REVIEWS OF St. Honoré Bakery SE Division IN Oregon

Bill Cullen

Very buttery pastries, big artisan round loaf of bread for $10.25 so expensive, tasty panninis. If you sit in the back you can watch the bakers prepping. Fun. Good big television on the woman's national soccer team during brunch today. A little too $$$ for us but fun.

H Rutherford

Food is great, pastries are great. Pretty spendy. Over $40 for breakfast for 2, but good for a treat once in awhile

IndigoPharoah

Wonderful bakery and friendly staff.

Theodore Hellmann

The title “Meilleuir Ouvrier de France” - which translates to “best craftsman of France” - can be read on the door - and it shows. The desserts here are quite uniquely good and I would decisively recommend stopping in for a dessert and coffee.

Zet

Delicious pair to share, on new year's day.

Magnolia Lyle

Yummy food and good service

Foxman

Coffee was amazing & the food was even better. Dessert was fantastic also. Relaxing environment that feels very clean & classy. Staff was patient & very kind. 10/10 will go again

Dez Beason

Best bakery in town. Croissants are amazing. Kinda spendy thought. However I think it's worth it for the quality of food served. Service was good.

BiJohn E

A beautiful place for brunch and coffee.

james standal

It's good. But after eating here multiple times, I would say the price on the food is a bit absurd. Good tasting for sure though. If you are looking for a good French bakery, there are a handful of better places in town. But if you are on Division looking for something quick with a good cup of coffee, stop in and try it out.

Lynn Gulick

The people are friendly and the atmosphere is so relaxing. The food is so yummy and comforting. This is a must stop if in the area.

Hayden Lockhart

Great bakery with a larger menu for a heartier meal. I enjoyed a frittata and a wonderful, handmade muffin.

Gibran Ramos

Update: No infant changing station in the bathroom. Downgraded rating. It is the little things that make a big difference in the overall experience. Best French pastries I've had in America. Authentic French preparation techniques. French bakers. Light fluffy pastries. Yummy sourdough. Excellent French breakfast and lunch cafe cuisine. Great espresso drinks.

Isabela Durighello

Love this little cafe for when I feel like I need a little imaginary get away to France. Everything here is fresh, delicious, and decedent.

spdaddy62

Very pleased and happy with the service. Food is awesome and very well done.

Chuck Klein

Lovely selection tastes pasteries, breads, etc. Also pizza. Coffee bar.

Douglas Dillingham

I wish petite provence was this good, cause they're right across the street from me.

sandra tafta

Super yummy!! You have to try the hazelnut croissant!! It's so so good!!

Les Klassen Hamm

Pleasant, bright space with lots of windows, French vibe, great food.

Jessica Cornelius

Friendly staff, very talented bakers, and pleasant atmosphere on the east side. I was so distracted by the beautiful pastries that I will have to go back for some french onion soup next time.

Lance Lash

Cute little bakery with an assortment of pastries. No cookies.

Lisl Stadler

Some delicious treats! I had a small chocolate tart, which is so rich I ended up finishing it over the course of a few days. Can't wait to go back and try more.

Jessica Collins

Everytime I go here instantly regret it. Over priced, often overcooked and spoiled food with long wait times. Not impressed by poor quality and service. Good reviews are mostly submitted by friendly tourist.

David Legg

St H has delicious food. On this occasion we had an event to attend so we took our order to go. They were very accommodating.

hookoomookoo ?

Beautiful veggie sandwich, first rate coffee.

Shana Richardson

I love everything here. They even have a good gluten free selection.

David Dang

Great little boulangerie in the neighborhood. They have a great selection of French desserts. Their quiches are larger than it needs to be but it is pretty good dish. Pick up some treats or a baguette if you're in the area.

Erin Carney-Bell

Ugh! Ridiculously delicious

Jonica Eveland

Best quiche! Quaint, cozy - one of my favorite places

Laurin Radcliffe

always wonderful. not pictured; my absolutely delicious brie aux fines herbes sandwich. that and their perfect tarte citron have been my favorites for years and years, at every location.

Charles Russell

One of the few places in Portland that you can get a reasonable baguette. Most other places have edible baseball bats,

Taylor Stone

Super ! Lovely spot to get early morning coffee, read the paper at a nice long wooden table by the window (or sit outside in the beautiful sun in the summer) and enjoy a delightful pastry or lunch.

Kirill Fortygin

Unique bakery goods. Decent coffee. Nice staff and pleasant decore.

Mary McElroy

Absolutely delicious pastries.

Beth F.

Loved dessert!!!! -- Chilled Chantilly Cream and fresh strawberries with carmelized pastry crust. OMG! lol. Delicious French desserts, breads, croissants, quiches, and salads. Quiet bistro vibe for lunch with a friend, or perfect for date night.

Patrick LohKamp

Lovely space open early, all of their food is wonderful. Great staff. Good coffee. Lots of tables for one or two people, a couple of larger spaces for groups.

Sam Kuzma

amazing baked goods. great selection. not cheap. not great bedside manner.

wendy thomas

The only problem with this Bakery is it so far from where I live takes me over an hour to get there but it's worth it every time if you crave really great French pastries you must go here!

Sarah Rose

Amazing bakery but be warned, there are no outlets for studying!

Ali Ritter

Personal, friendly staff gave us a sample, talked to us about the products, and was helpful about other places to eat in Portland. Good cafe ambiance, plenty of seating, free wifi, DELICIOUS food, desserts, and pastries and Umbria coffee. Fresh breads, very good croissants, and a bar with drinks and lunch fare.

Ruth Miles

I love scheduling meetings here. You can watch the staff make bread and pastries while you sip fabulous coffee or tea and nibble on the best croissant you've ever had.

Adam Cartner

Excellent bakery with traditional French pastry. Really good savory options like sandwiches, salads and soups. Very charming ambiance

Teresa

Love this cute French bakery. I came here to have breakfast and adored the vibe. The fresh bakery in the back is quite the production. They had in and outdoor seating. The croque madame I had was decadent. I also took a loaf of bread home for the week. The service was friendly and fast. I would definitely come back to try a pastry.

kate fortin

Excellent delectable fare, quiche first rate..pastry superb...but so important...it is an expansive warm environment...very pleasant to spend time with a friend here.. Also, note to staff: keep being kind and intelligent. .love you!*+++

Alina Lukyan

The atmosphere and food is great here! I always come here and brought my family and friends along, but on my most recent visit I noticed one of the workers would occasionally fix his hair and get back to moving food with his bare hands either into bags or into the microwave with no gloves on and without hand washing. That kind of concerned me and now I'm debating on coming back. Cleanliness is everything

IsabellaThePotato

I had the most amazingly sweet pastries! I had a seasonal strawberry cream pastry with bread top and bottom~ then I had a seasonal berry tart! They were both exquisite and I love this place! Can't wait to try more~ They have good food from sandwiches to bread to baked good to pastries. Their bathroom is fresh and clean, plus the service is wonderful and efficient for people on the go. They work their hardest to meet the needs of their customers and smile brightly a smile that you can tell isn't fake. It is a good place to relax, hang out or find some peace.

Martin Marshall

The food and service here are amazing! I love how they are always offering up a yummy sample while you're waiting to place your order.

Juliana White

This is a charming little eatery to stop by for a quick bite. Ever pastry I've tried has been fresh and tasty, with some interesting combinations you might not find in other places.

Nickohlas Skinner

I didn't know how to say any of the dishes but I got a door dash delivery and had the best dessert of my life! Thank you!

Jimi Dodge

Really what can I say? If you want some french pastries etc, you can't go wrong here. I highly recommend the egg fritata sandwich for breakfast. Delicious and will keep you full past lunch time!!!

Bart Phillips

Food is five star, service is frequently slow.

Michelle Gardiner

Nothing really had any flavor

Holly Ramos

Great selection I've had the pastries and also the duck salad both were phenomenal. Plus is has such a fun European flare.

Bart Wahlgren

Beautiful bakery with an amazing selection. The chocolate hazelnut croissant was delicious.

James Lake

We went here for lunch and it was lovely. Quiche was fluffy, perfectly cooked. My wife had a salad that was very fresh with a house made vinaigrette. The bread we ordered was a very nice brioche.

Satch Lam

Amazing pastries.... Mic drop.

Lynn Clark

My daughter and I came in for an afternoon snack, and we are so happy we did. I ordered the St Honore, why was absolutely delicious. The caramel was had that perfect tinge of burnt with an impeccable crunch. The whipped cream was barely sweet (perfection). My daughter had the treat with strawberries and pastry cream, and WOW! I wish we lived in Portland, because we'd be frequent customers.

Josh Melling

Friendly staff, beautifully decorated interior, good coffee, great bread and pastries! Absolutely worth popping in to either one of their PDX locations if you're in the area!

Jon Hallman

Great drinks and pastries lots of seating. Definitely going to come back soon

Darell Duffy

The absolute best pastries this side of Paris or Normandy as may be the case. So many favorites. They also make terrific bread everyday and a very respectable cappuccino.

Lynn Della

Très français! Lingering over quiche, a salad and coffee for three hours while visiting with a friend ....

Olga Cherchenko

Got the raspberry tart , it was so so good! The tomatoe mozarella balsamic sandwich wasn't for my taste buds though, was a bit too sour...

David Dixon

We typically hit up the St Honore on the west side, as we use to live there, but I was very impressed with this one. Their little courtyard for seating as well as the large interior is a great fit for Division. Love their pastries and their food in general too. I imagine this place will be bumping once the nice weather is fully here.

Prentiss-Jane Fabela

I love this bakery. They always have good coffee, good service, and delivious baked goods. The eclairs in particular are pretty much a must have and so delicious that i can never pass them up. They also have a super cute atmosphere with barn/family tables or cafe seats (round table with little seats), there is also outdoor seating available.

Norrine Smokey Smith

Gpod food but small portions, overpriced. I get excellent quality & much tastier pastries for less at another French bakery nearby.

Wide-Eyed Eel

Decent bread and various other foods, they tend to sell out of most bread by the end of the day, so it's a good idea to get there an hour or two before closing time if your looking for bread. Prepared food wise, they have several varieties of thick crust square-cut pizza and nice pastries among other things. They do use cheddar in some of the pastries which detracts a bit, in my opinion.

Cathy Greenwood

The best. Delicious. And watch the chefs making pasteries

stephen fisher

So disappointed one of the only peanut free bakeries in Portland. Just started making peanut butter cookies

Seth Burkhalter

Atmosphere was great, they make everything up front, excellent service

Mark Bittler

Good coffee, decent pre-prepared breakfast food. The pastries are the real stars here.

Eke Dubois

You can go there for real uncompromised French Chausson aux Pommes AND Chouquettes. I mean it. It is very rare in USA. Croissants au Beure are really ordinary and boring. Not worth it. Pastries such as St Honoré are perfect! Thank you for being there.

Marlene Harvis

Always delish ! Had the chef salad it was great

Steven Silver

Ordered a Saint Honore cake for my Partner's birthday and it turned out amazing. Very flavorful and several people asked the name so they can get one for their own birthdays.

Sumer Gregg

We went for the weekend brunch + $10 bottomless mimosas, but will keep going back for the amazing breads and pastries. Judging by pleasure-face at all tables- everything is good here. Eggs were perfectly fluffy, bacon perfectly crisp and bread worth breaking every gluten free rule. They even have their own trade marked bread the Miche Banal™. They also have several Gluten-Free options if you aren't into breaking rules. This is a new must-visit for out of town guests.

Nicholas DePatie

Quite delicious although slightly annoying that they ran out of poached eggs when I went. I'm not sure how a place that serves breakfast runs out of eggs but the quiche I had was outstanding.

Sofiya Gulyy

This is THE place to go for a nice breakfast. I have not found a place that has desserts as good as St. Honorés. A must for all with a sweet tooth.

Saad Qahtani

Friendly staff. Delicious breakfast. The white mocha was great.

Marcus Homan

Super friendly people in a calm inviting environment with delicious food choices and great coffee. What more do you want?

My kouign amann was hard and dry. Yuk. Will not return.

nikki ganata

Its okay. When I go to any place, more than just the food... I come back because of the awesome customer's service. This place have good food, not so much on the customer's service. No one greeted me when i entered. And they're werent busy at all. There was no one a head of me. I had to grab the guy's attention to serve me coz he was busy on his cellphone. Im a little disappointed.

Sheryn Schwartzenhauer

Love the beet salad and so many wonderful pastries!!

David Clark

Must stop location for baked goods. Best seats inside watching the bakers prep for the day. It is amazing seeing such talent.

Natalie Ackerman

The food is pretty good and I have never been disappointed in the pastries. But the service could be better. I worked in the service industry for five years so I know that sometimes you are just out of energy. However I have been in several times and only once have I been greeted by someone friendly and kind. Most recently I went in and both the workers I interacted with treated me like an annoyance. The place was nearly empty so they weren't busy, and I ordered a sandwich promptly. My name was incorrect on the ticket so it took them calling the wrong name twice before I went up to ask if they meant my name. The worker again seemed annoyed that I had taken more than a few seconds to come grab an order that had been called with the wrong name. I would love to have this as a regular lunch spot as I live just down the street but the service keeps it from being worth my time and money.

Louise Rose

I went into this location for the first time last week and loved it! The service I received was awesome, I didn't get the name of the guy who served me my delicious pastry but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. He seemed to be genuinely friendly and was happy to talk with me about the quality of the pastry. I wish I had gotten his name so I could commend him an being an excellent employee. The interior is darling too! I just loved it! If you're looking for that French cafe experience with awesome service and great pastries go here!

Kristinachka Flato

This place has the most disgusting salads! 50% of my salad was rotten

Jimmy Cleveland

Fantastic food, never a wait. Legitimate French bakery.

Sarah Kerchusky

We tried bread, breakfast menu, macrons, and pastries. Everything was very tasty. Dining atmosphere is casual. Coffee is decent.

Rebecca Fujita

Took my mom here for mother's day. It is very nice. Only gave it 4 stars because there was a burnt smell.

Eric Foss

I haven't been to France before, but I'd imagine the baked goods taste very similar to what you find here. The food here was amazing and I loved the atmosphere! I'll definitely make it a point to come back the next time I visit Portland.

Brad Michael

Great French food in a fun, European atmosphere.

Christopher Springmann

Sensational French baguettes, a cheerful professional very upbeat staff!

Rebecca Vestal

Always amazing. I tried the croque monsieur and was blown away with how good it was. The pastries are delightful as well

horace T

Nice ambience, good pastries, but coffee still lacking the Frenchie flavour

Faye Lundberg

Everything here is perfect! Just eat the thing!

CF Huling

Lemon tart was exquisite!

Joe Gallagher

This store and its sister in the NW district are the best French bakeries in Portland, without any doubt. Croissants and pastries are exquisite.

Courtney Roberts

Love the pastries. Haven't had the bread yet, but it looks very nice. Some waitstaff have been a bit brusque bordering on rude, but it's a small percentage. They used to have live music sometimes, the evening but haven't seen any in a while. Might just be going on non-music n8ghts.

Edward Louie

I think this place makes the best croissant and baguette in Portland. Fyi croissant is 1 dollar the first Wednesday's on every month, limit 1 per person, while supplies last.

konst mos

Loved the service and atmosphere. I wish I had chosen something besides the chicken pastry I got, wasn't a huge fan of it. Will come back for some sweets!

Jessica Maeder

Consistently well baked pastries, friendly staff.

Scott Pinner

We came here for breakfast mid morning on a whim and walked away happy and stuffed. Food and coffee were great and the staff were superb. How much better can an experience be when the Baker is happy to talk with you kids, demonstrate baking, give you food tips for the city, and give your kids cookies. Couldn't have been more happy or better taken care of. Great place!

Aric Clark

Phenomenal pastries but the lunches here are the best.

Matthew Dressa

Haven't tried too many of the food options but the hot chocolate is the best I've ever had. Much recommended.

Todd Ellner

A small, upscale chain of French bakeries in small upscale locations. You'll find classic patisserie and boulangerie products very competently presented as well as sandwich/salad fare.

Rob Stoltz

just look in the case. If it looks good, it will be good. I've had almost everything at least once, and it is always very good.

Gal Yedidia

Nice little place. Great food and atmosphere. Stuff very nice and helpful. The sandwich was great, the beer, the coffee and the desert.

Nicholas Kazan

Almond croissant was a day old and, evidently hard. But it only cost $4.50! Coffee was good, to soak the croissant. Pardon mois, but this a reap off!

Robin Hiebler

Great soups

Callista Gomez

Fantastic food, great coffee, and the staff don't hold it against you if you butcher the French pronunciations. The French Onion soup is my favorite in the city and their pastry case is always mouth watering!

Anita Bartholomew

Great food--but OWNER PLEASE TAKE NOTE: the staff make sure you don't want to stay to eat there. Last Saturday, a friend and I planned to go to a different restaurant on Division, but there was a long wait. I recalled this place from a couple of earlier visits and suggested we try there. When we walked in, they were blasting music through speakers that couldn't handle that volume, so all you really heard was distortion. The music was also just totally wrong for the atmosphere--a danceable, pounding rock. I asked the woman who waited on us at the counter to turn it down. She said she would, but if she did, the change was almost imperceptible. I asked again, and she got it down to where it was, at least, less distorted, but we still couldn't have a dinner discussion. They appeared to have no forks available and the person at the counter offered plastic. I said, thanks, but I would like a real fork, and a second wait-person found us some actual silverware. When that second wait-person brought my friend's beer, we asked a third time about lowering the volume. She seemed annoyed that we would ask, and made a comment about how she'd have to dance that much harder. I joked back that she could dance as hard as she wanted, as long as we could hear each other. She never turned it down. In a restaurant that has so much potential for charm, it was a real turn-off, especially since one of the times I'd been there in the past, they had live gypsy jazz, which fit the atmosphere perfectly. This negatively affected what could have been a lovely evening. I won't be back.

Jamie Payne-Miller

Fantastic breakfast and pastries! The manager was amazing and gave us lots of tips on areas to visit and things to do during our visit in the Portland area!

Ben Simon

Great place for baked goods, coffee, or sandwiches! Fresh bread and knowledgeable staff. Great place for families. Kids can watch the bread being made.

Joel Knutzen

Nice looking bakery with some good treats to have.

Kurt Brendley

The chef that makes their bread won the most prestigious French bakery award. You can tell...

Dan Jensen

Amazing selection of pastries, both sweet and savory. Clean and professional always, and quiet and comfortable place to enjoy a tasty treat and a visit with friends.

Zachary Clark

Food was great

David Wagner

If you have a hankering for an eclair or the crustiest of French bread, this is the place to go.

Justin Fleskes

I want to try all of there baked goods. The items that I've eaten there are the best quality. The restaurant was clean and is in a great location for the post meal stroll.

Sasha McKinley-Yunker

Quaint and upscale at the same time, with round white marble tables big and airy windows that roll up at the storefront. Ideal brunch and coffee date territory. Crispiest croissant in town that will scatter you with crumbs that are. so. worth. it.

Katie Collins Guinn

A friend and I stopped here yesterday and ordered together. I asked for ice water, and they sent me to the water station (with room temp. water (they don't have ice, because yep, that's not french!). My friend's meal arrived ten minutes before mine did. When I finally got my food, I asked for hot sauce and the server said in a very condescending way that no they don't because it's not french. OK fine, so the food should taste good on it's own right? I ordered a poached egg in a brioche bun with bacon. That bacon was NOT fresh, and the egg was seriously runny and COLD inside. I know that is why I got sick later that evening. This is all after pre-tipping them 20% (not french!). They didn't check on us once, and of course we bused our own tables, which is also, not french.

Ruth Britton Yasui

What a fantastic and fun breakfast/brunch eatery! There is a wide array of food from pastries to panini's. There are even about five or six gluten free options for those who have dietary restrictions. It's a bit crowded and the tables are small. Seat yourself and pay at the counter, the feeling is relaxed and informal, while yet being quite fancy.

J C

It's an okay French bakery. I've tried pain au chocolate and eclairs...meh. I like Petit Provence much better

Louisa Chatroux

Overpriced, not air conditioned and spotty or non existent wifi. Has definitely gone downhill which is super sad cause it used to be a great place for tasty pastries and good workspace :(

Life is Awesome Here

Over all it's a great place, but some of there employees make a lot of mistakes especially on coffee orders. Also one time We needed to purchase baked goods for our office and they didn't want to sell one item because they would be out of it. But the food is good.

Olivier Zyngier

Good pastry, not cheap

Steffen Wade

Stopped in after dinner for a amazing, super rich, chocolate cake and cappuccino. Both were very well done. Everything in the display case was tempting.

Michael Whyte

Great food high price. When they first opened they were friendly caring staff now u get hi and bye fast not so friendly. But still great coffee and damn tasty pastery

Cj Boaz

Delicious!

Oscar Fre

I have eaten here twice now, but I had forgotten why I do not usually eat here. If you're in the mood for cold sandwiches or a pork oriented breakfast croissant, Great! You have arrived at the location! However, if you are looking for a hot lunch, this is not the destination for you.

Chelsea Carpenter

Great pastries and breakfasts! We also liked how big the space is and the decor was very nice as well. Docked a star because the chai was pretty weak

Dar Finn Wright

Absolutely delightful French pastry resturant. Amazong service amazinf flavors. Thoroughly enjoyed my croissant and fruit tart!!

Katryn Bruce

This is a great place for a quick sandwich and tasty treats. Their food is very good and their dessert choice is top-notch. They make their stuff on site, and there's a cool little viewing area to their sheeter station where you can watch them prep their dough. Their coffee is a dark European style, and looking past it not being my preferred roast, it leaves something to be desired. A lot of their seating is also really uncomfortable, so it's not really a place to hang out for a long time. I left out one star because I have walked in a couple times close to closing (maybe 10-15 minutes before) and have effectively been kicked out. I totally understand wanting to close on time, but if you're not willing to run a transaction after a certain time, your hours should reflect that.

Ryan Nowell

Always love the coffee and treats here!

D G

One word describes them: YUMMY!

Matt Reynolds

Tasty French themed food. Enjoy a croissant and cafe while watching people flow by.

kyle ainsworth

Fancy as eff

Maika

Best croissants in Portland. Period.

Vilija Jozaitis

Amazing bakery items! There are hundreds of places to go in Portland, and we keep craving this bakery. It's like they add some magical ingredient in every item. And it feels what I imagine France might be like (all they need is some French background music). Employees are sooo nice, too! Love it, love it!!!!!

jim whyte

Good isn't bad but nothing to write home about. Service good

Dana Nichols

French pastries and light café fare. I had what I can only describe as the best chicken pot pie ever, although the proper name escapes me. Flaky, crispy outside, rich and creamy inside. Yum. Took a fruit tart and Quign aman to my sister-in-law that were too pretty to pass up!

Maria Mcclean

Delicious:)

Emily Nieves

Good food! Friendly service! I had the Quiche Lorraine and it was awesome! Highly recommend it!

Kriss Crowley

AMAZINE...BEAUTIFUL PATISERY REALY NICE PEOPLE..GREAT FOOD

Frederic Woodbridge

One of my favorite places when I visit Portland, I always make time to visit one of the few branches distributed around the city. Excellent pastries matched, incredibly, with great coffee.

Alena Kilyukh

Good coffee, good pastries, but a little too spendy.

Commander Stone

Nice little French bakery very reminiscent of a Paris cafe with wicker chairs and faux marble table tops. Authentic pastries with characteristical butter flavors in the creme. Comfortable nice little place.

RK Glass

Not just pastry!!! We went there for the pastry but my wife ended up getting the frittata croissant which came with side salad. I got a well brewed American, a French apple turnover and a mini Marionberry. There was a lot on the menu and we will being going back to try there wonderful food. Thank you!

Raphael Kahn

Fine food

Jody Resnicow

Enjoyed the Croque (spelling?) Madame!

Jordan Nguyen

Ordered the macaroons and small mocha. Great experience! Very relaxed ambience with great lightings for an afternoon snack.

Landon Craig

Great atmosphere. I do like LO better...

Drew Silverman

Wow, just a great experience. Food and pastries are wonderful, relaxing atmosphere too!

Evan Zaker

Nothing special... Feels like a chain.

Deirdre Ruiz

Great fresh french bread! I loved to get a lunch here with some coffee it's amazing. Also, Nice service!

Lorre

They have these little pastries in a bag- like ultra light donut holes- that are SOOoooo delicious and I can not stop thinking about them...

Matthew Gatheringwater

I like how the loaves of bread are also available as rolls, which is a great way to try a selection of all the delicious varieties. My favorite is the loaf with fennel and raisin. There are also miniature versions of their pastries. Can't choose? Get one of each! We split a quiche for breakfast one morning, and it was really great: crisp pastry filled with soft and creamy eggs. Cafe Umbria coffee. The atmosphere was loud--a little shattering for the early morning--but the courtyard seating was inviting. I can't imagine returning to this neighborhood without picking up a loaf to take home.
