I took my Dad to have breakfast for his 75th birthday and told him to pick his own birthday cake. He chose the Strawberry Bliss cake. It was my Dad (Ray) first time to Oakmont Bakery. He has had your doughnuts and cakes but never been to the bakery. He enjoyed his first visit and loved his chicken and waffles. He said they were the best he ever had. I Love it the place is so pretty but sometimes the people who come to shop are rude to other customers giving the place of business a bad look and that's not what they are about... So just remember that when you are shopping you could turn good customer away just for being rude...

I introduced my now husband to Oakmont Bakery 17 years ago when we first started dating and they are the ONLY place for cakes, pies, or cookies. My hair salon is in Oakmont as well and needless to say after everything appt there is a put stop there. When we finally decided to get married last year they were the only place to go. They took 3 different designs we had and added our personal touches to our wedding cake. They also made the cookies and pastries for cookie table. When their delivery guy came to set it up, he made sure it was perfect. He called the store to ensure he was reading the order correctly since the writing was smugded and asked me repeatedly if it was how I wanted it. He was professional and super sweet. Courtney who we dealt with was AMAZING!!! She was patient, helpful, knowledge and very nice. She worked with us on a few hiccups as I'm sure everything wedding has but she never missed a beat.

Got this for a sweet 16 party. Beautiful decorations and super delicious cake. Just one thing is you must take the cake directly to the event or they won’t let you take it because it will ruin it. We went the night before and they wouldn’t let us take it so we had to come back.

I love the atmosphere. Foods are good. Some excellent. If you are visiting a must- see and visit place. Has coffee and eat-in dining if relaxing. Always busy. Traffic is bad usually getting in and out. They need to work on that with Oakmont. Great staff. And family owned business. Started from nothing and worked their way up. It even has a few of the Italian bakery favorites like cannoli. It can he a little overwhelming to walk in and see the number of customers, but trust me, take a number and this place runs like a well oiled machine. I couldn't recommend it more!

This is an obvious must-visit spot if you’re in the area and want to see what Pittsburgh’s all about because Oakmont Bakery is a Pittsburgh ICON. Expect fast, friendly service in a massive, usually-packed shop full of every type of treat you can ask for. Try the Oakmonter for something different, or literally anything else from the case for a great dessert. Their breads and donuts are great too! Seriously, make the stop and fight the crowds. It’s worth it.

Absolutely amazing! I was out that way for an appointment and heard about it so I decided to stop because it is a hike from where I live. I bought several different things. The “Chip” cupcake super yummy! I did get some lady locks and a small almond torte cake for my mom-which was $5.75 and the equivalent to 2 1/2 slices of cake which you would have paid more for at a restaurant. I personally thought everything was reasonably priced considering I have paid about the same if not more for mediocre baked goods at the Market District. Even if you live far away it’s worth the drive if you have some time

The new location is beautiful (although I never saw the old one) it smells like heaven when you pull into the parking lot. They have a great ticket number routine where they call your number to go up to the counter and order. Very fast and efficient. We got half a dozen donuts got the next morning and they were still so fresh the next day. So much flavor. I wish it was closer. We just happened to drive past it on the way to an event. If I'm ever in the area I would live to try some other items.

I am sure there are better bakeries, but you got love their display cases and the variety of baked goods. Everybody raved about their personal selections. Personally I judge bakeries on pies, breads, donuts and cookies. I selected the chocolate chip cookie and was very disappointed. Judging by the cookie selection, Oakmont cookies are not what they are known for. Impressive display and variety, don't go for cookies...of course that is just my opinion!

I try to give honest reviews so sort of sorry about this one. Was glad to see they were in their new location. It is beautiful. I spent $38 plus what I had for lunch. Their carrot cake (the small one) was awesome and so was their fresh Itialian bread. Bought some raisin filled cookies. There were no raisins. The cookies were folded over and seemed to have just knife full of sauce in them. Bought some danish and although the pastry was good I think they got smaller than they used to be. What a shame. Wonder if they have new owners.

Oakmont Bakery has wonderful baked goods. The new facility offers a place to sit and have coffee, sandwiches, and the like. Unfortunately it has those super high ceilings that are so in Vogue now. It makes it virtually impossible to have a conversation while sitting in the restaurant part. Parking is hard to find, even with the extra parking lot down the block. In the opening of this store created a traffic nightmare in Oakmont. Overall I would recommend this Bakery only for their baked goods. Their breakfast sandwiches are typical of what you would find in just about any other restaurant. Simply put, my breakfast experience was nothing to write home about.

The bakery is already been famous for years so there isn't much to say that a lot of people haven't seen or heard about this place. First of all it is a massive place with a selection that will dwarf other bakery selections. Be prepared to struggle to find parking due to small lot and no street parking. There is eat-in space for those who want to sit and eat. The wait time can be significant in order to get a turn however it will give you time to walk up and down the cases to look at EVERYTHING!

So, this place is the heaven for people with a sweet tooth. There are lots of pastry and cake options. They offer them in single person, a couple sized and group portions. Some coffee options are available as well. That's not all. The bakery, obviously, sells breads as well. And they have a sandwich menu. Everything can be ordered for dine-in or take out. Finding a parking can be tricky some of the time.

It was my first time at Oakmont bakery! I have been waiting for this for a very long time. I've eaten their goodies but never had the pleasure of enjoying the atmosphere of the bakery. We arrived early enough (9:15am) to find a close parking spot and quick access to order breakfast. It was very overwhelming for a newbie. Had I not been with someone who knew what they were doing I would've been lost and in the way of other customers. It would be nice to have someone to greet and help the first time customers with the flow. The food was delicious, as always. I had a breakfast wrap, coffee, and Somoa donut.

So you have to take a number from in front of the main door, then stay behind the guard lines until that # is called. Such a really great bakery. Park around back (much easier) there's a door to enter on the side. Such a friendly staff constantly moving and busy. Very Very good sweets, don't have a favorite bc everything I've tried as been AMAZING!!!

The bake goods are very good but the cafe needs work. I've been there twice for lunch and sandwiches were just ok. A hot sandwich should be hot and cheese melted. I had a sandwich that was pressed in a panini press that made the bun so hard that it cut the roof of my mouth. The meat and cheese were cold inside. Not what I expected. There is definitely enough seating indoors and outdoors. I'd recommend the baked goods lots if variety.

Courtney and the staff at Oakmont Bakery did a beautiful job with my nephew’s Wedding cake. Most importantly, it was all done via email since I live out of town (New Jersey). I sent pictures to Courtney and she gave me prices, we finalized it and it turned out absolutely perfect. It was a beach themed wedding, a very laid-back and relaxed kind of setting... The cake was magnificent and everybody was commenting on how beautiful and delicious it was... I would absolutely recommend them to anyone for their special occasion. You will not be disappointed!

I used to go to Oakmont a bunch as a kid and then I moved away. I came back and visited for the first time in 6 years and it looks great! They have so many more delicious sweets and the building is much bigger. The employees were very nice and were able to understand descriptions of deserts that I had forgotten the names of. I definitely will go back! I ordered a cookie cupcake, a happy camper cupcake, and an apple dumpling which were all very delicious! I also got their everything bread which is super great warmed up! You should definitely visit the Oakmont Bakery of you are ever in town.

I love this place, the new location is gorgeous and easy to get to. It is always busy so be prepared before you go and grab a number but the line moves relatively quickly and it gives you a chance to make a decision (it's so hard because there are SO many options). Incredible bakery. I have tried the donuts (can't go wrong with any of them, but PA Dutch is the best), cakes, tiramisu, bagels, and bread. All have been delicious! Prices are *very* reasonable, too. The wait times can get a bit long, but given my experiences ans the fact that they have so many regulars means that the wait is worth it!

So this is the fabled Oakmont Bakery. Visited today for the first time and was overwhelmed by the selection of goodies. I could go in here with a gallon of milk and spend the whole day wallowing in gluttony. My wife was with me however so I had to show a bit of restraint. Ended up with a Lemon Torte, Mini Lemon Pies, Elephant Ears, and Cinnamon NY Sticks. Yum.

I brought a friend here and he called it the 8th wonder of the world. When you go in immediately take a number. (Center of the floor by the main entrance, I didn't know this my first time in and it was shoulder to shoulder in the place) The line usually looks intimidating but it moves really fast. They are on the pricey end but I've not had a thing there that I didn't like. On another note I was sad to see walking into the bakery from the side lot that the employee break area is next to the dumpsters. This company makes enough money to provide an outdoor sitting area for its employees AWAY from the dumpsters. (I do not know anyone who works here, this was my observation during my visit)

First experience here. I was picking up a cake that I had ordered online (American Torte, which everyone loved), and I wanted to grab a few other things. Except no one spoke to me. It was 2 in the afternoon on a Friday. It was busy, because I'm sure it always is, but for the time of day it wasn't too bad. No one helped me. My number was called and I was ignored. I wouldn't visit again for this reason. I'll go elsewhere to spend my money.

So we went there on our first visit and we're looking forward to buying some things. Not horrible prices but daniil was not particularly helpful and kind of rude with his answers. The place was very crowded which was fine but there is no real signs about the ordering and it was a bit of a non sense way with no organization as far as the people in there. Seems to me they are just happy to make money and don't really care if it's a bit chaotic or not because they stay on the other side of the counter and don't have to really deal with it. I'm not saying horde us in like sheep but maybe a better set up that allows people to feel welcome there. We did purchase some food all looks great and I'm sure will trade good as well Most likely will not go back again

Great lunches. Sweets to die for. Don't be discouraged if it's crowded. They move people through quite quickly. They served over 100 while I was there for a lunch. If you're not sure about the ordering process, ask anyone. Staff and customers are all very friendly.

We visited this bakery for the first time today 8-17-19 We were totally amazed at the different kinds of pastries, cakes, breads etc. the many different varieties. The people who work there are so friendly and helpful. We are from Johnstown, Pa. and we will definitely be back. Everything we purchased was so delicious and so fresh was just unbelievable.

Not sure how anyone could give this place anything but 5 stars. The ownership of this establishment is five stars and you can see this as it carries through in everything they do all the way down to the cashiers. Everything the baker's made tastes delicious it's fresh priced appropriately this place is an absolute Pittsburgh stop for anyone visiting. Just take your patients because they are always busy which reflects on how fantastic this place really is

A great Oakmont/Pittsburgh tradition. It may be a new and beautiful location but the history of the bakery is the thing that keeps me going back. And I would be remiss without mentioning Michael the manager, I think he lives in a van down by the river, just kidding, he is always there and always happy to help. Ask for him!

Overhyped to the extreme, terrible atmosphere! Oakmont Bakery has some delicious items, however most are mediocre at best compared to some of the other high quality bakeries in the area. Crossiants dont have that crunch they should, macarons are way too sweet(a common theme for everything)bread is no better than you can get a giant eagle bakery. All packaged in a factory like environment.

I’ve never seen such an environment and wide range of products in this area. Probably one of the best bakeries in Pennsylvania. However, their customer service system is a little bit confusing for first-timers, and apparently I wasn’t the only one confused when there for a visit. Perhaps they’re still adapting to the recent expansion.

Oakmont Bakery never disappoints. I drive around 45 minutes from my home just to get their maple bacon doughnuts and chocolate covered strawberries since they are my favorite. This location does have a bit of a wait, but it is definitely well worth it.

They won't run a loaf of discounted bread thru the slicer = 1 star. - - - I grew up in Pittsburgh but this was my first time here. It's an amazing place and gets fabulous reviews, so obviously my 1-star rating is an outlier. So what's it based on? Principle. To not take 30 seconds to run a loaf of bread thru the slicer (for my 81-year-old mom), like almost every bakery will do as a matter of course, is simply wrong. I'm just kinda speechless that they would create a policy where a loaf of bread won't be sliced. Really? I mean, really? Did the Bakery feel they are losing money or going thru some other unsustainable hardship that they had to stop slicing the discounted bread? Really? I just think this says something significant about the character of the owners, who, I'll certainly admit otherwise seem to be good business people (or maybe it's the manager?). Look, maybe I'm old fashioned or have some facts wrong here, and maybe its long-time universal nation-wide bakery tradition to not slice the day-old bread for a customer, and I'll be the first to admit it. But on the face of it, it's simply rediculous, to me, that the Oakmont Bakery won't slice a loaf of bread from the discounted rack. ESPECIALLY for a senior citizen who might not be as good with a knife as they used to be. It's just absurd.

This is the absolutely best bakery in the area in terms of choices, tastes and prices. They have cakes, cupcakes donuts, pastries, desserts, bread products, bagels etc. Somehow, the bakery is able to bake perfectly delicious items that are not cloyingly sweet to the taste. The bakery staff are pleasant, courteous and knowledgeable about their products. IMO their best cakes are the Chocolate Mousse and the Black Forest. If ordering bakery products, you should take a number from the ticketing machine immediately after entering as there is nearly always a queue waiting to be served. The queue can triple during certain pre-holidays. They also have regular cafe food, hot or cold drinks and ice cream that you can order from a side counter or via a touchscreen kiosk (you do not need to take a number to do that). There are plenty of small tables and chairs inside the new large and airy bakery, and a few tables and chairs outside on the shaded patio. There is also a neat fireplace with seats, and WIFI. The parking lot in the back is much bigger than the one in front. The bakery is oddly placed in relation to the surrounding roads. It is easy to turn into the bakery from any road, but once inside the car park, it is difficult (and I believe not allowed at times) to make left turns on Halton Road to cross the bridge. That is not a biggie because you just have to make a loop around the small roads to get back to Halton eventually.
