This was my first time visiting Shugga Hi and I do say that it was amazing. My two brothers took me for my birthday. The owner came up to us introduced herself and shook our hands. There was live entertainment, the owner and the whole restaurant sung Happy Birthday and danced with me, and the food was amazing. Before I left the owner gave me a hug. I will definitely be going back. It reminded me of Sunday dinner with my family growing up.

This place is AMAZING! Their omelettes, potatoes, breakfast burrito, breakfast bowl are all so good. The staff is warm and makes you feel like family. We were staying near here so it was super convenient. + there was live music. Wish i could come every weekend.

Best service I have ever had! Fun, welcoming atmosphere with live jazz music. This is a family-run restaurant where you leave feeling part of the family too (or at least wishing you where part!) The food was wonderful- highly recommend the chicken and waffles. Very worth the drive! This was one of my favorite experiences while in Nashville.

We waited a long time to be seated, as we had a large party, but it was definitely worth the wait! The buffet was delicious and had something for everyone from eggs, to doughnut casserole, to baked chicken, fried fish, greens and cabbage, bacon, grits, biscuits, and more! The mimosas were good as well as the other drinks. The live music set was on point as well. All in all, I'll be back!

We went for breakfast and enjoyed “Da Bomb” (see picture) and the fried chicken and waffle. Both were delicious. We received great service with a smile and enjoyed the meal while easy jazz radio played. The chicken was mildly spicy and the “Henny” syrup was a special addition to the plate. In addition to the dining area is a small sitting area in the bakery, at the entrance, where you can have a quick pastry and coffee if you don’t want a made to order item from the menu. They also had small hand sanitizers on each table. Thanks Shugga Hi! Can’t wait to try some other items on the menu.

My daughter and I were in Nashville for a wedding and happened on Shugga Hi Bakery and Cafe. What a treat! The fried catfish strips were light and perfectly crispy, without being dry. The veggie stuffed biscuits are so tasty! Great food and great service! We can't wait to go back for Sunday brunch!

I like this place but it takes to long to get your food. If it's lunch time and I go there and order a grill chicken salad, it can take 40 minutes for my food to be served! Listen, I've been here twice, both times I had to get my food to go because it takes to 40 minutes for my food to be served. Most people only get an hour for lunch, some only get half hour!! It's about 10 minutes to get here from my job!!! Maybe this is a place that doesn't expect the lunch crowd and I know from the service that we have received doing our lunch, Shugga Hi Bakery does not expect the lunch crowd! The two stars is all it gets!

My friends and I were visiting Nashville and randomly stopped in there for breakfast Saturday morning and it was awesome! Literally, the best service I've experienced. We had a 3 people check in on us to make sure we were doing good throughout our visit. On top of that, the food was delicious. They also had a very good musician playing some smooth R&B which really set the scene for a nice and relaxing time. I highly recommend this gem in Nashville.

An absolute gem! From the fine and friendly customer service to the delicious and huge portioned plates, this place is hard to beat for a great meal. Our family of 4 felt right at home and everyone enjoyed the wonderful live music! The best though is saved last... the homemade desserts are truly to die for!!! We had the breakfast bowl, waffles and breakfast burrito... all very good and couldn’t finish any plate because the portions were so big! We had the chocolate bailey’s cake for dessert - truly one of the best cakes I’ve had in my life - so moist and delicious! If you want a delicious meal (or dessert) delivered with a friendly smile at a very affordable price, this place is for you!

Great spot to get brunch. Had a solid chicken and waffles. Chicken needed to cook slightly less time to make it just a tad less dry (overall it was very crispy and almost perfect). Waffle was decent. I appreciated how they played the dish with the ramekin of syrup on the side. Enjoyed the jazz guitar dude. Staff seemed very friendly. Honestly, I was torn between four and five stars. Let's go with 4.5!

I enjoy the Jazz and Eggs Brunch on Sundays at Shugga Hi especially with friends. It's such a good time. I also stop in after work just to grab a bag of cookies. I truly didn't think anyone could make snickerdoodles better than mine, but I've been proven wrong. Not only are theirs better than mine, they are twice as big. I no longer have to bake my own cookies. Great bakery and great food. I recommend eating the dessert first.

We really enjoyed the food and service! Prices were quite reasonable. The food all tasted really fresh, except the turkey sausage which really was unimpressive. The spicy whipped cream on the breakfast bowl was so yum! I know it's not a kids' restaurant, but despite that they have highchairs, there is no changing table in the restroom. Staff was very kid friendly.

Stopped by ShuggaHi the other day and wow. Great service and friendly too. I ordered the Strawberry Cake and took two cookies to go. The cake was just yummy. It was moist, flavorful and the frosting was light and just right on sweetness. It was a huge slice! I saved my cookies for the next day and both almond joy and chocolate chip cookies with milk made my sweet tooth very happy. The decor of ShuggaHi is welcoming, clean and modern. And from the outside, you can't miss the robin egg color of the building. I'm looking forward to brunching here as well as to grabbing an evening snack. They plan to have live music on weekends... can't wait!

I had the Chicken & Waffles on a Saturday morning. traiffic was light and the live jazz started at 9am sharp. Great vibe and the waffles were very light and airy. Most waffles I get are very heavy. I prefer light. Chicken and Waffles is a great combo and I recommend theirs. Add this to your rotation at the very least. I look forward to trying other dishes.

The wonderfully talented Sonja Hopkins performed here and I'm obsessed with bakeries so a place that incorporates breakfast and beautiful music (my two favorite things) is a "must try". I stopped in early afternoon. The atmosphere during the day is very laid-back. It seems to have a more intimate vibe during the night. I opted for the 'vegetable da bomb' for a brunch option. It was a welcome surprised. I'm always in search of a great biscuit. This was very good. It was stuffed with fresh spinach and bell peppers the eggs inside were scrambled not too hard. But the best part about it was the biscuit, fluffy and light with a perfect bread-filling ratio. Only thing could have made it better is if I could actually have tasted the honey drizzle on top that was advertised. I gave this place a 4 because my plate lacked presentation and the main server during the rush who seemed to be somewhat overwhelmed. I look forward to returning here with my daughter.

I love this place so much! The servers are always so friendly, and besides their warm Nashville welcome, you walk into the best smelling cafe in east Nashville. No joke. Your mouth will literally water when you get inside the door. I have been here at least 5 times and it’s been top notch every time! My favorite dish is the chicken fried chicken sandwich.
