Freeman's is the best bakery in Florence. They recently renovated too! So now their shop is even bigger! Which is good because they can get busy! But even at its busiest the environment is cheerful, upbeat and fast paced. Whether they are slammed or you are the only one in the store, you can expected to always be greeted and helped within a very short period of time. From service to scones this place gets an A++ in my book. Take it from a Boston Native, the service here is just as competitive as any North End Bakery and equally as quick. My wife and I even got our wedding cake made here 5 years ago, I'll try to update this later with a few photos of the amazing cake they did for us!

Honestly, I use to hate red velvet cake but got it for my baby's 16th bday...must say it did not last overnight...and it was huge!! I loved the 3 layers with the nuts on the sides, the taste, and the way they securely boxed it up..didnt have to worry about it toppling out. The price was pretty decent too...my son loved it as did the rest of my family. Thank you...I won't be going to Walmart or food lion anymore now that I know you all are all I need for desserts!! Can't wait to come back!!!

Freeman's Bakery seems to be the premier sweet shoppe in Florence. Unless you visit a bakery section of a market, it stands alone for finding a wide and delicious selection of confections. Although they may be a little pricey, they have never disappointed and it is worth buying what you know will be superb. It was one of my first discoveries in Florence and I will continue to be a customer.

This bakery is by far the best one in Florence. I've already brought 2 cakes and a bunch of delicious goodies from them and was satisfied. Their work is definitely pro status and their customer service is A1. I will be purchasing another cake from them in 2 months for my son's birthday. If you want a party in your mouth come here. People are rude. Service is perfunctory at best. Staff is doing you a favor. But I could deal with that if the baked goods were GOOD! The cannolis SUCK. Okay, so maybe they dont know how to make a good cannoli... so I went back because many people said its the best in Florence. I bought an $18 cake. Single layer, decorated beautifully. Brought it to a dinner party and was mortified. The cake part was an inch high. The whole cake was icing. THEY ARE EXPENSIVE-- AND THE BAKED GOODS ARE TERRIBLE!!!!

Wonderful little bakery! Everything is so fresh when I go, and the seasonal offerings are often good. I've tried some of their pastries; the Napoleons were okay, but it may have just been me. Their cakes though? Amazing! I definitely recommend their salted caramel and turtle cupcakes. Very reasonably priced, beautifully decorated, and delicious! Petit Fours are also a good choice for get-togethers, parties, etc. Love picking up something every Friday :)

Well, you will be extremely satisfied with these HOMEMADE yes from Scratch baked items. We recently moved here to the low country and drove 80 miles for their cakes, cookies and other yummy sweets. Today my wife and child went there for the first time we order a half dozen of their cupcakes and some cookies to be honest my keylime cupcake was probably the best cupcake I ever tasted but it was not fresh at all it was dry and stale definitely was not fresh probably been sitting for at least 2 days. Chocolate chip cookies was fresh but didnt taste good. My wife loved her red velvet cupcake. I wouldnt go back to be honest due to none of the cupcakes being fresh and they were dry and stale.

I have been in love with Freeman's Bakery since I was a little girl. I've always been a huge fan of their birthday cake and their cake squares which are basically the same thing. I recently fell in love with their cookies. ALL of them. chocolate chip, sugar(and the iced ones), oatmeal raisin, butterscotch, snickerdoodles, M&M, just to name a few. There's so many and they are all great, in my opinion. But today... I experienced the cheese danish for the first time ever. WHERE have I been? I thought that I died and went to heaven. I have NEVER had a cheese danish that was that amazing. Trust me. I love a good cheese danish and have tasted MANY a cheese danish in my 27 years of life. Nothing has topped their cheese danish.

I found out about Freeman's from a neighbor that brought some cheese danishes one morning. I had a REAL cheese danish as a teenager and hadn't found anywhere that made them like that since. If your looking for REAL bakery items that aren't mass produced, this is the place.

I wanted a cake with a specific design for a memorial service. I went to the shop and there was a line but I was acknowledged appropriately. When my turn came, I told Carolyn what I wanted and discussed the sizes and prices. She went through the list of considerations, such as practical changes to the design and if I wanted the design piped by hand or the less expensive print. Given the occasion, I decided piping would be best. When I picked the cake up, I was absolutely amazed at how great it looked. It was beautiful. The attention to detail and effort put in to stay true to the design were evident. People who saw it immediately said, "Wow, that's a nice looking cake." Thank you so much, it means a lot to be able to present a nice gift to a friend going through rough times.
