Great little cafe/bakery. French toast is not your regular French toast but a layered style available in the flavors. The eggs are only available poached.
Signe is amazing I called her with a special request for a cake for my daughter and I couldn't have been happier with them results.. she is one of them few true bakeries around. She has great breakfast and lunch with healthy options. And her baked goods surpass anybody in the area.
A very unique place for a light breakfast and wonderful baked goods. I had the deep dish French toast plate that Rachel Ray had featured on "The Food Network"...it is very good. We enjoyed our experience there.
Loved the Queen of Hearts cookie.
Food was delicious! Shrimp and grits were off the chain.
Signe made our wedding day as sweet as possible! She baked our wedding cake along with the other sweet treats for our dessert table. Not only did she make sure the presentation was stunning, but as expected the sweets were AMAZING! So many people complemented us on having such a wonderful dessert table. Despite living in a different state, Signe made it incredibly easy to work with her in finalizing all the details and tasting some sample cakes when we stopped by Hilton Head. Signe's Bakery is one of my favorite stops whenever we are in Hilton Head. So happy she was able to make our cake and dessert. Thank you for everything Signe!
AMAZING!! Signe did a wonderful job on our wedding cake this past April. The cake was everything we could have asked for, we met briefly to describe what we wanted, later I emailed Signe pictures of my wedding dress to incorporate the lace design into the cake...she nailed it! It turned out exactly how we had pictured and tasted inedible. We stayed in Hilton Head the week after the wedding with friends and family and for the entire week people were commenting on how good the cake tasted! We plan on going to Hilton Head on vacation in the future and we will definitely be stopping by for some more goodies.
Easter Dinner 2015 was absolutely delicious! I ordered the Lamb Dinner for 2 which was enjoyed Saturday evening after our traditional Swedish holiday smorgasboard at lunchtime. "Stor tack" (thank you in Swedish) for making our Easter meal stress-free and ever so tasty!
Cute place. Service is a bit on the slow side but that could be because there was only 1 person waiting tables. Shrimp and grits incredibly good! Checking out was a nightmare and the reason we'll not go back.
Loud
An Island treasure! We have been coming here for years and always have a delicious meal with friendly service.
Good service and good food
Excellent! Super fast service. Employees very nice. Food is like home cooking. Excellent food and service.
Fresh made from scratch salads, sandwiches and bakery. Excellant.
Food was good
We go there every time we come to town. Never had anything I did not like for lunch or desert.
Great food and great food presentation!
Yummy baked goods and breakfast. Great ambience.
I wish I could get one of everything! Awesome stuff.
Truly delicious
Great food but expensive
Wonderful food good people definitely stop by
The food was great.
Cute place in Hilton Head. I love the fact you can see them making everything. Its a real bakery. You can tell the pastries are fresh and homemade.
Great food, great bakery, nice atmosphere, but a little understaffed.
Signe's Heaven Bound Bakery is, hands down, my favorite local eatery. As an aficionado of big breakfasts, I love her unique take on French toast and her frittatas are to die for. For lunch, her tomato tart and stuffed spuds are my favorites. But the chicken jaxx salad is equally good. Obviously, I've tried several items on her menu. I love the fact that when I go to Signe's she not only has healthy options on her menu but she often uses fresh ingredients. If you're looking to indulge, however, you don't have to venture far. The front dining room houses a spacious showcase of yummy homemade cookies, cakes, bread and much more. I love munching on her scones and washing it down with a warm cup of coffee! The atmosphere at Signe's is fun and whimsical. Whenever my Midwestern family members come to visit, they always want to stop at Signe's ... more than once! In addition to a regular menu and bakery, Signe also is known for her wedding cakes. Her Facebooks and website boasts some bodacious bridal creations. For my wedding, I opted for a dessert table - with pies, cookies and cupcakes. My wedding was in 2008, and people STILL talk about that dessert table. It was so fun to pick more than one dessert. It really made my wedding very special.
Variety is different from most restaurants and our party of 6 all had an excellent meal. Very friendly and professional staff.
Great baked goods lovely atmosphere. Quaint. Not easily seen from road though.
Delicious, great service. Good for eating in or carry out.
Love this place...great for a light lunch! Wonderful atmosphere <><
YUM! Come here every year. Frittata, pastries, breads, fruit, salads, sandwiches--delicious! Can sit out or enjoy artful interior.
The food was decent. But our waitress seemed like she hated her life and everyone else around her.
Old fashion cafe with fantastic food. My kids and wife got the baked French toast and loved it. I got the apple and sausage pie and it was great. Fresh baked pies and bread and muffins were all top notch. Great little breakfast spot.
We had our wedding cake made by Signe, along with cupcakes and everything was perfect! The cake and cupcakes were beautiful and delicious, and Signe made the whole process really easy. I would highly recommend using Signe for your wedding needs
The Signe's Deep Dish French Toast is a great take on a classic dish. I'd recommend to anyone.
Great food and fun place to eat
Great food and drink in a good environment.
So delicious!! Friendly, casual atmosphere. The pastries are AMAZING!
Great a must stop
Great French Toast! Cookies are overpriced!!
Always delicious! Pound cake to die for.
Went for the french toast featured on Rachel Ray's show. It was okay, tasted more like eggs than toast. The frittata was better. The place was small, chairs uncomfortable, tables too small.
Somewhat disappointed bakery items look good blueberry muffin was OK, order of poached eggs with hashbrowns and cheese came without the cheese waitress was very nice but also heard her apologize to other patrons who’s order was not correct. This is the second time in a year we stop for breakfast and both times The menu was in accurate and the order was incorrect but the food was OK
Exquisite as usual! Poached eggs grits & bacon.
Fresh, good food. The BEST breakfast!
My favorite bakery on Hilton Head. I try to stop by every time I visit the island.
Great food! Great Service!!
One of the local favorites!! So you will love it !! Food is so fresh and tasty!!
I love this place! Great selection, always delicious!
A nice little place to ride your bike to. Most anybody will like this place. Waffles or French Toast? Get the waffles. The French Toast literally tastes like scrambled eggs infused into thick bread. Not good. The waffles were fine though.
Homey atmosphere. Great food. Good service. Favorite for locals !!!
My favorite for breakfast. The deep dish French toast is the best!!
One of the best cups of coffee I've ever had. Plus this woman's baking skills cannot get any better. These baked goods are heaven in your mouth.
What a fun, quirky hometown restaurant!! Great service & food!
Good service and food
A friend who is a regular Hilton Head visitor recommended Signe's for breakfast and did not steer us wrong. My husband tried the Rachel Ray favorite French toast and I got a crab quiche. Both were excellent. We also purchased some baked goods to bring home as gifts. Really tasty stuff. Worth the trip.
Best BIRTHDAY cake I ever had! Curry chicken delicious!
Signe's never disappoints. I have been a fan since the days they were in Sea Pines. The smoked ham and cheese with sprouts on eight- grain bread is indeed heavenly!
Always hit Signe's for breakfast or brunch before leaving the island! Fabulous treats and a great spot for a light meal!
Great deserts, visit and taste a new delight on our annual pilgrimage to Hilton Head.
The best special occasion cakes on the Island. Great sandwiches, salads and an interesting take home dinner menu. A little hard to find but worth the hunt.
Excellent service and very good food at reasonable prices. Baked goods a major plus! Now my fav.
Someone recommended this restaurant for baked goods, so I stopped by for two desserts to go. I asked the girl behind the counter what had been baked that day. She replied, "Nothing." I asked if there was a better time to stop in for fresh baked goods, and she said, "No, they just bake what we need and it comes out when we need it." I was very patient and polite, but got no clear answer about how to get fresh baked goods here. I bought a piece of pecan pie, which was small, but tasted okay. I also bought a piece of chocolate pound cake, which was dry and truly stale. I can't believe that all of the waitresses are that unhelpful, however, judging by the very old cake I bought, I do believe that you can't count on getting quality food here.
Great breakfast foods and awesome bakery
Some of the best food on Hilton Head Island. They offer excellent breakfast foods. The BlackBerry French toast is the best. I usually do takeout but when I have dined in the service was excellent. Their bakery goods and breads are top notch. Never had anything bad, but if you are only going to sample one thing, make it the key lime pound cake. Every visit I make to HHI I always stop by Signe's at least once. You will not be disappointed!
Our family loves Signe's! We come to HHI almost every year and we have to have breakfast at Signe's on the morning we leave!
Nice cafe. Nice staff.
Some good comfort breakfast here. Good service and loads of friendly people. You can also purchase tasty treats from the bakery side.
Baked goods were fine, deep dish french toast was fine. That's the most appropriate word that comes to mind: fine.
Love this place and awesome omelets
Very interesting menu (sausage and apple tart, deviled crab tart, and lots of watercress!). Shrimp and grits were the best I've had on the island.
Hidden gem on Hilton Head Island. Eclectic. Some outstanding breakfast choices served all day. Indoor outdoor seating. Friendly service. Fresh baked goods. A Hilton Head Island landmark. One of oldest restaurants on island.
Very good nice people. Very clean
My favorite place for lunch! I get the Super Salad which comes with your choice of Tarragon Chicken or Tuna Salad on a bed of greens AND 3 other choices of fresh salads! Then, I don't feel so guilty about choosing a yummy cookie or cupcake to go! I've been coming here since 1977....still the same after all these years!!
Food is great I recommend every one to go check it out.
The food was Fresh AND Flavorful. The staff friendly, cheerful, and inviting! We were on the island for eight days, and ate at many "up scale " restaurant". But none was as flavorful or had staff as friendly as Signe's Heaven
Love Signe’s! We always make a point to eat there every trip to Hilton Head!
What a delightful surprise! After deciding we didn't want to wait for 45 minutes a popular spot near the marina, we found Signe's through a google search. No waiting. Let me tell you this was OMG delicious. We both had the Deep Dish French Toast. My partner had the blueberry/blackberry and I had the original. Very simply, we lucked into a great breakfast. Highly recommended.
Service was awful felt like I was invincible. Got some baked goods and they tasted old and not flavorful. Lemon crumb cake had a faint hint of lemon disappointing. Key lime bread budding tasted very eggy like scrambled eggs.
Very good Shrimp & Grits!
The toughest part about going here is deciding what you want to eat ... I mean apart from wanting to eat everything. They don't have just the usual bakery/cafe fare, but really creative stuff. Try choosing between Swedish butter buns, Key lime bread pudding, and chocolate sour cream pound cake. I don't care much for Hilton Head Island, but I'll go back just to pack on a few pounds at this cafe. Oh, the staff are super friendly, too.
This place is apparently great for wedding cakes, but not so good for morning pastries. My wife and I visited and ordered a couple angel wing pastries with coffee. They were cold and tasted stale. We won't be back.
This is the BEST bakery and breakfast spot on the island. Ms. Signe is the original owner and has been in business longer than any other business on the island. She is great and so is her restaurant.
Honestly this place was just ok. The desserts that we bought after breakfast were all just ok. I was really disappointed because I was really excited about this place.
The "award winning" french toast tasted left over from yesterday. It required more butter and syrup than usual. The plate was glass, but the utensils plastic. Really?! Very few people there for breakfast. More came after 10:00.
DELICIOUS!
Hit this place for breakfast every time I'm in Hilton Head... food is always fantastic, the deep dish blueberry french toast is my favorite!
Rude staff. The food was nothing I would go back for. Soup was overly sweet. Went with group of five and no one liked their coffee.
I always visit this bakery when my family comes in town for vacation. They never disappoint! Prices are good and the baked goods are delicious!
Love their pastries. Check them out if you come to Hilton area
Love
I called way too late to ask about a delivery for my father's birthday. They delivered chocolate chip cookies that day, and my father says the cookies are delicious. Dad was thrilled, and so am I.
Awesome home made bakery goods! Fresh lunch fare.
Great place for breakfast or lunch and to take home dinner
Sorry I just find the menu very limited the food was good and the bakery goods are good but it's just not for me
great lite fare for lunch. delicious desserts
Enjoyed the keylime cream scones.
Excellent service and the food is amazing!!
Great food and really good servers. The freshly baked breads and pastries are the best on the island.
Excellent food & service started my day on a high note!
Very good. They really got somthing going!
We had an amazing wedding cake - thank you Signe's! It was even more beautiful than I imagined, had the design I was looking for and was the centerpiece of our reception. Each tier was a different flavor - pink lemonade, tiramisu, chocolate raspberry. We continue to hear how delicious and goregous the cake (and other smaller desserts we ordered from Signe's) were. Thank you so much!!
We always love this place we visit every time we come to HH
Amazing linzer cookies.
Great bakery and long standing island favorite
Excellent service with a variety of selections. Our food was delicious!!!!
Great all the time. Slow service
A very nice, friendly restaurant with very good food.
Went around 8:30am, thinking a bakery would have been busy baking before opening. Well I doubt it because everything I got seemed to be at least a day old. Or maybe their style of baking is crumbly? Got sandwiches for lunch too and they were just meh. Lacking flavor. Fruit cup seemed to be turning- off flavor was pronounced. Disappointed
Terrific breakfasts and service!
One of our favorite island choices. Always enjoyable.
Delicious Large portion and
Great, nice, and professional prople that work there but was a little disappointed in the taste of the sweets, I've had much better. I would suggest rice Krispy treats on the menu, they're always a hit and a traditional sweet.
Such a cute restaurant and bakery! Their blackberry deep dish French toast is delicious, as well as their corned beef hash! And I'm not normally a fan of corned beef either! They have a delicious curry chicken salad I recommend, too! Latina was so kind and helpful as well! We could come here every day for breakfast and lunch! We definitely plan to come here next time we are in Hilton Head!!
Wonderful deep dish French toast!
As a kid, Signe used to be at Harbour Town and when she expanded to her Arrow Road location, we as kids were devastated because we were not allowed to leave Sea Pines on our bikes. We begged our parents to take us there so we could spend our babysitting money on her chocolate chip cookie. Here 40+ years later and STIll the best Chocolate Chip cookie! Love Signes!
We showed up for lunch at 1:55 and they wouldn't serve us even though the lunch foods were still in the cooler on display. They would however serve baked goods.
Good service and food!
Nice people. Good food.
Wasn't the best....ate breakfast...i had the reknowned french toast....was more eggy and fluffy than traditional french toast, not my favorite... took home some bakery items....just ok....true fact, Wal-Mart's bakery is better....
Fantastic key lime bread pudding.
Just moved to the area and found this adorable cafe. My friend and I had two breakfast items and they were delicious! It's my new local stop to take all my family that come to visit.
Limited gluten free options. Frittata tastes good. You order at the counter, eat and then wait in line again to pay after - system doesn’t make sense if you’re in a rush.
Delicious home made food for sit down or take out ... Heavenly describes it ...
My daughter was married last fall and Signe created an adorable alligator/golf theme cake for the groom and a beautiful wedding cake. They were both delicious and Signe's designs were just what we asked for. I would highly recommend working with Signe for any special occasion.
Had lunch here - everything was so fresh and delicious! Service was great.
Good pie good food
