MCL may not be the most inexpensive place, but the food is simply delicious. I love the cafeteria-style setting. Its quiet, clean and provides a great experience.

This was the best restaurant ever it's so good even though you have to pay for the stuff individually I absolutely love your food if you go there get the Strawberry Shortcake it's so delicious all the food there is very good it was not that bad maybe like a few more sense by speaking incense I'm saying 30 to 90 cents more expensive than your other places it was very delicious though when I went I went with a large group they sent me down the waiters and the hose was very nice and the cooks were also very friendly the Kooks were telling me jokes I had a very enjoyable time with my friends and family I wouldn't recommend going up a larger group.

This is great food because the seniors know where the home cooking is. I was happy to see it very crowded today day before Monday of Christmas. I am always worried it will go out of business because sometimes it's very slow . They are very particular about being clean the service is excellent and the cafeteria style line moves fast. The food is always perfectly prepared. If you want a great meal and Home Cookin this is probably one of the best places in Columbus. Also great for large families.

The bright spot of this dining experience was hostesses' pleasant personalities and clean restrooms. The food was mostly terrible and overpriced for such low quality. Steamed broccoli was hard as a rock, entrees were dry and tasteless ( liver and salmon patty are examples). No wonder there was plenty of room to seat a large group! Gave them another chance; it's a place to avoid.

Nice place to eat but very pricy and all the staff are not the most polite employees their mangers don't give their employees the job of serving the guest and I don't think its fair for management to be making the servers tips this made no since to me and you end up paying more money because most of the food to make a meal or dinner is all sold separately, for two people you end up spending $40 dollars if not more it's a place that most older people frequent I'm just not paying out this type of money for just a regular plate of food from a little casual restaurant. And they serve a lot of pork and this is a food that is truly not good for anyone mainly the elderly I study health and foods so I know they should get rid of pork for better health.

Everything always taste very good and seasoned just right. I love the variety, although can be a little pricey. But well worth it to pay for a homecook meal, than fast food. Mayfield value plate is always a deal. Waitress is always attentive. I only wished they gave Veterans a discount.

They have really stepped it up since the last time I had been there (probably 4 or more years ago). The food had flavor and was hot and tasted great. They also had so many options. The staff was really helpful.

I enjoy their Blue Plate Special: Fried Chicken Dinner (white or dark) with 2 sides and bread. I like the fact that I can get access to vegetables. The few meals I have had have been good and filling. I passed on Dessert.

Haven't been here for a long time. Needed vegetables and didn't feel like cooking them. I think that MCL has gotten too expensive. Everything is a la carte. 3 veggies, a salmon patty, a salad and tea cost me almost $19.00. Don't see how old folks on a fixed income can eat here. Food is good though.

Outstanding food. We just flew in at the airport and needed to stop for something to eat before heading back home. Stopped here just by chance, but we are glad we did. Next time we're back in Columbus, this place is on the itinerary! I highly recommend it.

Don't avoid about this place because you think it's for old people. You may be missing out. You can actually get a good meal here. The specials are a "good buy". Be careful costs can add up when ordering a la carte. The best reason to come here is for the desserts made in the on site bakery. During holidays there is a line around the place for people who have ordered pies, etc. To take home. Tip: coconut cream is very good.

MCL has a cafeteria line but is not cafeteria food. Handicap & Senior friendly with plenty of handicap & regular parking. There is a daily menu sheet available as you come in. Whether you call for takeout, which has its own entrance, or eat in you will find a wide assortment of entrees & side items with generous portions . Salads, fruit & jello dishes, various beef, chicken, fish & ham entrees, various vegetable sides & sometimes Mac & cheese. Popular beverages, cakes, pies, cookies, egg custard & other desserts. Save money with the daily specials or the Mayfield plate. They have Children's menu. Table servers will help get you get settled & see you have what you need including water or refills. Ask about the Senior discount which is available certain hours of the day.

Can"t understand why the roast beef is always bloody red. It looks raw to me. I prefer my meat/ beef cooked, Why can't this be done here at MCL? Putting the beef in the hot juice just doesn't help at all. It doesn't taste like beef after being put in juice & come out all curled up. Totally ridiculous

I was pleasantly surprised! I hadn't been to MCL since 1992 lol so I was expecting the bland, flavorless picks from the past. NOT EVEN! Everything on my plate was tasty! I had fish, mashed potatoes and gravy, salad, cole slaw and coconut cream pie. Yum!

Awful experience! Was told by manager I could have another entree to substitute the daily. Was over charged when I got to the end of the line. Cashier was very nice but of course could not change. Spoke with manager who had instant amnesia of our 2 minute prior conversation. Did refund money stating "maybe" he said that cause he had been calling the "girls" by their wrong name all day also (with a chuckle) didn't find the humor or similarity. To top it off, only the wheat roll and potatoes were good. Liver and Mac I threw away after a few bites.

Hadn't been to an MCL in ten years. They still have very good food and their bakery products are wonderful. My plate was delicious. Only complaint was that my husbands meat was a little dry, but it was almost 1:30 pm when we got there so that probably was why.
