So, not only was my order sorta last-minute, is was also sorta submitted via email, late at night. Actually the email was an inquiry, delivered after 9pm, and responded to within 30 minutes by a real person. Sheri graciously concluded gathering the information, then assured me the cake would be ready when we needed it. And, it was. Husband just picked it up and not only did they handle the late order beautifully, the cake is also quite beautiful. Thank you all so much!

I grew up going to Mrs. Goodman's so it was really special to have them make the cake for our wedding. After going through the cake tasting, we decided we wanted to keep things simple and have a chocolate cake with raspberry filling and a chocolate cake with strawberry filling. Oh my word, everyone ate it up--pun intended! The cake was gorgeous and Michele worked with us on the design and sheet cakes. Everyone raved about the cake and many people admitted they ate two pieces! Highly recommend Mrs. Goodman's! We can't wait to return back when we're in town!

I requested an order for a particular cake late in the day and Sherri immediately responded to my email. She was very helpful in regards to the design that I was looking for on the cake. She didn’t even request partial payment up front! Then, when I told her I wanted to pick the cake up on a Sunday (their only day off as a family-owned bakery), she was more than willing to make that happen. THAT is how you know they care about their customers! Every staff member I interacted with was more than helpful — Sherri, Tracy, Floyd, and Betsy! I’m sure everyone else there is nice as well! :)

Stopped in this morning for some cookies. Took some time to talk with the new owners. Took over in the last 4 months I believe. They have definitely cleaned the front of the business up. New cabinets and display cases. Just a general cleaning of the front of the house. Way more inviting area now. Cookies, scones, cupcakes, pies, cakes and pastries. There is a great selection. Everything is super delicious.

Called to order a custom cake. The girl who answered kept deviating from the questions i was asking and wouldn't answer if they could do it or not she kept telling me well that will cost you a lot. She could tell from my accent i am not american and was probably profiling me and thinking i cant afford it. i was soo mad i just hang up on her. in my opinion i will never want to do business or go to a place where they are racist and based on how i sound will not help me

The best cake shop/bake shop in Columbus! Everything is fresh and delicious, the cakes are moist, the icings are rich without being too sweet, and the other treats (cookies, scones, breads) are always on target. (If you like coffee, the cappuccino icing on cake is the absolute best!) Everyone is always friendly and helpful. This is always our number one destination for family birthdays. A must try!

My parents were having their 50th wedding anniversary and a friend suggested I go to Mrs Goodman's. My family said it was the most delicious cake they had ever tasted, vanilla with raspberry filling. Beautifully decorated with the fall leaves (it was in October). When I need a cakes for special occasions...

Well, my experience was not what you would consider a "good" man. I had ordered a marble birthday cake with different color decorations years ago. Well, the cake tasted OK. Not the best cake I ever had. I recommend other places! However, my point is they decorated my birthday cake the way THEY WANTED. The cake had incorrect colors and designs. I asked to speak with a manager to resolve the issue and I was told "no, we do not have time." Not sure if at the time the workers were lazy or if the situation was race related? Based on all of the positive reviews this bakery receives, looks like you guys do not mind decorating Caucasian cakes correctly!??

UPDATE, 6/10/2019: visited to purchase a pie for my husband, first time in since new management installed, and now, the interior is as scrumptious as the cakes! Adorable pastels and charming accent decorations accessorize a CLEAN and TIDY store front. So much more appealing! The full 5 stars! THE BEST BUTTERCREAM FROSTING in the history of the confection! The raspberry filling is delicious - not fake/pie-filling/goo, but _real_ macerated fruit (the lemon curd ain't bad either, with more sourness than sweetness [which is what I want from a lemon flavor]). The cake itself is sweet without being cloying, and dense but not heavy (I know, sounds contradictory, but trust me, it's just tasty!). Mrs. Goodman's cakes _cannot_ be beat, but if anyone wants to challenge me on that, let's head to the bakery! :) I've not given the bakery the full 5-star review because upon my last visit, the interior of the shop is (still) terribly uninviting, with outdated decor, low light, and an overall sense of slight grime. But hear me, people! - BEST CAKES IN THE LAND!

It is easy to make a cake that tastes good. The place where most people fail (from a taste perspective) is the frosting. I often skip the cake at a wedding because they are just not worth the calories. I usually bake my own cakes, but, when I am too busy, or if the cake is too much for my home kitchen, I fall back to Mrs. Goodman's since it is a cake worth eating on all accounts. I have used Mrs. Goodman's numerous times for many years and I have always been very happy with the results. I have purchased cakes, cookies, and cupcakes. I needed Christmas cookies for work, so I put in an order for a few dozen; yummy.
