Great food, everything was delicious and really a quick service for lunch which we needed due to a appointment nearby. The desserts were simply amazing. All of the meal was fantastic and the place is really nice and I would totally recommended it to anyone. Our entire meal took about 40-45 mins with dessert and paying. Perfect!

I literally drive by this place every single day since I moved to Jackson. I finally stopped in for lunch on Thursday. Boy have I been missing out! Best yet it's a local restaurant, which I love to support local businesses. The food was fantastic, plenty of choices and the host were super friendly! It's a nice hidden gem off Highland/Wiley Parker Rd you just have to check out!!

Our waitress, Natalie, was wonderful. My mom had a lovely 3 cheese quiche, and my brother had roast beef, both dishes were very picturesque. Steer clear of the salmon, though. It's the only seafood option on the menu, and it was subpar and dry. Service is certainly a 5, but food options for those looking for something other than quiche are drastically limited.

Lovely little bistro with DELICIOUS baked goods. They've pies, cakes, cookies, etc. Their dinner menu is tasty as well. Strawberry seems to be their signature, they bring out both honey butter and strawberry butter with soft rolls!

Really delicious food, lovely wait staff. SLOW KITCHEN!!!! We were there for an HOUR BEFORE GETTING FOOD FOR A LARGE GROUP. On our second visit, party of 3, it took over 30 minutes to get our salads. So that’s why the one star taken off. I really love their menu. It’s CLEAN! It gets crowded for lunch so go early and maybe you’ll get faster service.

I went with a large group, but the service was excellent. Dumplins is known for its desserts, particularly for its strawberry cake, but the rest of the food is delicious as well. The table rolls are *fantastic*; I also ordered shrimp & grits. They were loaded with bacon & the shrimp were gigantic. The dish was cheesier than it is normally served, but still very tasty. During the meal, the owner introduced himself and thanked us for choosing Dumplins. I'll be back!

Fantastic food. We arrived a little close to closing time and the service was quite awful. Two very friendly girls but they hardly ever came to the table. Took 10 minutes to take our drink and never got a refill. The meal was satisfying and I would recommend it to others. Also the cake was incredible and there was a variety of options. 8/10 will go again.

Menus were dirty floor was too, chicken tetrazenie was the size of a side dish, and very overcooked, consistence of baby food. Tiny half dish of dressing for an averaged sized salad. Bread was oily and butter was some sort of margarine spread. Disappointing for the cost, save your money and go somewhere else.

All you'll need to know about Dumplins in Jackson TN, is that they're probably the best kept restaurant secret in the area and they have been for decades. Their food is great. Really good. Take a look at their menu and pick something at random and you'll not be dissappointed. My favorite has always been Chicken and Rice, so is my wife's but usually one or the other of us picks another menu item so as to encourage conversation over lunch. If you're local to Jackson and haven't eaten at Dumplins then you aren't talking much with regular folk in the know. If you're traveling through or visiting Jackson, drop in for delicious rolls and a reasonably priced meal. As a customer I've ordered just about every menu item over a 25+ year period and have loved every one of them. I wish they'd give me a discount for this review because I'd dine there more often if they did.

My wife and I went here for lunch. The meal started great with warm bread and strawberry butter, but after that it went downhill quick. We both ordered chicken and dumplings that were very bland. I ordered water and got tea. The Waitress was very slow and inattentive. When she finally brought us our check I just handed her my credit card because I was in a hurry. That was a mistake. They charge wrong order to my card. We won’t be going back.

Went back to her table and watched bathroom door. When woman finally left, she.came hurrying to bathroom. Stayed in there a while. Then came out. This is my favorite restaurant in Jackson, hands down! My sister and I meet here (oh, but how we need to meet more regularly!) on her lunch hour. We usually order whatever is the special of the day, and it is indeed special. It has the ambience of a tearoom, but - wait, guys - the heartiness of a bistro- a la regular restaurant, too. Generous portion sizes, attentive service. Love this place!

We were traveling though Jackson and saw the billboard for Dumplins. We stopped for lunch and I must say we were not disappointed. When we walked through the door, there was a case of deserts like I've never seen. I had the soup of the day, problano-cheese and the southwestern wrap which I loved. I could have made a meal of the sweet rolls we were served before our lunch arrived. The portions were great. I will be stopping there again when I pass through Jackson.

Loved the food. We visited on a Saturday, so I had the special, which was Roast Beef. I also had the mashed potatoes and green beans. The roast beef was 3/4 of an inch thick, and I easily cut it with a fork. Everything was great, including the service. It has a pleasant atmosphere. We'll definitely be back, because there's so much on the menu that I want to try. The desserts are great too!

We were traveling and my wife saw a billboard for Dumplin's in Jackson Tennessee. Since we ended up spending the night in one of the hotels, we decided to locate Dumplins Bistro & Bakery. I wasn't sure what to expect in terms of food as most bakeries only serve sandwiches. This little bakery served a lot more than just sandwiches, my wife had Grilled Salmon on rice with green beans and I had Hamburger Steak with baked potato casserole and green beans. I also ordered a small side of chicken and dumplings to try. Our wonderful waitress brought out 2 rolls with 2 types of butter (one a strawberry spread and the other a creamy spread). Needless to say, all of the food was excellent. Since we were full, we ordered our cake slices to go. I couldn't make up my mind, so they cut a small slice of Carrot Cake and a small slice of Italian Cream Cake and treated it as one slice. I highly recommend Dumplins Bistro & Bakery to anyone traveling through Jackson Tennessee or who live in the area.

The food is pretty good but it's all ruined by the guy with the glasses they have up front, he's always rude and huffs and makes irritated faces at you if you take longer than two seconds to place or pick up an order. He sighed and shook his head when I asked if I could add a slice of pie to my order and threw the receipts at me. Super disappointing and I will be letting everyone know to be wary of this guy.

Holy cow! Found this gem on a roadtrip, and plan to stop on the way back home. Had the 3 veggie plate and the shrimp and grits after two baskets of rolls with butter and strawberry cream cheese. Then to top it off, took a slice of carrot cake and Italian cream cake for the road. And our waitress, Jessica, was sweeter than the icing! They close early, but oh so worth the stop.

EVERYTHING I PUT IN MY MOUTH WAS AMAZING!!!! I cannot believe I have lived 45 minutes from this place for years and never knew it existed....I ordered the dumplins, salad, sweet tea, and 2 desserts. Yes, I said TWO!! When you walk into this quaint small town restaurant, you are surrounded with succulent desserts. They could have given me a spoon/fork and I would have been content to just sit and sample all the goodies in the entry area! The decor is so unique and inviting. I can't wait to take my daughters back for a girls trip. Don't get me wrong...the first time I visited, I pulled in on my Harley with my bandana and jeans on and fit right in as well. The food is perfectly delicious. The chef clearly runs the kitchen with creativity and flavor!! The dumplins rivaled my grandmother's (I hope she never reads this), and the coconut pie was THE BEST I have ever had. Oh goodness . I almost forgot the strawberry butter!!!! Words cannot describe the yumminess of this butter...not too sweet, perfectly light and creamy, absolutely addictive. I am going to ask If they sell it by the quart next time!! If you live anywhere close to this little gem, you've gotta get out and visit!!

My family and I visited because they have a giant sign on I40 that states, “Best Desserts in West Tennessee.” Guess what? I agree. I had try several. I bought 5 of them. Chocolate Decadent Cake. Best chocolate cake I have ever eaten! Key lime pie. Delicious! Red velvet cake. Scrumptious! Coconut cake. Sweet coconuty goodness! German chocolate pie. I got this because YO frickin LO. The staff and cake decorator are absolutely amazing. I went there to do a cake tasting and I met with Janis. She did an amazing job of sketching my visions of wedding cakes I wanted and I even got to take the rest of the samples home with me. (They were very very generous portions). The owner even came and introduced himself and thanked me for coming and doing business with them. While I didn't eat any of the food besides sampling cakes, I will definitely be back along with my fiancée and try some of their delicious smelling meals.

The black bean burger either needs to be changed or the price needs to come down. The black bean burger patty seems like it came out of a Morning Star box that you could get from Krogers, and the bread - though nice - is almost three times thicker than the patty, and I mean both top and bottom layer. I wouldn't go for it. The fruit tea has always been my favorite drink, though on occasion it can taste a little watered down. The pitchers should have lids to avoid having anything fall inside since it's so open. Their rolls have changed at least twice, and the flavor of their butter isn't as strong or flavorful as it used to be. I could sit there eating their rolls and butter with their strawberry soup, which I don't think is even available anymore. Here's to hoping it's just because of the season and not because it's discontinued. I'm sad that, when I last visited, cheesecakes need to be ordered ahead of time to have it for dessert. I had hoped to get a slice to help make up for my sad meal the last time. Nothing doing. I'm not saying 'don't go there' I'm just saying I miss how it used to be. I do agree that the atmosphere is wonderful and charming, especially on a rainy day and the lights are dim and warm. Would be a nice place for a cozy date to rekindle a romance or connection, especially when business is slow and there's only a handful of customers.

It's cute and sweet, a place for southern ladies to have tea and cake. The food is good and the service is friendly. If you go, and you have room for dessert, the apple dumpling is especially delicious. Any salad or sandwich with strawberry is a good choice too. And those rolls!

I saw their billboard on the interstate and decided I would stop for some chicken and dumplings. They were some of the best I've ever had and the portions were enormous. They had homemade rolls and numerous homemade soups to choose from . All of them fantastic. All of their pies and cakes are homemade and I had to sample a piece of chocolate cream pie and it was fantastic as well. I highly recommend you make a stop, very short distance off of the interstate. Next time I come through I will be stopping again. Service was absolutely fantastic!

Saturday early lunch with the boyfriend. My shrimp & grits were rich & delicious! Side salad was very fresh & house dressing was good. His shrimp wrap was on the lighter side and had great flavor. Their rolls with strawberry butter... heavenly!!! It can hard to find a place that does a good job with both light & heavy options, this place nailed it!
