Great selection of pies and cakes. And you can also get ice cream if you really want to fill your guilty pleasure.

Gini Urban

There many times and love it! Great food and quick friendly service.

Chaipav

Great place to hang out. Snacks , ice cream, coffee, all fresh.

Bruce Kennedy

All-American bakery and cafe in the heart of Amish country. Shoo-Fly Pie and apple fritters, whoopie pies, all kinds of fancy cupcakes, angel food cakes, that kind of stuff. Some really good donuts too. And fresh local ice cream, extra good. Spotlessly clean, super friendly and helpful staff, nice location. There's even a petting zoo for the little kids.

Bonnie Kirchner

The best baked goods around. Fantastic apple fritters!

Kathleen Chartier

Great food. Fun place.

Jacklyn of all Master of none

definitely a spot for tourists. they do have a good wet bottom shoefly pie

Christine Richey

Good food

Michelle Lussier

The peach ice cream wasn't good

Markus Klein

Good ice-cream. Try the Shoofly Pie flavor. It's not to sweet and goes well with coffee. If you sit outside it's a bit close to the street but you can just go around the corner and hang in the back of the building where you have a nice few of fields.

Palma Shrum

Stopped for a snack while shopping, had a chocolate whoopie pie, a smoothie and a birch beer. All was very good, especially the whoopie pie.

A Google User

Must see you can stop and have a snack or take it with you either way this place is a homerun they really have it figured out two thumbs up

Joy Lundahl

Delicious sandwich and soup, similar style to Panera. Baked goods are sensational!

Scott Enterline

I asked for a cream filled powdered donut. When I got home to eat the donut it was custard filled powdered donut. Not happy with that.

Ray Leaman

Good ice cream.

Bill Holstein

Friendly people. Roomy place to eat. Plenty of things you can take home.

James Gray Sr.

The worst carrot cake I've ever had!

Mario Delgado

Really enjoyed the chicken salad sandwich. Other members of our party also enjoyed the food selection. Not really an Amish experience, however, there were Amish folks shopping and eating here, which I guess indicates the level of deliciousness.

Bill Novak

Beyond delicious apple fritters

Bob Foster

Good times b

Karleen McClain

Excellent place. Baked goods are awesome! They make great salads in the cafe part

H V

Kevin Hill

The best apple dumplings, shoofly pie and sticky buns around that area! Brought a bunch home with me too!

Maria Alindato

Pleasant workers, a lot of cakes and ice cream to choose from.

Margie Moore

Awesome sweets, clean facility, excellent service and restaurant. We make the trip from VA to PA just for whoopie pies at least 2 times a year.

katie landis

Waited forever for soup and sandwich and then I got it and it had mayo on it and was wrong. Didn't even send it back because it took to long. I think they are trying to be like panera bread but they are failing, very disconnected place it use to be way better, 2 registers for cafe and bakery just takes so long here if you are in a hurry skip it.

Beth Webster

We've lived in Lancaster for 2 years and have yet to visit this lovely place. Since it was the first day of spring and they offer a free scoop of ice cream I figured I would support a local establishment rather than a big national chain. It was wonderful ice cream! I also got coffee and bagels afterwards. Just across the parking lot there are a couple of adorable animals in a little fenced enclosure. Today we saw goats, a donkey, and chickens! My girls were all about that. There's also a lovely little playground with a very shallow Creek running through it. I definitely learned my lesson about not bringing Wellies on this bright sunny 45 degree day. We came home with wet feet but happy hearts. This will definitely become a place we frequent.

Prophet Mark

Friendly and helpful. A bit pricey for my meager budget though. Clean too.

Chris Braley

Wonderful ice cream and a very good coco mocha latte!

Rachel Lugo

Best apple fritters I've ever had.

Joel Diller

Nice place to get baked goods. Can be a bit busy and touristy. Also the parking lot is smaller..

Maryannie N

Located in Amish country they have GREAT sandwiches, a nice assortment of ice cream, and an incredible variety of freshly prepared baked goodies! Bought several items to take home. They also have outlets at the counter seating so you can charge your phone!

Marcio Padovan

This place is amazing! Great sandwiches, soup, coffee, sweets ! Etc,etc, etc ! Great service as well!

Jimmy Bartlett

Excellent Reuben sandwich. The service was great!

Misty Misal

Wonderful place to eat.

Chuck C

Rooms were average. Food at next door restaurant was very good. Only reason this didn't get higher rating is poor internet speed.

Melodie Dearolf

Awesome strawberry pie

Melanie Zell

Great sandwiches, baked goods, and ice cream. Nice, clean, bright upstairs room to eat in. Just wish this place was open in the evenings. :)

James Stambaugh

Love it

Noel Wenrich

Not a place to visit if you are a diabetic but having said that MMMMMM! What else is there to say?

L Howell

Sweet homemade goods...edible ones and handcrafted quilts...

Julie Stafford

Great food at a reasonable price

Barre Flynn

Ok you heard of Shoofly Pie? It is the pie to die for in Lancaster County. They have without a doubt the best Shoofly Pie anywhere. You have to get there very early because their bake goods sell out very fast. You will not be disappointed. And when you are there you should try the Ice Cream. It is a perfect blend of flavor and cream, not too sweet. They have parking so it is an easy in and out.

Pamela Kailian

Best Apple Fritters I've ever had!!!

Max Burton

The kids loved seeing the goats and the donkey, and their grilled cheese panini was good for their young palettes.

Nate Kirchner

delicious.

Maximina Rivera

Great tasting baked items

Kevin Nguyen

This place has amazingly creamy and delicious ice creams and donuts. I went in at almost closing time but their donut still tasted chewy and just the right amount of sweetness. Customer service was also delightful. 5\5 would go visit again next time I'm in Pennsylvania

Henry Jimenez

Very nice place. Very clean. Friendly staff. Large selection.

Laura N

Nice place. Restrooms should be on first floor though.

Elisha Brownell

Ellen Mortimer

Lovely first thing in the morning

K. Sensenig

Great service and very lancaster!

Keith Kellam

Perfect place for breakfast on a recent motorcycle trip through the area. Clean, friendly, great food, easy parking, amish sights.

Joyce Atwood

The reason I only gave one star is because I bought some apple dumplings that were just awful last week. (Oct 2019) The dough on the bottom was raw, the apple wasn't cooked and all brown in the middle and not due to any cinnamon or spices. Just looked rotten. They came two in a package and I bought two of them..Needless to say I threw them all away! I do have to say the people were friendly and it was a nice shop to look around in, but I wouldn't buy apple dumplings from there again.

Will Turner

Good sandwiches. Get the baked goods

Ted Driver

Nice selection of pies - the Pecan was great!

Marie Corriher

Every year my husband and I come to Lancaster to celebrate our Anniversary. While here, we always eat lunch at this cafe just about everyday of our visit. It has become our favorite place to eat lunch. The sandwiches are AWESOME and so is the soups. The atmosphere is great!!! And there are samples you can try too while here. We look so foward to our trip every year!!! Hope you will give this place a try. I really think you will enjoy it as much as we do. Oh yeah, and if you have never tried the Shoofly pie, this is the place to sample it. This is where I found out I loved that pie!!!!

Lee Gemmill

Servers were very nice so was the food.

al in Las Vegas

Good fresh bakery goods and good ice cream

Ragen Horst

Great local spot for a quick coffee or sandwich.

Susan Dumaresq

Cute sandwich shop with delicious salads and sandwiches!

Robin Henchcliffe

The food is great but noticed a difference since the last time we were there . We ate breakfast there 4 times 2 out of 4 the order was wrong. I ordered something’s to pick up before we left . They forgot to give me one of the things I ordered and I ordered bread and asked for it to be sliced . They didn't slice the bread. So lesson learned check your order before you leave . They are very nice and friendly .

Tola Izard

I purchased there goods from a farmers market in Harrisburg. There goods are simple and well made. The donuts I bought were moist, delicious, and had a much better shelf life than Dunkin. Their cupcakes were great too. I deducted a point for the loaf of bread I purchased. I was hoping for a sweet bread with a slightly hard crust i.e. Brioche or Challah. They only had cake like breads and white. I picked the white and it had a simple taste almost salty and consistency.

Dennis Kilanowski

Great coffee & pastry.

Katherine Reynolds

We drive from Baltimore at least once a month to buy artisan bread (asiago cheese and Apple pecan). So delicious.

Danita Hersh

Great place to stop for a doughnut!

Jose R Lopez

The bakery is located in the lower part of Bird-in-Hand. You have many choices to choose from when it comes to all kinds of bake goodies. From different flavors in cakes to many kind of cookies, all kind of fruit pies and fresh baked bread. Believe me when I say, if you're looking for bake goods, I'm almost sure you will find it here.

Julianna Dorozynsky

Blackberry pie.... you mean hard seed pie? Coconut cream pie had bland and watery custard. Crust was dry. Skip this tourist trap and buy it from a grocery store.

phillip o'neil

very slow service, took 15 minutes for 2 sandwiches and they still got it wrong. This place use to be so nice now so commercial.

S j

This bakery has a lot of sweets. One of my favorites is the ice cream sandwich. It's delicious. The prices are on the high side but that seems to be the norm in the area. The workers are nice and professional, has a smile on their faces. The store is not that crowded most of the time. If you go upstairs, you can be seated and eat a proper meal. Overall, fun place to visit to get some good treats.

Jeff Wilson

Great Bakery....great Donuts

John Raddatz

A little bit off the beaten path, but well worth the effort! The best shoo fly pie you'll ever eat, delicious ice cream and soup, and a great variety of other baked goods.

Yvonne M Patterson-Quirk

Lisa Charles

Best apple fritters in the world. Cafe is amazing and the ice cream too!

Kimberly Miller

William Simon

Great place for coffee and pasteries

Andrew McDowell

A nice little bakery with a good selection

Frederick Kline

Delicious dessert..

Sharon Ruhl

Very good service. Little odd that the one old lady smelled like weed. It was a bit concerning coming from a cafe.

fairytail4life Nalu

Just lovely & very reasonably priced

Nina Konish

Exceptional & delicious food & the dinner buffet - the meats & vegetables - scrumptiously fine & all the desserts are simply devine. Always for over 35+ years as our favorite place to stay and enjoy the ambiance and all the most wonderful food that we have each day. The housekeeping is perfect as can be and I hope you enjoy this review from me!!!

Xm 48

This is a clean eatery that serves sandwiches, ice cream, bake goods, and ice cream / coffee drinks. The salads here are great and there are plenty of nice places to sit. However, the sandwiches taste average but are priced above average. The staff is very friendly here.

Melissa Mintern

Must stop during any visit to lancaster. Amazing ahop full of every comfort food you ever wanted. Helpful staff, lovely environment convenient location.

Natalie Furman

Ausom!!! Good coffee, great pastry. Beautiful decorations. Nice (but expensive) quilt shop upstairs.

Lou Stellato

Great place. Good pastry at reasonable prices.

John Halasa

Fresh food, clean, staff very good. Breakfast sandwiches are the best.

Christine Gunning

Very good pies and cupcakes.

David Lovingood

Food was excellent and good value for price. All food is homeade and delicious. They also have great ice cream. My wife and I shared a banana split and it was awesome. We also didn't leave without picking up a few homemade foods to go. Bathroom's were clean and are all around experience was great. We will definitely be going back the next time we are in the area.

Arun Meena

Yummy salads with farm fresh veggies.

Brad Whistler

Fantastic atmosphere. Loved our lunch in the loft area. The food is average sandwich food and a little high priced. Still a nice place overall.

Gregory Iannolo

Deli and bakery items looked yummy. We tried the shoefly pie and whoopie pie. Very satisfied with both.

John Smith

We ordered a southwestern chicken panini and a salad. Salad was ok but for the price it was actually tiny barely anything there. The chicken panini, on the other hand, was soggy sloppy mess with maybe 4 thin chicken strips barely covering half of the sandwich. Other half of the sandwich was just some tomato slices and little seasoning on stale white bread. I think Amish people are getting tired of making food for fat, non-amish people. I've tried few restaurants in Lancaster recently and they all pretty much SUCK! With all the decent restaurants popping up everywhere these days, I'm not sure if there are any reasons to visit Lancaster anymore if their food has gone down-hill so much lately.

Ed Murphy

My wife had never had shoofly pie, and this was a good opportunity to catch her up. We found a complete selection of local fare at the Bird-in-Hand Bakery, but we found the crowding distracting and the offerings sort of dear. That said, it's still worth a stop to get a feel for the Pennsylvania Dutch area.

maureen markley

Slow service just to get a cup of soup and donut and coffee took 15 minutes.

Christian

Cute little bakery, good coffee

Allen F

The best donut's in the world are the powdered cream filled.

Kat Jewell

Ephraim and Amanda Stoltzfus

Smaller selection of items, but clean store and reasonable prices.

Roni Cohen

Great Fasnacht! Tried 1 powdered sugar & 1 glazed

Barry Mann

Great homemade foof.

Dawn Parks

Clean friendly a lot of choices.cakes breads cream puffs good prices.

Alyssa Mann

Awful compared to years past. I have been coming for years specifically for the doughnuts that used to be filled with so much filling and completely covered in fluffy frosting. The peanut butter filled had barely any frosting on top and it was not even the same delicious frosting. The inside had a bite of filling which also was not good. The girl that boxed them put 6 different doughnuts into a small box without any paper so the frosting went all over and they all got smushed. Definitely will be looking for a new bakery the next visit.

Mai Gyver

Wish there was a bigger selection but the items there looked great. Got the raisin bread which was fluffy and delicious. Nothing like the stuff from grocery stores....of course.

Sue D.

Bird-in-hand Bakery makes the best raisin bread in the whole United States, hands down! When my grandsons and I visit the Lancaster area, we always bring some home, including some extra loaves to keep in the freezer until we're ready for it. Also, everything else they make is fantastic, too!

Eugene Pritchard

Remodeled. Lost its old time flavor. Now a modern bakery. Not as Dutchy as it was.

Melony Costello

Why oh why did they change this place we use to love it. It took 20 minutes to get a bowl of soup and an apple fritter. People behind the counter couldn’t even see us there because they were standing in back of huge separation wall giggling and talking. Food not as good as it use to be a few years back when smaller. Shows you bigger is not always better.

Kristin Crowley

Great bakery. Open early. Very helpful staff with delicious sweet options.

Kathy Wagner

Get the Sticky Buns with Nuts.....

Shirley Vinoski

Excellent sweets and service

Cheryl Bellis

Would not recommend this place. Too commercialized. Did not care for the baked goods and it is definitely over priced.

Greg Beers

Nice bakery that does things as close to homemaed as it gets they just remodle and i can say they maed it a better pkace with outdoor seating both up stairs on a balcone and on street leavel very visavle frome the road its close to other shopes as well. And a nice hotel and campegrounds are very close.

Rachel Gavilondo

Best whoopie pies and shoofly pie I've ever had! All the baked goods are amazing! The ice cream is also delicious!

Mary Crouthamel

Yummy. We had an apple fritter. It was really good. The other pastries look delicious. The coffee was good. Great place to stop in.

John Reed

Web site is not good! Very slow!

Linda Reedy

Bird in hand bakery best baked goods we ever tssted.

Aimee Finley

Came here after a delicious lunch experience. Grabbed some baked goods and a scoop of Strawberry Cocunut Chocolate Chip Ice Cream. What a combination but works wonderfully. Staff didnt know why the batch didnt thicken but that didnt matter. Very nice place and a cute petting zoo too! Will definitely come again!

Eric Van

The workers here are so nice and friendly and all their home-made baked goods are delicious. This place definitely deserves 5 stars

Lois Greene

Sandwich bread was dry but was replaced with delicious fresh multigrain bread.

Ben Thomas

Very clean and quaint place. Friendly staff and great selection of baked goods. Close to a handful of antique stores as well for casual shopping or souvenir pickups

Karen Kervin

Amazing bakrd delights and the best bread ever. I didn't eat at the deli but the menu looked delicious. Bird-in-Hand is a cute, amazing area and the bakery has a 2nd level so patrons can eat with a view of Amish buggies going by. I would recommend this place for a quick bite or to buy divine baked goods including homemade pie crust to take home and make your own pies!

Amanda Mcclain

This was the worst service i have ever had at a place. It took 15 minutes for a salad and they forgot the chicken on it anyway and i was only 1 of 2 people in the whole place. Then they overcharged me for a bag of chips that had a special sticker price on it and when i saod something to the elderly lady she got mad and handed me a dollat and said are we good now. Im sorry you over charged me and did your job wrong lady. Never again.

Morgan Shrift

I had the Bird-in-Hand Bakery make my wedding cake and whoopie pie favors. They did an AMAZING job! Ashley McFalls made our cake and she completely nailed it! It was amazing and everything I could have hoped for. They even packaged my whoopie pies really nicely. The guests loved the whoopie pie favors and the cake not only looked amazing, it tasted amazing. I felt that they were also very reasonably priced. I wasn't looking for anything large (just two tiers) and other places I visited charged a flat rate no matter what size and had a flat rate delivery fee. I felt that the Bird-in-hand bakery was very reasonably priced and the delivery fee was very reasonable as well. I couldn't be happier.

Tracee Mendenhall

Yummy treats, helpful staff.

Jules Tam

Loved this place! Great food, clean and nice staff. Food was so fresh and good! We also brought their pies which were fresh and delicious. My husband loves their apple fritters! They have good iced lattes too! Will def go visit again!

Star 500

Some stuff as so many stores in the area.

Teresia Johnson

We had soup and sandwich, was delicious...very friendly....

Samuel Sutter

very new looking, great spot.

Cindy Ruby

Was not impressed at all. Known for their woopie pies. They were all frozen. And their pies are priced too high and they were small. They are ridiculous. Would not call that a cafe!

Bob Fink

Awesome bakery! I highly recommend. They have great breakfast and lunch sandwhiches. They also have awesome baked goods like their pound cake is so moist and delicious. Apple fritters are great too.

William Allen

Wonderful.Real Amash food.Great place to see.

Best Eggplant Mozzarella Panini I've ever had! Service was great as well.
