Great place to take a break while shopping on Main street. Great atmosphere in a historic building. Tasty baked goods and beverages too.
I have been to both Blue Flour locations. The food always tastes good and fresh! I was disappointed in my latest visit by receiving the wrong item (pound cake instead of banana bread) and not finding out until I got home. More disappointed that the pound cake seemed to lack flavor. The strawberry almond bar was fantastic though! The gentlemen that helped did seem new so I understand, just expected the better "usual" is all :)
Great food and a friendly staff
They have the most delicious baked goods. They make up for their quiches not having an actual pie crust.
Update!! Blue Flour Bakery Had to update this post since visiting Blue Flour Bakery. This is my first time here alone since they've taken over this retail space. I had the blueberry muffin and toasted pecan coffee. Everything was delicious and the staff was friendly. I will be back! First Citizen Cafe Locally sourced coffee from Turtle Creek Coffee and a decent selection of food. Also offers charging station for your phone and other accessories.
Great sandwiches, pastries, and coffees!! They have a ton of seating and a great location right in Main Street!! Great place to buy coffee and support something other than Starbucks!
Great spot for coffee and pastry near State Capitol.
Best biscuits in town!
Scene restaurant exceptionally fresh Sweetbay deliciousness must try to Strawberry shortbread bars and their brownies are to die for fresh coffee beautifully wonderfully scented teas worth every penny
Visiting from Utah. Loved this place. Tried house brew drip coffee and a couple of pastries; ginger lemon cookies, coffee cake muffins and rasp thumbprints the best out of 7 or 8 we tried. ( we had a group:) not just me.
Best quiche I've ever tasted.
This is a lovely bakery
So, I've had the baked goods and they are delicious! Yummy cookies, brownies, etc. Their lunch is good, but a basic sandwich. I had the chai latte, which is my go-to drink, so I've tried them all over the city, and the one at BFB is very meh and watery. However, the atmosphere is good and there are a couple large tables as well as a bar to plug in your devices.
Friendly place!!
Visited the Main Street location for the second time with my boyfriend today. I love the environment they've created and brought to Main. I love the Tri Bowl, and that they serve local everything including Loveland Cold Brew. The staff is knowledgable and friendly. 5 stars all the way. ❤️❤️
Let me preface this by saying that I rarely write poor reviews. I really want to love Blue Flour. It is so cute inside, and the food and coffee really is delicious. However, I have been there 3 times now and each time I go, I am so disappointed by the service. The girls that have served me each time have been rude, visibly annoyed when I asked a question, and overall just unpleasant. I wish I knew their names but they were both blonde haired girls that looked to be about college age. If it weren’t for my interactions with those two girls on three separate occasions, I would likely give it 5 stars. I work from home when I’m not traveling and wish I felt comfortable enough to come to Blue Flour and sit and drink coffee, eat, and work. But those girls don’t make me feel welcome at all, so I’ll probably take my business elsewhere.
So good. Best sugar cookies ever!
The chocolate chip cookies, especially the mini ones, are literally the best cookies I've ever had! I took off one star because each time I've gotten a coffee drink, there was something off about the milk. The milk taste is absolutely too strong and overpowers the coffee. I don't know what it is, I doubt they use expired milk but it doesn't taste good at all. This is the second time I tried to give it a shot.
Both the Irmo and Main Street locations have a nice atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff. The sugar and chocolate chip cookies are always soft and an excellent special treat. The cayenne cheddar crsckers are downright addictive. The shops rarely have them in stock but are very accommodating about placing special orders and having them ready within 24-48 hours.
Great atmosphere and local. Professional Chic. Coffee is tasty! Not a very wide selection.
Great customer service and quality food!
5 star service with standard coffee cafe fare. A "just right" spot for a quick bite, or for few friends to linger over an iced latte. Our group of 7 sampled the menu, with everything from ham and cheese on marbled rye to a pimento cheese sandwich. Nothing on the menu stands out in terms of originality or flavor complexity, but it's all good-quality and tasty. For dessert we created a cookie plate for ourselves - to mixed reviews. We all enjoyed all the cookie flavors, but were split on the "doneness" of the baking. Three of us preferred the slightly underdone centers (keeps them soft and chewy and easy to microwave and eat warm later!) and four wanted them crisper on the edges, and done through to the middle. Given the number of culinary and food service professionals in our group, we were perhaps more picky and opinionated than the average customer coming in. That said, the gals at the counter were gracious and went out of their way to nicely assemble a large order in a venue designed for individuals and pairs dropping in for coffee and a snack. 5 stars for hospitality, 3 stars for food for a four-star average.
Too expensive good coffee
Same great cookies as always!
Good selection of coffees and great pastries and other delicious snacks. Just wish they had better hours(i.e. later).
AMAZING!
I wanted a cup of hot tea and it was delicious along with the avocado toast. I’ll definitely be returning.
Everything is always so good!! The sugar cookies are where it's at though. Skipped on a birthday cake this year just to get customized sugar cookies from Blue Flour. Best decision ever!!
We had passed by many times but the store was closed. Finally 10-5-19 we made it in!! Lemon honey ginger cookie was amazing! Confetti cookie was amazing! Chocolate chip cookie was amazing!
I work across the street and this morning was the first time I've tried anything. Definitely NOT disappointed. I ordered the Protein Bowl with everything except hummus and black beans. DELICIOUS! I do need to ask if you have the nutritional content on this particular meal, as I am on a strict KETO diet? Would be extremely helfpful, I only ate 1/2 but wanted to finish the entire serving, but did not. Please let me know if you can. Thanks!
Fantastic food and coffee drinks, and a great place for breakfast. The protein bowls are delicious and customizable to fit your taste and dietary needs. The Chai Tea Latte is the best one I've had since moving to Columbia. It's thick, creamy, and has just the right balance of sweet and spice! The cookies are moist, flavorful and have the perfect sweetness. They are gigantic, but if you are worried about calories or carbs, remember, it's just just one cookie! ;)
I feel it's overpriced, but somehow totally worth it. I recommend the sea salt brownies.
The cookies are amazing!
The lemon blueberry pound cake is awesome
Great meeting spot right on Main Street. Quick but tasty breakfast items, (I recommend the egg bake and the protein bowl). Friendly staff! Cookies are amazing - very cute ones for special occasions/holidays.
The grit and egg cake with bacon and cheese is to die for
My girlfriend , who lives in Greenville has been talking about their rice crispy treats for weeks. We went there this past Friday and everything looked delicious and fresh. She loved her treats
Love their biscuits and the ginger lemon cookies are out of this world good!
I work downtown, and this is one of my go to places to meet for coffee. It is generally more quiet inside than many other coffee shops around downtown, so it's a great place to go if you want to study or talk. Their staff is very friendly and give good suggestions if you aren't sure what to order.
Delicious pastries and inviting/clean atmosphere. Employees were friendly, patient, and very helpful.
Have had food from here twice. Both times the fare was dry dry dry. The first visit was a frittata. To 20 minutes to get my order to go. When I got it to the office 2 minutes away the layers were falling apart. The second was someone brought me a coconut treat. It was beautiful. But even my coffee and a glass of milk didn’t help this Heading out down. Won’t be back and will not recommend.
They asked if I needed any suggestions right away and recommended the lemon ginger cookie ($4). I normally go for chocolate things, but this cookie did not disappoint and was certainly worth $4! The atmosphere is also great for getting some work done.
Friendly service! Enjoyed the cheddar black pepper biscuit.
Very nice people. Great cheep coffee. Great food.
Super delicious!
Cute restaurant with delicious food and unique baked goods
Everything is delicious, but especially the pimento cheese jam toast. Definitely recommend!
Awesome bakery and coffee shop on Main street. We ordered a breakfast and lunch snack sampler for an early morning client meeting. Since the boxes included a variety of their muffins, bars, and cookies I can say with confidence that everything is delicious. Their portion sizes are comically large, so be prepared to split most items three or four ways. A great souvenir turned out to be their SC state cookie which survived both in a checked and carry on bag.
The best melty pimento cheese sandwich in Columbia, hands down. It's a rich treat on toasted sourdough with bacon and tomato that you won't soon forget. The cookies are yummy too, especially those ginger-lemon whoppers, but both in the same week will ruin you for skinny jeans by Saturday.
Went there for the first time this week and got the best blueberry hibiscus tea and avocado toast I’ve very had! The service was excellent and I love the aesthetic of the place. Will definitely be back!
Kitchen is full of lovely ladies, the deserts are delicious too.
I really wish they’d open a bakery on the Northeast side or stay open till 6:00. Their baked goodies are delicious but the location and hours make it hard for me to stop in as often as I’d like. Nevertheless, when I am downtown I stop in to get the big frosted sugar cookie bc it’s hard to catch the mini frosted cookies in stock.
Amazing coffee. I did not try any of their pastries but they all looked really good too. I ordered the honey vanilla latte and wish I had ordered a bigger size. They had some fun seasonal drinks that sounded great. Great service and nice environment. Would highly recommend visiting and trying a latte.
Today I stopped by for breakfast and the bacon egg and cheese croissant with fresh fruit and amazing grits! Everyone was really nice from the females at bakery display to the male cook who recommended the grits. If you are near, you to stop by as you will be extremely happy that you did.
Nice vibe, good coffee, and great eats.
Lemon ginger cookie for the win
Great bakery. Try the thumbprint cookies.
Everything here is amazing! The food is great, the coffee is great, and the service couldn’t be better! I go every single day and get something different from avocado toast, their homemade biscuits, to yogurt parfaits, and even their quiche is amazing! Muffins and cookies and brownies are outstanding, too. Must go!
Quiche Lorraine is delicious! New Kombucha line is good
Best cookies ever and a great lunch!
It's great to have another local business on Main Street. The coffee is great and the baked goods are even better. Next time you're on your way to Starbucks, give this place a shot and you won't be disappointed.
Good coffee and fast service. Ample seating with adjacent courtyard. Great location, just steps from the capitol. Ordered a coffee cake muffin that was a bit stale and had no flavor. Limited hours.
Great friendly staff. Good coffee, desserts, baked goods, biscuits, etc. Found them when visiting from out of town. Would definitely return!
Amazing to have another coffee shop with beyond delicious food! Love the atmosphere. Service is above and beyond! The food is soo good. Baked goods. Had the quiche. OMG! Welcome to the neighborhood! Will definitely be back!
Don't expect the puff pastry croissant sort of thing. Expect locally inspired yummy. Best quiche I ever had, period. Great service, pleasant space, a gem!
Yum! Love the cheddar and black pepper biscuits and the raspberry thumbprint cookies.
Good coffee
Food is good, desserts are just very dry unless mine was old !
We wanted to check out the place but it is 12:41 on Saturday and the Facebook page states open until 2 pm.... very dissappointed!!
Maybe $4 cookies are your thing. Better coffee and equally good breakfast food only a couple blocks away.
A display case full of yummy! Avocado toast is super tasty!!!
Quick, efficient (menu is short), friendly staff, excellent breakfasts.
When I ordered a blueberry muffin, I expected to see more than 3 blueberries in it.
Great place to eat
Cute coffee shop and bakery, though the WiFi only works for an hour and a half while working there.
Great coffee. Great service.
Good
The overall experience was pretty good, but the flavor of the coffee could have been a bit more distinct between offerings.
Great food and coffee! Awesome biscuits and the coffee beats out Starbucks! Definitely a go to place for the morning bite!
Tasty treats and cookies. Refill coffee in a quaint lil shop with flair. Polite service. Just a walk from the capital. Clean restrooms.
Not just your average bakery items. All items created with care and personal touch. Venue occasionally hosts local musicians. Excellent vibe.
Friendly staff, beautiful interior space, and I had avocado toast here for the first time and it was wonderful!
This bakery... my mouth is watering just thinking about you guys. I love the new location, especially on Saturdays. Hailey is amazing, I never know what I want and she always makes the right decision for me. I can't say enough about this place. If you haven't been, GO. GO NOW.
Really nice prompt service. Great tasting food and coffee pretty good.
We love the protein bowls! Great for breakfast or dessert!
Great cookies!
Staff was wonderful, didn't like anything I got though, I will go back to try different items at least once.
Food is good but very expensive, drinks are loaded with ice
Try the cheddar biscuits!
Love the food here and the patio looking out over Main Steet.
Lemon ginger cookie is one I would return for in a minute (and I live in Maryland!)
Good desert and friendly service.
Really didn't care for it. I'm in my 60's and not interested in the gourmet coffees offered. Food was pre prepared and ok tasting.
Great service an yummy things to eat.
