Everything except the cannoli were stellar. I am not too sure why they say this is the best place in Federal Hill to get a cannoli but it was terrible. Everything I got with Frangipane was excellent, the cheesecake my husband got was incredible. Everything there looked phenominal and we will definitely be back when in the area. However not for the cannoli.

Scialo Bros. Bakery This is one of our favorite food sources on Federal Hill. Their pastries are fresh-made on the premises and delicious. The bowties and elephant ears are perfect to have with coffee or espresso as are either one of their cheese cakes. My wife loves the rich, velvety smooth classic style. My favorite is the ricotta cheese cake. It has a light, soft texture with hints of lemon and vanilla flavors to compliment the creamy ricotta cheese. Luckily they sell both by the slice and we are each able to enjoy the one we prefer. Along with great pastries, their “Sicilian” bread is a bread lover’s dream come true. It has a very thick, hearty crust encasing a soft and chewy center of scrumptious bread; perfect for absorbing any style of pasta sauce or just savoring a slice drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with a helping of pungent parmesan cheese. We recently brought a large loaf to a friend’s house for dinner and they are still raving about “how great this bread is” and they were right, it is terrific! For us, Scialo Bros. Bakery is the place for wonderful bread and delectable pastries.

So much love here! I ordered a custom cake with fondant work and not only was it gorgeous but it was amazingly delicious. I grabbed zeppoles and eclairs and tiramisu... it was all so good! This bakery makes me want to move to Providence!

Wonderful traditional bakery where you leave with a full box of pastries wrapped with double strands of string by helpful staff. Cookies, Date-nut squares, cupcakes and even Individual slices of cake, including my favorite orange liqueur 'Cassata' sponge cake covered with marzipan. Everything here is delicious.

I have been going to Scialo Bros Bakery for years everything is always fresh and everything I purchase is always a hit at my house doesn't matter what you purchase you will never be disappointed when you walk in you are treated like your part of their family all the Women behind the counter are always friendly and helpful I called in an order for my Mother's Birthday a Zuppa Inglese cake can't wait to have a piece of this Amazing and Awesome looking cake the best advice I can give anyone is if you know what you want it's better to call ahead of time to make sure that they have what you want is available so when you get there you won't be disappointed they sold out of what you wanted they do get busy thank to everyone at Scialo Bros Bakery for doing such an Amazing and Awesome and Beautiful job on my Mother's Birthday cake

This is a great bakery with fresh Italian bread and rolls, pizza strips, spinach pies, and some of the best pastry on Federal Hill. You can choose from whole cakes and pies or individual pieces of pastry such as eclairs, carrot cake, Tiramisu, cannolis, cheesecake slices, or other favorite Italian desserts. The people who work there are wonderful and very helpful. Be adventurous and have them recommend something to try, you won’t be disappointed. While the prices are not that of your supermarket bakery, you will taste the difference when fresh, high quality ingredients are used.

Had our wedding cake made here. Design was fantastic. The white almond flavor was so good that people are still talking about it 1 year later. They even honored their promise of giving a small cake to match our wedding cake 1 year later. Maybe a bit more expensive than some others but this is definitely a step above.

Worst cannoli's ever!!! I've had my fair share of cannoli's from all over and these are by far the worst! They taste like alcohol?!? Don't get me wrong I love alcohol, but not in cannoli's. Stay away!!

After several disappointing appointments with other bakeries, including a "tasting" where the owner offered to sell us cupcakes to try the flavors they carried (seriously?) we happened upon Scialo for my sister's wedding. They were so friendly and the (COMPLIMENTARY) cupcakes and then her cake were so delicious, when I got married my husband and I didn't even bother looking elsewhere—we got our cake there also. We've been back almost every year for our anniversary cake (when my toddler was an infant we stayed home on our anniversary—no one had the energy to drive an hour!) and it's always delicious. Everyone there is incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the one time we were disappointed by the decoration on the cake (the usual decorator was out sick) they made things right immediately. Can't wait for next year's cake!

I came to New England to visit my husband's family for Christmas. We made sure to head into Providence to explore where his parents grew up, and of course, we had to go to Scialo Brothers. The employees were very nice and helpful. We were given pizza strips for free (perhaps because it was so late in the evening, perhaps because I'm from out of state). I bought many treats to bring home to share; I only wish I wasn't 2,000 miles away!

This place has been around for quite some time. They do it the RIGHT way. I go here about once a week for the lemon tart and carrot cake. Prices are also very reasonable. You cant go wrong here.

Scialo Brs is an excellent bakery. Having shopped around extensively for quality deserts, theirs are the best that I have found in the greater providence area. The prices are fairly good, and very reasonable for what you are getting. I would particularly recommend trying the chocolate raspberry cream cheese tort (though i'm usually not a huge fan of rasp. choc. things, they don't over do it... must try), the cream rolls, the rum cake, and the little chocolate cherry silver dollar shaped things which I always forget the name of. Be aware that there is no sit down area. The bakery is a bakery only, and you will have to go somewhere else to munch. If it's nice out, DePasquale Plaza will do. If you want a sit down experience go to pastiche around the way, where you will be charged more for what you get, and be provided with the full sit down experience. Do not be fooled by the fact that there are two other Scialo bakeries in the greater providence area, these other's are owned by a relative, but are not in any way related (business wise). I would not put those other bakeries into the same category, personally.

A truly mom and pop bakery in old world tradition. This place makes me remember my grandmothers house and all the wonderful things she would make. The service is always swift and you can tell ecerything is made with care and old recepies. If you havent tried thier fruit cake or mince pie, your missing out on something special.

Cannolis are definitely not a traditional Italian cannoli. Staff member said their cannolis are riccota and whipped cream-definitely not “traditional.” The shell of the cannoli was also extremely thin and soggy.

This bakery is probably one of the best in Providence. Small mom-n-pop bakery with a wide selection of treats and breads. Tiny parking lot makes getting in and out easy, which can be tough sometimes on Atwells Ave.
