It was terrible worst cake ever . Dry and inedible . Wouldn't refund my money for a yucky cake we had to throw away. I will never ever go there again and recommended people to stay clear of this bakery and their dry awful cakes . Terrible customer service . I was so embarrassed this was a birthday cake for my brother . He couldn't even eat it.

This past Saturday everyone at the sweetery made a beautiful strawberry wedding cake for us with short notice. It was a huge hit!! Delicious as always!!! I highly recommend the sweetery!!! They always go above and beyond!!! All of their cakes are wonderful but my favorite is the strawberry. I have it every year on my birthday and other special occasions. Thank you all so much!!!

I purchased a custom birthday cake for a fellow employee at my place of work. Upon arrival at the Sweetery and seeing th cake I was EXTREMELY disappointed. The piping was done very badly and the entire cake just looked messy. Upon eating the cake, it tasted old and like a solid brick. This leads me to believe that it was a premise cake sitting in the freezer and they just threw some icing on it. This was very disappointing and embarrassing for me. I have pitched two cakes within this year and they have both been a HUGE let down....I’ve gotten better cakes from Walmart. I would suggest that if you need a cake to go look else where as the cakes here are not worth the high cost.

OMG! Bad place to eat is an UNDERSTATEMENT. I tried a bunch of different things on the menu, multiple times, simply for the fact that I like to support small businesses. What a mistake - it's all really bad. I don't understand how they're still open :/ Please don't waste your time or your money... I swear my 3 year old daughter can make an easy bake cake that tastes 100x better than anything they've got. SMH, fail @ buisness

I have lived in Anderson for 14 years, and this place has been here for as long as I can remember, yet, regrettably, this was my first visit. I had always heard my friends talk about this place but I never got around to it, but now let's get to the nitty gritty. First off, the place is spotless, well managed, and the staff is very friendly, 5/5 Secondly, the baked goods were in great quantity and looked nice (although I could only testify as to the taste of a small slice of chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting, which was only OK, the lemon bar, red velvet cookie, and cream cheese brownie) the taste was pretty much on par, 5/5. Third, the sandwiches were really nice in variety, my friend got the hero which he loved and I got the turkey club on whole wheat (which was toasted to perfection) with Mayo, honey mustard, bacon, tomato, and lettuce (effectively throwing health out the window) the turkey had amazing flavor and the bacon was crispy and nicely cooked (a pet peeve of mine, undercooked bacon) the tomatoes were fresh and the lettuce wasn't wilted (another pet peeve, wilted lettuce) it came with plain Lay's but the also had a couple other choices for a $1.00 (or so) upcharge. All in all, probably the best (and basically only) real deli/bakery in Anderson, loving it!

Waited 15 minutes for happy cow milk. Almost not worth it. I haven't tried food but some people seemed to like it. Nice atmosphere. Could be faster.

The staff is friendly and the food is quite delicious. Prices are reasonable, and the cakes are amazing. I highly recommend trying this place for your next cake. The sandwiches are great also. If you get a sandwich here for lunch, a small piece of cake is included.

The cakes are unbeatable the sandwiches are delicious and the wonderful ladies that work there always have a smile on their face and a warm welcome as soon as you walk in the door. Yesterday (July 22) my husband and I had an awesome lunch. He had the special ...turkey and roasted beet sandwich and I enjoyed the roast beef au juice. Delicious is the first word I think of. We enjoyed iced tea (strawberry flavored) and a piece of Italian Wedding Cake. Lucky for us it was Taste Test Tuesday. The Orange Dreamsicle cake was a hit with us. Service was wonderful and the experience was very welcoming. I had preordered a strawberry cake and it is fantastic. If you have not been to The Sweetery---GO. I wish they were located in our town. Support your local businesses... We will be back. This was not my first time and will not be the last.I will recommend to all my friends!

++"It was terrible worst cake ever..." LOL Such excess hyperbole just serves to make the review suspect! ++ I got the Peach Delite which was good; also a selection of bars which were good as well. Very friendly customer service. I must add that having shopped around, this place is a bit pricey for what it is. I can do "good" at home; when I go to a stand-alone bakery I'm looking for awesome. I'm willing to pay a premium for awesome but did not find it here.

The Sweetery is an Anderson institution. I moved away a number of years ago and so I didn't realize they had lunch. Recently, I was back in town and stopped in there to have a quick bite. I really enjoyed their chicken salad sandwich. The chicken salad had a touch of curry in it and I enjoyed it on a croissant. You get a little tiny slice of dessert with your lunch and so I chose the banana split cake that was on offer. Let's just say I wasn't disappointed. I basically looked that plate clean. The price of lunch was also an amazing deal. You can't get food that good at any fast food restaurant. And it's never going to be that fresh and that well prepared.

I've now had two different desserts from here for two celebrations, a Mississippi mud cake for a birthday and a chocolate/strawberry cake in the shape of a castle turret for a wedding, and I have to say they are DELICIOUS. Not to mention the castle turret cake was absolutely gorgeous. I like sweets, but don't like them overly sugary, which both desserts were, but they were so tasty I didn't mind!

I live out of town and ordered a cake for my sister's birthday . When she picked it up it was course and dense, and dry like cornbread! She took it back and the manager told her that there was "nothing wrong with it" and refused to make it right! Really ??? Thanks for ruining her birthday. We have ordered cakes from here for years and won't order anymore! Poor customer servuce!

Let me start off by saying the club sandwich is good. BUT too much honey mustard and the customer service is very poor!! Not to mention they give you small cake slices when you order to go.... they don't let you pick the chips or cake... and you would think for the high prices you would be able to pick your chips and cake and also receive a big piece of cake instead of a kids portion. The atmosphere is very dry just like the cake and the treats were not good. Def. will not go back, will just go to subway and/or firehouse for a sandwich.

I bought a cake for son on his birthday. It was a cookies and cream cake and it was terrible! Very bland tasting. The cake was chewy and tough like it was old. They barely put icing on it. When I went to the Sweetery with the cake I was told that the cake seemed fine to them. I would not have went through the trouble of driving 17 miles there if the cake was fine. The employees there are RUDE and the manager will give you the runaround. I was told that the manager was there but was not available. I later called to speak with a manager she told me she would call back and never did. I think the manager could care less about making things right with people and that is wrong. HUGE WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME! If 5 kids didn't eat the cake then there was obviously something WRONG. TERRIBLE MANAGMENT AND CUSTOMER SERVICE AND HORRID CAKES!

This place has a cool name but I hate to say it but their food is not all that great. It is totally true how they microwave their food. I'm sorry but when I see a microwave in a restaurant, it automatically screams "cheap" and "I could have stayed home for this". It's sad to say but you could get so much better food quality at a Publix.. and that's not even a restaurant.

I purchased a caramel cake. It was awful. It's in the trash if anyone wants some! I called to complain and was told to put it in the microwave, a $22.00 cake in the microwave! Anyways, I did. Guess what, it was still awful! I called back and was told to bring it back up there and I could get what ever I wanted. I just wanted my money back! I got back up there, and was told that the cake was delicious, and it was there signature recipe! I was also told that I could not have my money back and could only have a SMALL replacement cake! Which by the way was still dry!!!! Bring on the bad reviews! I do not play rude or bad cake!

I would have put a zero but could only out one. I looked on their website to see how long they were opened on a Saturday. It said that they were open till 3:30. We drove from Greenville so I could bring my Husband to eat their lunch. When we got there at 2:30 they said that the lunch orders close at 2:00. They weren't very friendly about the miscommunication between their website and when they actually close for lunch. She did offer to let me purchase some chick salad but I would have to go and buy my own bread. I will not be back with that same kind of treatment!! They were really rude.
