Tasty treats, and a longstanding tradition! Some 50 years ago my grandfather would bring a box of their pastries to our house every Sunday morning. I was in state this week and needed to see the place again. It's much more modern, but still lots of pastries, cakes, and breads. But they no longer have the ceiling mounted string dispensers for tying up the boxes.

Solid bakery LaSalle is a pretty solid bakery, but certainly not deserving of the many 5 or 2 star reviews found here on Google. I'd rate it 3.5 were that possible, but I'll give it the extra half point because I just enjoyed my breakfast. This morning I tried the chocolate croissant. It was flaky and a bit chewy, but in a good way. Certainly heavier than the real thing found across France, but good and not that dense when compared to some other available items. It contained a single bar of chocolate, though, which you will be hard pressed to see in the photos. It needs a second. Speaking of other items that are dense, I also tried the cinnamon roll. That was heavy, and I loved it. A little chewy, great flavor. Not syrupy sweet or sticky, either. Yesterday I also tried a premade turkey sandwich for lunch. It was fine, but not fantastic. It met my expectations, though, since I don't expect a 5 star meal from a premade sandwich. Overall I found the staff to be friendly and fast enough. There were plenty of people working both days, as well. I recommend LaSalle, though I admit to not knowing any other bakeries since I'm only here for the weekend.

This place hits a soft spot in my heart. My wife attended PC as an undergrad and this place was our usual Saturday/sunday morning stop. We'd each grab a coffee and a breakfast sandwich. If you are a college student in the area and need a pick me up, go here.

Would avoid. Ordered and paid for 6 zeppoles. Only given 5 in my box. I called the bakery later in the morning when I realized the problem. Their office took my name and phone number and told they may give me a credit or gift card. No response x 2 weeks. Poor service and disappointing business culture.

Great tasting, fresh food is what LaSalle bakery has to offer. The young staff that's employed there are very few and helpful when suggestions are needed. My only gripe is that if you don't get there before 12 what you're hoping to purchase is probably already sold out. TRY THE WALNUT BROWNIES, RASPBERRY ICED TEA, CALZONES, THE BLUEBERRY AND CHOCOLATE MUFFINS!!!!

Very disappointed.. Went there this morning 5/16/19 around 930ish had a girl with curly black hair waiting on me, def. Wasn't the friendliest I've ever had wait on me there.. She seemed annoyed, order an egg n cheese on a snowflake roll 2 canollis and an almond crescent get home side down to eat my sandwich and the egga r burnt and not just a little.. Really burnt where my whole sandwich tastes like it! I can't believe she wrapped it up and gave it to me like id be ok with it!! Horrible ..

I ended up coming here because there's not a lot of decent places to grab coffee at near Rhode Island College. I stayed for the quality (in my experience) pastries and my favorite veggie pizza. I especially enjoy the almond croissants and European danish. I haven't really tried their cakes, so I can't vouch for those. The large fruit tart had a sponge cake bottom, which I was not expecting, but that's just an fyi. Their savory bakes are yummy as well. Like I mentioned, give the veggie pizza a try (ask for them to warm it up). It's not something fancy and I can't put my finger on why it's so good, but it is. Overall it's not that cheap and there is no wifi, so it might not be the best place to study. There's no hipster vibe or any vibe really, it's just a neighborhood bakery. I think people go there for the baked goods, not the Instagram post.

So I've never heard from this bakery before until today so me and my girl went to check it out that it's pretty awesome. Presentation is up there, they literally serenate you with of whole lot of goodies,like I said very good presentation and very clean. Now when it comes to customer service a little bit of lack of awareness to what matters and keep their personal opinion to them selves, if I'm choosing something it's because either it's my favorite or I dislike the other choices there for I don't need explanation nor opinion on why I should choose anything else unless I ask for a suggestion. So I was so excited to try the new pastries so I couldn't withheld longer so I decided to try them out at car, witch by the way looked delicious

I’m a regular for a reason, has Always been a great place but today’s visit was off. I asked for a refill of my la Salle iced coffee mug and it came back at 3/4 full and when I asked for a top off, her reply was “we don’t do top offs” said with a smile. She forgot my sandwich order which I had paid for, and so waited an extra long time for an Egg I that was burned. As I’m eating my eggless sandwich , I’m looking at the cakes in the revolving display and they looked bad. Wish I had taken pictures but almost everyone had extensive visible crumbs in the crusting. I hope the owner will fix this. Not trying to be critical but just an honest review of an old friend. Very disappointed.

I typically stop in for a sandwich, coffee, tea, or a muffin. A great spot for tackling the daily munchies with a great cafe atmosphere. It gets packed at peak hours but even then the food is worth the wait. The staff is very attentive and friendly and you can't beat the sweet smell of coffee and baked goods by stopping in. The sandwiches always taste fresh and can be ordered cold or toasted. Skip Dunkin and support a local company with a better quality product, you will be glad you did

I LOVE this bakery, I don't have the time to list everything I like here, they offer so much. I am a cannoli fanatic and this is my go to for them. Also when zeppolis season comes around this place is a must. They even have dog bones that my pup devours. Stop by!!!

Well 400+ reviews can not be wrong right??? I usually do not write reviews, but when I do I make sure we all get the most out of it. I went into this bakery on July 30th 2018 at 7:07pm as I wanted to buy something apart from a cake to celebrate my friends birthday. As I enter, the ambiance was up to the mark and I walked up to the place where I can place an order. The person who helped me and my girlfriend was a lady, she was polite and gave us our time to choose what we wanted to. Thats when my girlfriend said "Shall we take the Danish over there on your right". I walked towards my right to have a look and I saw 2 fruit flies.. I thought it was outside the cooler. But on a closer look it was inside the cooler or fridge or what ever you call it. And I called up the lady and asked "are those flies in there?". While she walked towards the cooler and slided the cooler door I saw about 10-15 fruit flies raise up from the baked items around Danish. I thought, Oh.. this bakery already has its own special customers and I stepped back while I holded my girlfriends hand and I said "Thank you" to the lady and we were gone. Food here is not really as hygienic as the ambiance looks. The people who own this brand should make sure they maintains good condition all the time. I do not want to buy something which was already tasted by fruit flies! DO NOT CHOOSE THIS PLACE, its really unhygienic than it appears to be. Open your eyes before you make a choice and look for any sort of Flies inside cooler. I will NOT recommend this place to anyone at anycost! Take care, stay healthy and thank you for reading my review.

Most of the items are pretty damn delicious. There are several and especially the birthday cakes that are WAY too sweet. No one could finish a slice at my sons birthday party and they were slim slices. Breads are great and pretty much anything that doesn't have icing on top is top notch.

Good bread and tasty confections. But the confections are shrinking. The eclairs I know have almost halved in size in the last 2-3 years. I bet the price hasn't changed to match either. Up the price and keep the size. I won't be buying them or only on special occasions when all other options have been explored. Previously regular-ish customer moving to other stores where tiny eclairs are seemingly appropriately priced.

Me and my girlfriend never ordered breakfast here, making today our first time. And the sales associate that attended us after wandering around for a couple minutes was extremely helpful! He gave us plenty of options and actually prepred it on spot, a breakfast sandwich that was out of this world. We even asked him to pick it for us since we were in a hurry, and boy was it amazing. This is a place that is best to just not visit and glory in the yummy food that someone brought home or to the office. Don't spoil it by actually going there. One cooler dispaly had tons of fruit flies flying around inside. Nobody seemed phased by it. Customer service was meh, the lady neglected to tell me it would take 10 minutes to warm up my croissant and it also seemed she forgot about it, she also plunked my food down by one cash register but rang me up at another that was across the store. Lobby and overall presentation may be nice and professional on initial glance but stay longer than 2 minutes and you will realize. Prices are pretty high on things as well. $2.49 for a muffin, $7 for a smoothie, $3.49 for pastries.
