If could give no stars would. Placed order, was completed wrong. When pointed out just wanted it corrected. Employees talked about customer where could hear. So decided just wanted the order cancelled. Then employee came into restaurant to argue with customer. Then owner even came out to tell customer she was wrong in being upset. There are so many more places to spend money than a place that wants to embarrass people who were there spending money at their place.

Charleston Delicatessen & Bakery in Summerville.... After reading some reviews on this bakery, my daughter Mercendia and I went into this business to try some of their desserts and after making a decision as to what we wanted, we grabbed drinks and waited patiently to be served. Three employees....two behind the counter and one walking toward us (she didn't speak either) put drinks into the cooler where we were standing, looked at us and kept doing what they were doing. None of the three acknowledged that we were even standing there waiting to be served. It wasn't until I stared the young lady down, she says...."I'll be right with you". But....she continued putting fruit in the blender...walking to the back and came back with absolutely nothing in her hand....opened up a freezer to look in it, and didn't take anything out, then closes it and proceeds to walk off again only this time she actually came from behind the counter and had the audacity to walk right past us! I kindly told my daughter to put their drinks right back in their cooler and let's go before my friendly smile leaves my face. The sad part is that I really wanted their chocolate cake

Awesome enough to go through traffic on the way to the beach. They didn't have my slice of blueberry cheesecake pound cake layer cake, but I got a slice of red velvet cheesecake pound cake layer cake. If this is confusing, the two types of layers are alternated to make a devinely huge and delicious cake!! Dream stuff...

I had placed an order for a Cake two weeks ago and received this today. I have not been to the bakery before nor tried their cakes yet. I placed the order because one of the reviewers mentioned she was happy with the birthday cake she orders. I requested a T-Rex and a monster truck. And received this. This is a $70-$80 cake with minimal effort into making each shape look smooth. You can see the finger prints on the shapes and the messiness on the entire thing. If they had told me they can’t accommodate a more defined smooth shapes I would have picked another Place or purchased the supplies I needed and made them at home. Such a disappointment.

I wish I could give it more stars! The danishes and bagels are good, but the cheesecakes are bad. I got a "chocolate swirl" cheesecake....it was apparently a banana chocolate cheesecake. Didn't taste cheesecake or chocolate, just LOTS of banana. The cookies aren't the best either, all kind of bland. I haven't tried eating a meal there though.

AMAZING PLACE! The food is unreal delicious, the service is friendly and speedy. Try the pimento cheese grits, the lox platter, their cake. I wish I could have their cream cheese shipped to me so I could have it each morning. Do yourself a favor and stop in if you are near summerville. It will be well worth your trip.

I could write a book. They were AMAZING. First of all, super nice and easy to work with. Great with communication and super reasonable prices. They threw in a couple of dozen cupcakes because my husband wanted chocolate. The wedding cake tasted amazing. I have had SEVEN people ask me where it was from since because they want them for their wedding/occasion. The decorating was spot on and they even added on the fresh flowers provided by our florists. Jessica and Allison were absolutely fantastic.

Oh my gosh! This place is incredible. So many choices. Breakfast and lunch all day. Tuesday-Saturday the restaurant is open until 9 pm. Not many breakfast places stay open after 3 where I'm from. I wish I took pictures for you, especially of the cakes which looked to be 8 in. tall and sold by the slice. I had a Bagelwich with scrambled eggs, pepper jack cheese, spinach, and onion on a salted, very fresh bagel. I loved it!

Excellent food BUT... VERY HIGH PRICES for deli food, atmosphere and self service. You can EASILY end up with a $35. - $40. bill (+ tip) for 2 sandwiches (which come with a pickle slice and a tiny dab of side salad) and 2 sodas. Even though you stand in line to place your order the cash register screen asks you for the tip amount you want to leave. I believe the selections are 15%, 20% or nothing.

Two things got my attention with this place. Delicatessen (which means Reuben sandwich - my favorite). And bakery (which means pastries - one of my favorite food groups). My go-to here is naturally the Reuben. I have tried the pastrami, corned beef and pastrami with corned beef. They are all very good and stacked full of fresh meat (not cold-cuts). I have also stepped outside the box and tried the Tomato pie and knish. Both were good, but I enjoyed the fresh sandwiches more. The desserts do not disappoint. They are large enough for two, but are so delicious, you will not want to share. If I am in the Oakbrook area and need a food fix, this is where I go.

I really love it here. I usually stop in before work for coffee and I switch it up with breakfast. Very low key but delicious. The baker makes the most amazing cakes and pastries ever, she is also very sweet. And all the other ladies and gentlemen who work there are very kind. If you want to go somewhere that gives you an almost home feeling with nice people definitely give it a try. PS the coffee is really good and it’s not 5 dollars for a cup :) (they also sell it ground up)

Good coffees, especially like hot chocolate with shot of espresso and whipped cream or French pressed coffee. The slices of cake are humongous! I take 2-3 days to eat one. French toast is mmmm good. Bagels and pretty much all the baked goods are yummy. Everything is kinda expensive but ok as a nice treat. One thing I really didnt like, I ordered the juevos rancheros and it was terrible. Shouldve known before hand being it's a deli in the south and I'm from Albuquerque New Mexico (lol) but it was really bad especially for $12. Pretty much 2 fried eggs over broken up hard corn tortilla taco shell with a bunch of not at all spicey, tomatoey salsa n a few beans. Seriously yuck! And when I told the lady at the counter she said "all I can really say is don't order it again." That kinda service could leave a bad taste in your mouth if the coffee and cakes weren't so good, lol. Still a nice little gem of a place.

Came on on September 7, 2018 for breakfast. I eat here alot because of the fantastic food. Today I got a mushroom, spinach and swiss omlette. I added sausage to it because I gotta have some meat on my plate at ALL times. Also got some cheesy grits and toast with it. These grits are some of the best around, creamy as hell and cooked right! And the 9-grain toast is awesome. This place has great food for any time of day!

I ordered an everything bagel with cream cheese, lox, capers, oinions, and tomatoes. All the ingredients seemed fresh and it was a very delicious breakfast. I look forward to trying it for lunch. There are a few tables and we get there early to ensure we get one because there always seems to be a breakfast crowd. There's a mix of people, from young children through grandparents. The back ground music is not too loud to drown out the conversation. This place is in a little strip mall but it's worth a visit.

I have been to many bakeries and have been impressed, but they have really out done themselves. I had a macaroon that was out of this world. We shared a blueberry danish and s pecan cheesecake. I drink decaf coffee, it was water filtered, no chemicals. The bathroom, or as they call it, the Loo, was very clean. This translates to me that their kitchen is clean too. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

I am insane for this place and have been for 8 years. Everything bakery wise is freshly divine. Each time I go, I load up on stuff to take home after dining. My favorites are the tomato pie and the cheese blintzes, but there are oh-so-many delights on the menu. Last time I was there I brought home a lovely chicken pot pie and a gorgeous potato knish along with my treats. I would live there if I could.

If you are looking for gluten free options, this is the place. I ordered a gluten free cake for a wedding shower and asked them to get creative. The decorations were perfect and the cake was delicious. It is still being talked about in a circle of people who used to "poo-poo" gluten-free options. This place is my go-to for baked goods.

The best desserts anywhere! I always order our birthday cakes from them and they are the best! The cake prices are around $35-$50 per cake but well worth it in my opinion. You want be disappointed. Breakfast is delicious! And the French press coffee is great! They have a big selection of pastries, muffins, cookies, cakes, pies and more.

I really love this place for the food. High quality, tasty stuff. I guess my only complaint was every time I've ordered a bagel sandwich, they always get it wrong. But it always tasted good so I hardly complained about it. But, when I did, they always fixed it. It's kind of one of those places that even if they forget something you don't care cause the food is amazing and they will always take care of it.

Closest thing to New Jersey Bagels. The Lox platter is fabulous. However not enough onion. Every time I ask for extra onion I am ignored. This happens twice on every visit. I ask the person that I ordered from for extra onions. When the platter is delivered it does not have extra onions and I ask the waitress. I have not ever received extra onions

I once had them rated at 5 stars, however on this visit I was a Lil disappointed. The food came out fast but was cold. For $22.43, I ordered 2 eggs w/ cheese, grits w/ bacon & jalapenos, bacon & 2ea pancakes with a coffee. The cheese in my eggs was melted but cold when it arrived, the grits was so cold that the cheese on top was still solid. theres no waitresses on hand to take your orders so you have to get in line and the line was almost to the door when it came time to order (I guess a good thing for them, which means business is good) however being that it's a small establishment it makes it hard to move around for your condiments & coffee etc. Will I return "YES" I'll just have to figure out when it's their slow time of the day, plus I have yet to try any of the pastries and they all look fantastic...

Definitely not southern biscuit, unless southern biscuit has the texture close to that of a cake. The tasty gravy was wasted on it. Finally tried Taylor Ham. Really salty and tasted like ham gone bad because of the vinegar (?) in it. The Reuben was tasty but very salty. The attitude of the cashier was unwelcoming. That sets the tone for the place.

Great food and service. I believe this place is actually better than East Bay Deli.

The food is good but a little pricey
