The cakes here are delicious! My wife and I got our wedding cake here and all of our guests loved it. It has become the go to place for birthdays and other occasions in our family. The cake is always nice and moist, and the frosting is never too sweet.

I was so excited in getting my family member a birthday cake from here. Worst experience ever! I ranted and rave on how The Cakery was awesome when they use to be open....smh. I went to pick up my cake, all wrong!!! The sales associate apologized stated they messed it up and acted nonchalant like it was no big deal! It was suppose to be a double layer...single layer....have filling...no filling! They tried to give me what looked like a kids cake. How am I suppose to to feed 15 w/this. I should have saved my 40 min drive! NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!

The cake also looked gorgeous and turned out even more beautiful than we were expecting. They made it super easy for us by delivering the cake to our venue and setting it up on the cake stand. This past week I ordered a cake for my 20th anniversary. The cake they made was very beautiful. The taste of cake even exceeded its beauty, however. I ordered a two layer round, with white cake, dark chocolate truffle filling, and buttercream icing - heaven on earth! Hands down - the best bakery in Dayton. I've had cakes from all the rest, and The Cakery leaves them in the dust.

Cupcakes are delicious as always. There has only been one time they were dry . Any cakes I have ordered from here have been consistently good ! I normally don't like buttercream icing because it tends to be too sweet but the cakery's Icing is the perfect balance ! As noted in the pictures I couldn't wait to eat one

The Cakery is the only place I will get my cakes at! We travel a lot and have had some of the so called best cupcakes and cakes, but in our opinion no one can beat the taste, the price and the customer service of The Cakery! Their cupcakes are simple but moist and flavorful. Don't be fooled by their menu either, if it is a special flavor of cake you want, 9 times out of 10 they can accommodate you. It seems that there were a couple reviews on here about the rude staff and the owners, we have NEVER had that problem and we are a same-sex couple of color which unfortunately would be an easy reason to be rude to us :( The owner has always stopped to talk to us if he's out front and the rest of the staff is great, especially Angie! We usually wait for her! :D They also have designed our 2nd and 3rd year wedding anniversary cakes as well as a few birthday cakes.

Recently we used The Cakery for a gender reveal party for our upcoming child. The party was set for a sunday (The Cakery is closed on sundays) so we picked up the cake the day before on saturday. Come party time when cut into the cake we were quite disappointed to find that the entire bottom half the cake was uncooked! Due to this we had to serve the top cooked half to our guests and discard the bottom half which was just essentially raw cake batter. The following monday we called The Cakery to explain what had happened. I expected a full refund since you would assume any boutique cake shop to be absolutely ashamed of serving uncooked cake. Instead I was spoken to quite rudely by the manager and only given a partial refund for the cake. The cost of the cake broke down as follows, 34.99 for the cake itself 5.99 to dye the cake for the gender reveal The manager informed me that she would refund us the 34.99 for the cake but would not be refunding us the 5.99 for the icing dye because "we got that part right". I was completely floored. I tried explaining how ridiculous that was but the manager (Polly I believe was her name) was quite rude. Needless to say we will NOT be ever coming back here.

Everything about this establishment is 5 stars! I've used them several times for military functions on base and recommend them to anyone planning an event requiring a sheet cake especially. The "Light White with a Touch of Almond" paired with Buttercream icing is the best combination in my opinion and always gets rave reviews when served. The folks at The Cakery are a pleasure to work with and I can't recommend them enough!

I'm just going to say that over the phone everybody is super friendly. I placed my order for my daughters 3rd birthday cake. I asked for glitter so that thing could really sparkle. I get there I'm waited on right away and the girl tells me they forgot the glitter so she put it on and showed me the cake. It was beautiful! Usually we get walmart cakes for the girls birthday but never again. The prices are awesome and I picked up her cake Saturday it's now wed and I'm still eating the cake I put it in the fridge it'd so moist and the buttercream icing wasn't sickening sweet like most places! Ya'll have a loyal customer right here!

Have been getting cakes from them for years thanks to a friend's recommendation! They are, without a doubt, the BEST tasting cakes in Dayton! Their buttercream frosting is to die for and their cakes are the freshest! I've had cakes from Ele, which are very good, but they dried out too quick. Not The Cakery!! Your cake will taste fresh days after buying it.

First time there I got white cup cakes white icing great next time I ordered a white cake white icing paid 50 bucks for it got to party cut gave half out it was almond it tasted awful I was told bring it back for another one what's the point party over I should have gotten money back then I tried again last week I order one layer I asked again before I paid is this White on White oh yes NOT it fricken had almond in the car what is it about almond when you ask for White that means plain plain white

Variety with traditional and fresh and new flavors and visuals, as well, as an amazing candle. Dog treats included. Wedding cakes are the crowning glory with amazing flavors and visuals. For instance raspberry, strawberry or apricot preserves, fresh raspberries or strawberries, cherry, custard, peanut butter, rasberry, strawberry, chocolate or key lime mousse, etc. The awards are impressive. The cookies, the cupcakes, the candies, and the cakes are vibrant and varied. You will find a great dessert!

We have had good experiences with the cakery before, but when it came to my daughters graduation yesterday, that was not the case. When we arrived to get it, it did not look anything like what it was suppose to. When I asked if they could try and fix it the boy at the counter said sure I will take it to the back and see what they can do. My cake was a full sheet and suppose to look like an open book. Well what I got was a regular sheet cake. The baker then came out and said the only thing they could do was line the sides to look like pages (which was already to be done) and that would take at least 30 mins or I could have 10% off. Those were my only options. She was so incredibly rude and never apologetic when talking to me, instead trying to make it my fault. I then asked why I was told they could make my cake exactly like the picture I provided if that wasnt true, and she told me I wasnt ever told that. So after basically being called a liar, I was pretty upset. She said to make it look like a book it would have been double the price of what I paid, which was already much more than other local bakeries. I just took the cake as is because my party was only a few short hours away and I had no other choice. I was treated so poorly, andI have gotten better quality decorated cakes from local chain groceries and for half the price than I did yesterday. I will not be returning to this buisness, and I will no longer recommend it to anyone again. 100% disappointed!

I purchased a twin hearts cake for my wife and I for are 19th anniversary from the Cakery I was told they are the best in town. When I picked up my cake I couldn’t believe the top of the cake wasn’t flat two of the edges rolled downward lopsided the way a cake grandma would make when I was a little boy not a professional looking cake the top of the right heart don’t even look like a heart the icing was rough in places not smooth the way it should have been I don’t like it when people ask me to take less for my work so I don’t ask them to but I do expect to get what I paid for a very nice looking cake .i paid a high price for low quality work and the taste wasn’t that good either I have bought better looking and tasting cakes at local grocery stores.i won’t be using or recommending the Cakery anymore

I am giving them 3 stars, even though we did like the cake, because of the poor customer service I received when returning their equipment. I have worked in customer service all my life and know that things do happen but you need to care about that when you are working with the public. Especially when the customer is only making you aware of it and not expecting anything in return. We used The Cakery for our wedding cake and I will say that they exceeded our expectations! The cake was BEAUTIFUL! We have ordered other cakes from them before so we knew the cake itself was very good. The staff was great during the cake testing and they treated us very kindly. I will say that they do have great tasting cake. As much as I recommend this place, there is just one bad experience I had and it did surprise me since we were given such great treatment. The cake was delivered and set up but some of the floral decorations fell off the cake shortly after being delivered. When I brought back their equipment, I let the staff member know that everything was great and I appreciate all their hard work. I also let her know what happened to the cake and for some reason, she acted like this wasn't really a big deal and she would let someone know. She did not apologize for the mishap. We did spend a great deal of money on this cake and although I was not asking for anything back, an apology or any kind of concern would have been appreciated. After reading other reviews, it looks like this isn't the first time someone has acted this way. I understand that things happen, BUT they should be concerned when their product is defective. I will still recommend this place but will warn people to be aware of my experience.

WORTH THE READ! I met a woman with the Cakery in early February 2015 to plan for my September 12, 2016 wedding. We discussed in detail the way in which I'd like my dream wedding cake to look. I imagined cute pink ruffles on a three tiered square design. Each square tier was to be offset from the tier beneath. A sketch was drawn up to generally reflect what we had discussed. I was specific in the design of ruffles so to be thin and short, and the colors to start as a pink ombré turning to white as it rose and ended grey on the top tier. (Even providing a colored photo to represent the most important details). Everything sounded perfect. I was reassured it was within the capabilities of the cake design team, and after reviewing books upon books of photos of elegant works of art, I felt more than comfortable with our decision to chose The Cakery. That is until my wedding day came. My mother arrives to The Cakery to pick up the cake, only to find a disaster. She quickly sent over a photo for me to review. My heart nearly stops. The ruffles were not as we spoke, overlapping and sagging. The squared tiers were no where near properly offset. And then... The top tier was......... GREEEEEEEN!!!!! Dark. Forrest. GREEN. Instantly tears come down my face. I instantly call The Cakery to only be told there is no way to reach the color grey I had requested, however no one in the 7 months had that been mentioned to me. After many unkind words were shared in anger I request the top tier be corrected. An hour late I receive another photo and the tier was still GREEN! After being told there was nothing else they could do to correct the issue (keep in mind my wedding colors were pewter grey, begonia pink, white and black). I was distraught that somehow I had to accept that my cake was now going to be pink and GREEN. Finally I demand that they again scrape the green icing off, and replace it with white. Now with green spots, awful, lousy, rushed ruffles I had paid nearly $400 dollars for junk. I did not appreciate the screw up, nor how the mistake was handled by the associates. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY AGAIN and I will do my best to make sure no one else does, without knowing the story behind the lies.

Ordered a Round Halloween Themed Birthday cake for my daughter. It was fantastic, right down to the little details. They used flowers but dark themed with eyes in the center of some and the hint of spider fur coming out of the other flowers. There was "blood" (raspberry) dripping down the sides and what really stood out was they off centered the cake to add "bloody" hand prints on the card board. I wish there was a way to share a picture. My daughter loved the cake.
