Glad that I found this place online. Lived in the Harrisburg area for years and probably driven by this bakery many times but never noticed it. It is a very small store. VERY delicious sandwich choices all served on flavorsome fresh baked bread. Even the produce (tomatoes, onions) on the sandwich had a pleasing spicy and sweet, perfectly-ripe flavor. Coffee Cafe was a bit dry and too sweet and rich for me. Could not taste the cake as much as I could taste the sweet sugary topping and swirls running through. Coffee was alright. Plan to visit again!

Excellent bakery. They use real butter and fresh fruit. Flakey croissants , Fresh fruit tarts, french and savory foccacia breads, muffins, and gourmet cupcakes and pastries are baked daily. Reasonable prices. Their sandwiches are made on fresh breads with very fresh roastbeef, turkey, bacon etc. with real cheese,not the processed american . They offer real cheddar, swiss, smoked gouda, etc. The sandwiches are finished with fresh picked tomatoes and specialty aiolis. The sandwiches are large . You can order a half Sandwich for only 3.95. Try the focaccia. Unforgettable.

Walked in with a recipe for Maple Bacon cake. They had it ready for me on the specified date, good price. Above expectations, everyone in the office loved it. One of the best cakes I have ever had. Thank you on a job well done. Will be ordering two next time.

The Susquehanna sandwich is awesome-piled high with chicken, pepper jack & crunchy pickled vegetables on rosemary bread! $8 may seem pricey for a sandwich, however, I get two meals out of it or split it with a friend. Coworker had Riverfront Roast Beef & was happy. Pics of display cases was at 11:30 am & there were plentiful offerings to choose from. Staff is very nice. This is MUCH better option than others here in downtown Harrisburg. I special ordered a small birthday cake & it was beautiful.

I went to Pittsburgh back in May and we tried looking up the best bakeries and they didn't even come close to Ciao. There's always something new and different and it makes you feel like you're walking into the Great British Bake Off every day.

Cozy little bakery, I loved the worker and the environment. The lemon bar was ok, WAY too sweet for my preference, too little crust and too much filling. The Jewish apple tart was AMAZING! The crust was ever so slightly sweet, the cream cheese/ricotta filling was delishious, and the thinly sliced apples had yummy cinnamon over them. The chocolate chip cookie was great, crispy on the outside, very chocolatey and chewy on the inside. The peanut butter cookie was also delishious, all I wish that it had a more salty, peanut butter taste. Will come again.

I placed an order for a pacman cupcake cake this week for my 6 year old son's birthday and without delay, Cíao Bakery's response was accepting and super enthusiastic. The staff members are highly confident in their talents and time frames as they should be. I felt extra relaxed realizing that here is a business that is actually professional and definitely listens per our initial phone conversation. The layout once I arrived was immaculate and overall my experience is that these guys superseded the bar!!!! My son has autism and today his surprise pizza party at school was phenomenal. I can't thank you enough for being a positive part of my family's life. You are our official bakery now and yes I have been putting a bug in everyone's ear to let you cater to their sweet tooth. P.S. The cupcake cake was super delicious and the kids wanted seconds!!! #BestInCentralPA

I think this was the best apple pie I have ever had -- I preordered for a holiday dinner along with a cranberry orange almond bread loaf and was able to pick my order up that weekend at Bricco since Ciao was closed. I loved their little spot on Chestnut and will definitely be back
