempt. Sorely disappointed.
Pricey as it's healthy and locally sourced.
Everytime I go in there it takes 20 mins to get a bagel. They take the order and your money quickly yes, but getting your order is a different story. Staff is off in la la land, confused and have no pep in there step. I've lost all hope in this place. Oh and I was 1 out of 4 customers!!!
Always delicious
Casual country cafe setting with tasty food selection at tables and wooden booths. Serve yourself drinks and desserts are available as well.
Lovely food, convenient location, only downside is the parking.
Not a good experience. They were out of a couple of Cr. Cheese choices and they only had been open for 15 minutes. They also gave me the wrong muffin.
Lovely Cafe. Good coffee and food. The customer service depends on the day...I guess on the person.
If I could give zero stars I would. This restaurant has so much wasted potential. The food is just ok and the staff seems to turnover a lot. I've been coming here a lot recently and every time I regret that I didn't get a sandwich somewhere else.
I love this bakery! Delicious food for breakfast and lunch, friendly staff who learn your name and preferences, warm, calm, clean atmosphere.
Friendly staff great atmosphere
Perfect breakfast and coffee spot. From oats to breakfast buritto, the food is prepared with flavour and care. Good luck in expanding to include a dinner menu - think you'll do great.
Hit or miss, like other reviewers have said. If you order a sandwich to eat at the cafe, you get "extras" a couple bagel chips and a pickle. Order the same sandwich to go and you just get the sandwich. I find the sandwiches to be especially small, I've actually gone out to my car and come back in to complain about the size...and I'm not a picky person. Definitely better places in town for lunch.
This location (Hinesburg) is SO hit or miss. I swear, 50% of the time your order is messed up or if they get your order correct, the people behind the counter are extremely rude. The rare time everything goes smoothly the food is great and the atmosphere is beautiful, but extremely overpriced for what you get.
Unpredictable service and quality. Always polite
It was good but way to expensive
Didn't get what we ordered, turkey was served cold in place of warm chicken in the soup. Cashier had no idea what was going on, not her fault she was left alone for her first day.
I really want to like this place, but I just can't. Food is good, prices are reasonable, and staff are friendly, but there just aren't enough of them. This must be a strategic decision by the owner because it has been a constant problem for years at this location and at the Bristol, VT location. Staff your place accordingly, and I'll heap some love on it. But until then, I'll eat elsewhere. To potential diners: Don't show up hungry or "hangry" since the waiting time will be agonizing.
Took an out of town business associate to the cafe yesterday. He got a salad, I got a burger. Guy in a white shirt brought him his salad, and asked if the letter should stay on the table, and I said yes waiting for my burger. After hearing the bell in the kitchen ring and watching the window be full of food from left to right (that hasn't been Piling up for 10 minutes easily) I got up and walked to the window and got my own food and went to sit down and eat it. Total fail this time around, usually service is good, but this time out was a train wreck.
Cold fries. Not Luke warm, not room temperature, but legit cold. My “Cuban” sandwich had BBQ pulled pork, boiled ham on top of oozing amount of yellow mustard. The cook seemed to pay more attention to the state of the door into the kitchen, then the state of the food.
Breakfast burrito was great! I love when you can taste that the good is real food. Staff was friendly, coffee is great!
Great for a morning coffee or weekend breakfast, as well as an afternoon snack. Good pastries.
Wrap was good but the latte and chai were awful. Cold, no flavor. Person at the counter did not know what she was doing.
Baked goods are pretty good.
Good food, nice decor and interior. Definitely going to eat there again.
Excellent burgers! Local ingredients!Yummy!
Excellent and friendly.
This is tough for me. I like the Bristol Bakery, and enjoy going there for breakfast and coffee. We have gone there twice for dinner and have been disappointed. Both times we ordered simple items only to find that they were out. We're talking things like burgers here. We'll try again, hopefully with better results.
Nice bakery, located in Hinesburg (not Bristol). Good pastries, decent coffee. Great place to sit and do some work on a week day!
Great tasting local foods, drinks and charm.
My first time there, after hearing good things about it, and I now highly recommend the Bristol Bakery & Cafe in Hinesburg, VT for a nice meal or snack + beverage. I got the French Toast and it was great!
Great baked goods but there were rarely questions asked when confused about my order, just assumptions made resulting in the wrong order. Good location and still a regular stop though.
Great food great people
Favorite spot for good food and coffee
The Coffee was wonderful, full bodied and very flavorful. Everyone i was with really enjoined every thing they got. Everything is so fresh and and has a great "home made" feel. For sure the best coffee stop in the Hinesburg area, definitely where i will be stopping when i an down that way.
This is my first visit and I must say it's amazing! I've driven by numerous times and finally decided to make a special trip here and I'm glad I did! Food is good, coffee is good, service is quick and the staff is friendly! I definitely recommend this place and will be back again.
Still very good but it's not the same as 20 years ago, maybe that is better for some, but I don't.
Decent coffee but WAY understaffed
Clean. Excellent sandwiches and baked goods
Great for lunch and breakfast. Always interesting menu choices
Someone spent a lot of money and decorating time here. Part of the planned community Thistle Hills, seen in the surrounding buildings and homes. Beautiful array of baked good and biscotti. Coffee skills are in the learning phase, S L O W service. I'd go back just to see if they can get their act together. They made good with a coupon for a return, will try.
Bristol Bakery & Cafe has two locations. The original one is in Bristol, Vermont and the second location in Hinesburg, Vermont. This review is for the second location. I have stopped in just for a cup of coffee. However, the food looks really good and smells good served from the kitchen to the table which contain local ingredients. They have a full menu of breakfast and lunch food as well as pastries. The baristas and kitchen staff are very friendly and would serve you in a timely manner. You cannot miss Bristol Bakery & Cafe while driving along route 116.
Very delicious home made bread and sandwiches and mmmm
