Our waiter JEFF is the ONLY reason I gave this place a star at all! He made our whole sorry experience there tolerable. After hearing all the hype about this place and seeing their booth at a bridal show, we were entertaining the idea to use them to cater our daughter's engagement party but wanted to try them first so decided Mother's Day Brunch would be a good jumping off point but it was a total waste of money and time! Basically ruined my Mother's Day for more reasons than I can list. First of all, we made reservations and I specifically said to Lacee or Lizzy that there were definitely four of us but possibly five or six, well, five of us showed up thinking they can easily stick another chair on the end of the table, but when we asked, you thought we asked them to give up a kidney and basically told us that there are no more chairs... !?!...mean time we were staring at unused chairs at other tables. One bald waiter in particular was as rude and miserable as can be but not as rude and obnoxious as the guy at the front desk texting on his phone the entire time my daughter was asking him a question, he could not care less about anything other than finishing that text before even looking at her, the woman standing next to him actually had the gall to talk smack on my daughter as she walked away well within earshot! The breakfast food was ice cold and mediocre at best and when refilled they just cut in front of you without any patience or an "excuse me", and yet the only thing I did enjoy, they ran out of and twice. I went back on line to see if the waffles and fruit salad was refilled, but nope, had to share my husbands, which is ridiculous! The mimosa's were more like cheap sparking wine than champagne and the orange juice was warm, I couldn't even drink it, my husband scooping ice from his water glass to chill it so he could drink it. All this for $23 a person and $5 per drink!?! My daughter's fiance literally had to finally ask the table next to us if he can take the unused chair or he would have eaten sharing my daughter's chair! I mean, I get its Mother's Day and busy as can be, but if you are only taking reservations and in shifts to manage crowd control and at 10 AM just opening the doors for people to enter and giving them 1 and 1/2 hours with lines wrapped around the place, it means you don't have the infrastructure to support the crowds and maybe its time to rethink the whole game plan! I would not let this place cater my pet's birthday party given just how rude they were let alone the food being fair at best and you need understand I was born and raised in New York City, home of international cuisine and the rude, but in the 45 years I did live there, I never was treated to poorly as I was Ingrid's.
I love this old building that Ingrid's is in. It used to be an old grocery store and it's still got some of those characteristics. I ordered corned beef on marbled rye that's made here at the bakery. Oh man so good. I wanted to take a whole loaf home. My kids got a grilled cheese and a knackwurst also really good. We also ordered a few dessert which were delicious. They have a breakfast buffet on Saturdays and I believe they have live music still on the weekends. There used to be a polka band that played here when I was little. Ingrid's is a OKC staple for a reason
Delicious. Worth a trip off the beaten path. Great family atmosphere, delicious German traditional favorites as well as great delu sandwiches. And the desserts!!!
It was our first time going to Ingrid's and it was great. First you walk past all the yummy-looking pastries and contemplate eating dessert first. But their menu has many other options. Every thing was great!
We love Ingrid’s! I always recommend it. Great food, fun atomosphere and good service!
Traveling north from Tx and pulled up information and Ingrid’s was suggested. Great sandwich and the hot German Potato Salad was excellent. Just like what I make at home.
Excellent food and service. Never had a meal I didn't love. The bar is a great time and I highly recommend the mozzarella sticks. Best cheese sticks you'll have in your life. They come with honey mustard sauce instead of marinara which initially through me off but it's SO MUCH BETTER this way. If nothing else, go there for a giant beer and cheese sticks. At least two orders of both.
Incredible foods of Germany. Whether you enjoy bratwursts, schnitzel, liverwurst or reuben sandwiches, this place delivers the goods. The vastness of the desserts are immense and the few I've had so far were outstanding. Try it out for yourself. You won't be disappointed.
Disappointed, wasn't what l expected German food to taste like. Guess l'll stick with the foods l know best.
We went to the one on May Ave a few weeks ago and loved it. We had two entrees and 9 or so desserts. They were friendly and the food was great. We went to this one yesterday and somehow nothing was good. The bagel was hard as a rock, the “cinnamon” roll literally had no cinnamon (and it was labeled “cinnamon roll” and confirmed by the employee), the cream cheese danish was very dry, and my apple danish had an ENTIRE STEM in it! I don’t know how the experiences could be so vastly different. The employees were all gay at this one, maybe that’s the problem? Only noticeable difference from the other location; just an observation. Maybe they were too exhausted from parading every day.
Authentic German Food. Although, each German Restaurant has it's own variations so it's all personal preference
Except for the cashier trying to over charge me for some pastries, everything was amazing....
Great food, great service. Amazing mimosas.
Very good German food, had schnitzel dinner .
This is my first time visiting this particular restaurant and I truly enjoyed it. The food was amazing.
I have only been once had the ruben was good just needed more meat. I will definitely be going back to try more of their dishes and desserts.
Amazing german food and lovely staff.
Ingrid's catered our wedding and made our cakes and I will never use another catering service again! We got to customize everything, the catering consultant (Gene) was always available and so so helpful (he even came out to the venue a few weeks before to scope out setup sites!), and the food was SO amazing! Our cakes were fantastic and the decorator was so accommodating to my weird preferences! We LOVE Ingrid's!
Great food. Easy access. Perfect ambiance too!
The breakfast buffet was really good. Ingrid's does some really nice dishes. The Schnitzel was really good! The atmosphere was pretty calm and quiet. A great place for breakfast or brunch. Would definitely recommend!
Good German food. Awesome pastries. User unfriendly, no host to great you.
Great atmosphere and selection of food to pick from. Portion sizes were more than adequate and very tasty. We will definitely be coming back!
Great service friendly staff and good food
A wide selection of amazing pastries in their bakery. I love the German “divinity” cookie. The “butter” cookie is out of this world!! Friendly service.
Love this place! Never had a bad meal this is the first place we tried upon moving here four years ago. That hot meatloaf sandwich is my favorite. How many places please everyone with two styles of tater salad?
Always delicious and fresh. Relaxing environment and all around great food and baked goods.
Good food... great options..great pastries and baked goods
Delicious with an old cafe style. Lots of yummy treats.
This place has the best food and desserts! Sunday brunch is delicious!
Gotta love Ingrids. Good food all the way around!
Great atmosphere big portions and great service. I would definitely recommend and will go back myself.
Great place. Super nice german woman makes me feel like I'm at the grandmother's house having lunch/dinner. And desserts that are absolutely divine.
Best desert and food in OKC
Fun place to go. They had live music when I went on a Saturday morning, and the food was really good.
Good food, just really crowded
Sunday brunch buffet is amazing! Best fried chicken and chocolate molten cake around!
We love it here. Delicious food. Tempting baked goods\sweets. Banquet seating.
Geat food, cool enviroment.
Best weekend brunch! Always a favorite!
Great restaurant with a dessert selection second to none. Want authentic German cuisine? Head to Ingrids!
Great food and service! Half price apps from 4-6 on some items.
The service when you want to buy lunch meat is terrible. Attitude. I was very specific in the size of what I wanted to get cut and she did not pay any mind to it. When I told her it was cut way to thick, she tried to argue. I have no tolerance for that. When I want to buy quality fine foods, I expect better service. Walmart deli service does better then them. Not spending my money in there. As far as the bakery goes, pastry is nowhere authentic.
When I think good German food in OKC I instantly think Ingrids. Always a great plate, large portions at a decent price. Their pastry counters are second to none.
We called a week in advance to make reservations for Easter Sunday. We had a choice between 10am and 2:30pm. We asked if all the food the would still be available if we chose 2:30pm as it was the last reservation. They assured us the buffett would be stocked until 4pm with what they advertised. Well, it wasn't. Add in that it cost $95 for my family of 4, not happy. However, the food they had was good but not worth the price.
Ingrid's is pretty good. One of the few places I will eat sauerkraut at.
Amazing food! Daniel is the absolute best! Love Sunday brunch!
You will never find a nicer place or better food.
Ingrid's is always good. Fresh baked goods, good authentic food. It doesn't serve my flavor pallet for 5 stars. The pork was thinnly sliced and fried, and really took some sawing to get it to cut through. A result of over frying/cooking. Kinda ruined this last experience. But food is about a 3.5. Service is great, staff is friendly. I'd recommend trying it.
Good old home style cooking. Great desserts. Courteous service. I will definitely be going back
The customer service was actually quite awful from guy my friends and I had...
The spatzel is great. And there are so many delicious dessert options!
Always enjoy eating at Ingrids
We reserved the whole restaurant for a Christmas function in the evening and had a wonderful time. They served a satisfying buffet dinner consisting of turkey, stuffing, ham, green bean casserole and sweet potato casserole. The staff at the bar was also very friendly and attentive to all our needs.
Delicious cakes, pies, and cookies. Sandwiches and soups are excellent as well.
This place is off the chart awesome with endless deserts and good authentic german food. Service was excellent
Love the turkey and smoked Gouda sandwhich. Always have to get a piece of German Chocolate cake!
Great lunch location, they always have a special and everything taste very fresh and the flavor profile is excellent. They have their own bakery with things like breads and cakes. This makes a big difference on the sandwiches and of course the deserts are fantastic. I recommend the German potato salad anytime they have it, being a vinegar based its different the traditional American version and has a great vinegar taste.
Not any Deutsch food I've ever had and I lived in Bavaria for many years...SMH but the
Sunday brunch BUFFET! Decent selection of European style brunch foods and desserts. The mimosas were great (lots of champagne) and the service was very responsive and friendly. The price was decent $17 per person for buffet. We're definitely going back. :)
I love this place, but i have to be carefull about what i will eat. Some of there food will give me an upset stomach
Good food great service
Great food. Had the breakfast burrito, some eggs, and roasted potatoes. If you're someone who can eat, maybe just get two burritos. They're very fairly priced but not too big. The one thing I'd criticize is only for other Russians: Guys, don't get the Napoleon. It's not like ours. Don't get it twisted, it was still delicious. But I'm not huge into sweets normally and when I saw Napoleon, I once again became a six year old at babushkas table having my slice of deliciously decadent, moist, fluffy, custard filled with the dough at alternately layered into the custard. Tho, warned off, six year old me decided to wing it and could only handle two bites of disappointment before leaving in sorrow. The filing was a whipped cream style instead of a soft custard and the dough was still flaky. Had I been served it at a friends and it was called anything else, I would've eaten it and enjoyed it just fine, but I expected different and that's my own fault. Still, don't fall into the same pit of sadness and despair.
We meet there every Saturday. Always good.
Food is good. Nice experience. Not as good as when Ingrid owned it. However it IS Very good and the desserts are amazing.
I had the chicken artichoke quiche. It was very good. The portion sizes are big so I didn't have room for desert but the pastries looked amazing. Next time I'll have to go just for desert.
Good food, friendly staff and quick service! The bread was fantastic and the main dishes were delicious. We found the potato salad and red cabbage to be a little sweeter than we we liked/are used to, but we still be back. We were too full to try desserts, but they looked great so we took some home to try!
This was my first experience at Ingrid's and certainly not my last. Service was fast and friendly and the food...well...amazing! I had the meatloaf sandwich covered in bacon, cheese, and onion on a pretzel bun. My biggest problem will be next time deciding to try something else or just stick with what I know is delicious. And desserts? I had something they called a Butter Bar. Not sure exactly what is was but oh my gosh was it incredible!
Dessert first, please! The bakery is impossible to walk away with a sample of something. To top out off, their German food is the best.
A bit spendy perhaps. my German friend says that it is "bland". Feint praise from a German. Their deserts are really good, and I hear the Sunday Brunch is good
Dinner or lunch is a joy at Ingrid's. Wonderful German food and pastries along with typical deli offerings are the primary attraction. The portions are large so bring friends to share the bounty. They also have a good selection of German beer on tap and in bottles. I particularly enjoyed watching the dancers and listening to the jazz ensemble at their Saturday tea dance.
Ingrid's is great. I have had lunch and the Sunday buffet there. Both were amazing. The buffet was a bit pricey but worth every penny. They also have an on-site bakery. The bakery cranks out delicate pastries, which are a great contrast to the hearty European food that is served there. Each time our servers were courteous and attentive. The vibe of the place is more like a casual diner. Definitely will be back as long as my waistline allows it.
Great place for German food. They have a bakery there and you can get great bread and desserts to take home.
Cream horns were divine but German Chocolate Cake was not good. It was for my birthday and noone liked it.
Great food! Best German Chocolate cake & bakery
Unique place, friendly and helpful staff, I have only visited for weekend breakfast / brunch, great momoses, nice buffet. Little pricey.
Went for lunch on Saturday and came back Sunday for the brunch buffet! Amazing, home cooked style German food. The buffet includes some of their German dishes, and American breakfast and dinner options. I can't wait to go back!
First time eating here. Loved the food. Meatloaf sandwich with bacon
Amazing German food - feels like an authentic local spot. Enjoy the casual atmosphere and relaxed style. Have to try their bratwurst and schnitzel.
Fantastic food and a fun atmosphere. Definitely worth a stop if you're in Oklahoma City
Ingrid's has great food and huge portions. My husband and I usually share the dinners with plenty to eat for each of us.
Great food and pastries! The staff is very nice.
Love the food, breakfast, lunch and bakery, and the atmosphere...came here as a child when it was a grocery store with my grandmother...sat. noon to 2 the u.s. a band and dancing! Yummy cookies of all kinds...highly recommend
German cuisine at its finest. I strongly recommend Ingrids kitchen.
Awesome little place. Very authentic.
I love Ingrid's! Delicious food, a good selection of beer on tap, and lots of delicious dessert options.
Love the food and especially all of the desserts.
a cute and quaint eatery. The food is delicious and the baked goods look wonderful! The service was quick and the servers were kind. It is a walk up and order restaurant. They will bring you your food and bus your table. We got the pick 3 sides meal and it was wonderful. You can't go wrong with any of their sides.
Southwestern salad special was generously sized and quite tasty. Bakery items are delectable.
Yummy bakery and dinner
I've been to three German restaurants in search of German schnitzel. This is the first place to deliver on that. It was good, juicey and needed nothing on it to be thoroughly enjoyed. However, I'm not a sour kraut or German potato salad kind of person, as I discovered, so half my meal went uneaten which makes me feel awful. For the price, I thought the portions might be a little bigger.
I love this place! All of the food and service is great but I highly recommend the blue berry bagels.
Excellent food in a relaxed atmosphere
Such a good meal, German potato salad was the best I've ever had! Service was spectacular on the bar side (thanks Cassie (sp?)) and I'll have to visit again.
Great German cuisine! Wonderful bakery!
Ingrid's has an excellent bakery and really affordable prices compared to alternatives like La Baguette. The blueberry pie is one of my favorites, goes great with a scoop of ice cream (they have mini pies too). The savory food is good, but it could be improved. The bakery is much better.
Great bakery. The staff was awesome. Great selection of goodies.
As always the food was excellent. The service A+. Ingrids is okc best secret.
I recently had the Sunday brunch here where it runs just shy of $17 per person. Was it worth it? Yes! I loved the eggs benedict, and since the brunch is a buffet, that allowed me to have more than one serving. The roast beef was exceptionally tender and flavorful, the oven fried chicken was great, and I really enjoyed the sides. This is not a huge buffet, but everything they have is above average. I'm looking forward to coming here again.
Breakfast Buffet: Since I'm not a fan of buffets, this may be biased, but here goes....nothing on the breakfast side was very hot...pre-made waffles...the kind you can buy in a bag at SAM's (not toasted...wimpy, wimpy, wimpy!) bacon, wimpy!, powdered? scrambled eggs??? barely warm, Nothing appeared homemade...biscuits MIGHT have been, but looked store bought....didn't try them or gravy....fruit out of a bag...very disappointed. Hash brown potatoes were GREAT & seemed homemade...the only thing on Breakfast......Service was GOOD!!! The lunch buffet looked good, but again, only had breakfast. Desserts were great...bread pudding not as good as expected.....Will not be having this again. I know Ingrid has a great reputation, but disappointed in the Breakfast Buffet!!
Simply the best if you like German food and pastries of all sorts. Never disappointed here.
Good food and incredibly nice staff. I would've given 5 stars but I left one out so I could request more vegan/vegetarian options.
Great food great staff
Absolutely great food. So yummy
I had my daughter Birthday cake made here and it was wonderful!
Bakery fresh breads and sweets also weekend brunch is awesome
Eatin here a few times for lunch and it was amazing, did breakfast buffet and was not impressed!
Its not all that as much as its been on tv and the news noo no .There is only one good German place in Oklahoma that I've tried that is way better than this and it is the Royal Bavarian go there if u want GOOD german food....not really worth the drive here.. no jst no
If you like German food this is the place to go. Bratworse, german patoto salad. And much more.
Amazing food! The aroma engulfs you when you walk into door causing you to smile down to your core and that is even taking into account the wonderful cakes, cookies, pies and other desserts. Cannot wait for my next trip to Oklahoma City to go again!
Good hearty German food. The bakery was even better!
I took my boyfriend there for his first time. He absolutely loved the food, atmosphere and the staff is always friendly.
Took my employees for lunch for Christmas. Lee had been stationed in Germany and thought it was great. Monique had never been and loved it. She fell in love with the bakery. Lunch was great. Lots of food for the price. German Potato salad was to die for!
Great Food, great desserts, friendly staff.
Good variety of German and American food. Great bakery self seating and hole in the wall location but my go to for German food.
It was great!! Friendly staff and wonderful food!
Great gathering place wonderful food
Best German food I've ever had. Very large portions. The brats are fantastic. Family oriented, home style cooking. The desserts are to die for. Just watch out, they give you tons of cabbage.
Go in and get lost in the great tasting flava that Ingrid's has to offer ...
Great staff and good food
This place was amazing. The bakery had a wide selection of breads and desserts. The food menu was just what you'd expect from a good German restaurant. The meatloaf grilled sandwich was delicious.
Very nice employees pastries and cakes are awesome and reasonable
Great German food and bakery.
Good food. Good staff. My first time eating german style food. I got the wiener snitual. It was great! Going again to try something else!
Amazing dessert. Very nice employees!
I've never been to Germany but my husband's grandparents came here from Germany and he said the food at Ingrid's is pretty authentic. Either way it is delightful. Definately not a place for vegetarians, lots of meat and potatoes on the menu. They have an amazing bakery as well. The establishment is old and dimly lit making for an intimate setting, there is a bar area with full service or the main area where you order at the counter and someone brings you your food. Pricing is fair and the serving sizes do not leave you hungry.
Good food and service
Great food, but a little pricey.
Was everything we thought it would be absolutely delicious
Good service. Brunch has some good items. Order off the menu
If you are a foodie, you have to eat here. First timer and my experience was awesome. The food was to die for and the owner was extremely nice and helpful. I had no clue what to order and asked him to just order for me. Best German food I have ever tasted. I am in love with their sauerkraut and German potato salad. Will definitely eat here again and hopefully soon.
Pastries taste great. A lot of pastries from my Italian heritage here as well. The cannolis taste amazing and are made with real ricotta, which does wonders. Why I deducted some stars - the cannolis are completely hollow. A small shot of ricotta on each ends as an illusion, and 3$ to boot. The situation was handled nicely, but no telling how many people aren't aware it should filled end to end with ricotta, especially for 3$. Please fix this... :/
I absolutely love this place!!! The food is amazing! My husband and I can eat an absolute plate full of delicious food for less than $35. And the cookies and pastries are to die for!!!!
Schnitzel and spaetzel were good.
Great food and amazing breakfast buffet on the weekends
The food here is amazing! Grab a menu on your way in, order at the counter and then enjoy.
Been going there for over 40 years wonderful place to eat
Dishes are good and service is friendly, nice to get yourself a cocktail and some appetizers after work and kick back
Great German food and sandwiches. I had the Reuben, which was perfect. However, the bakery is the main attraction. An overwhelming array of goodies, from breads to cakes to cookies. And then, there are the pastries. I'm sure that I gained weight just looking at all the choices. I chose a pumpkin bar with cream cheese frosting and was in heaven. Ingrid's was packed with the lunch crowd, but the line went quickly, and the food didn't take long to reach us. No wonder Ingrids was tops in a local restaurant poll. I can't wait to go again.
I honestly don't think words can do this place justice. Just go! We started with the basic combo plate to share, with a small brat and schnitzel, with the standard sides, red cabbage, kraut, and potato salad. The brat was okay but we didn't love it. Same with the kraut and cabbage. But the potato salad and the schnitzel? Holy yum!!!!! So I ordered a schnitzel plate, and we got potato salad, but swapped the other sides for spaetzel and broccoli salad.... And OMG. Giant plate of heaven, right there. Also, the broccoli isn't a hot side. It's a cold but delicious salad. And then the cookies, y'all. Mmmmm. Try to thumbprint cookies and the marzipan, for sure.
Wasn't sure what to expect, but turned out perfectly pleased! Everything was great!
This restaurant is very nice, very well-known, and usually maxed out by returning customers (especially during Sunday lunches). Don't expect to be seated immediately. On the other hand, it is all buffet so there is no waiting for a waiter to take your order once you are seated. I wouldn't say Ingrid's isn't a particularly German restaurant. They usually have a couple of German entrees but the rest is what I would call good home style dishes. Everything is cooked and seasoned perfectly (not overly-seasoned as many other restaurants do). I got a biscuit and smothered that with a white gravy with meat bits in it. Also got some scrambled eggs cause... why not? Many other customers at this point placed two large and thick waffles and ladled on syrup and that was their plate maxed out. As for me, I crammed six other entries on my plate ‐ kind of like a sample of everything they had (well, a small sample). Of course, you could fill your plate with just three entrees and come back three times! At the fruit/salad bar they had a Greek salad with Feta cheese - nice. Another offering was a mix of strawberries, blackberries & blueberries in a luscious sauce. There were 8 other tastey items. I actually put my entree plate down at our bar stool seats and went back for a separate fruit plate. I DIDN'T partake the desserts at all (but DID sample what my wife was having). A word about parking... there isn't much. If you are going with a group. I STRONGLY advise packing everyone into one or two vehicles. There is a small dry cleaner to the east if you visit in the late evening (or Sunday) and another small building catty-corner to south-east where I noticed some diners were parking. All in all, it's a great dining experience with a fun, informal, relaxed atmosphere and really great cuisine.
Our food was delicious even though it was closing time. One item was wrong on our order but basically we got what we wanted.
Wonderful little German restaurant on 36 and Young's. Authentic German food just like my grandma used to make. The deserts oh my goodness two cases full of cakes and cookies. Breads Galore and they even have a bar next to the restaurant which we did not go into but heard the music come from. On Sundays you can go to the buffet which is delicious also. Stop by for some authentic German food
Great food, fun atmosphere!
My wife and I both enjoy the food and atmosphere.
Sunday Buffet was great!! Adam our server was awesome
I love the chicken cordon blue
Loved it!! I have never had German food taste so good before! If you'd told me I'd have taken your crout out with me, I'd have called you a liar I took some home with me!! Atmosphere is laid back, and welcoming. Order at counter, food is brought to your table. Friendly and helpful staff treat you like you're family friends!
Always great food. Very authentic.
Live music and friendly faces, food was amazing with portion sizes to match. Made for a lovely date.
Great food great service!!
Great German surprises and the deserts are out of this world.
The food here is amazing!
Little pricey but the best bakery around.
Great bratwurst and schnitzel, very good potato salad, good red cabbage and the best sauerkraut I have ever had. Really good baked good. Worth your time!
The food is incredible! Don't leave without getting some stuff from the bakery!
Love Ingrids desserts, but the meals are sometimes disappointing. Would love some real German food!
