Went to the bakery/store and the only kolachi available was lemon. It didn't taste very fresh..and no wonder, it seems like the "bakery" is nothing more than a manufacturing facility for their online business. Don't repeat my mistake and drive 45 min for the opportunity to buy frozen kolachi. Maybe their thawed baked goods are tasty and are as good as grandma used to send by UPS.

i got a cookie and there was too many chocolate chips and it was too sugary and it was uncooked this happened a while ago, so i don’t know how they’ve improved, but i just remember it being around 5 dollars for this raw cookie, very disappointed, because i used to look there when i was a kid, and now i realize how ridiculous the place is.

My favorite bakery in the Youngstown, Ohio area! Their cookies and other sweet treats are to die for, the staff is very friendly, and they are always willing to go the extra mile to make the experience great for their customers. The owner is on site a lot of the time, so you know the quality is consistent and top quality! Would highly recommend while visiting or if you’re living in the area and need a tasty treat! I only wish they would bring back the glazed cookies, they were my favorite!

This is a beautiful bakery and the staff is VERY POLITE if I was reviewing it on those aspects alone it would have gotten 5 stars! But it is a bakery that claims to serve authentic kolache. And what they serve at a very high price even on sale is not authentic kolache! I am 51 years old and my grandmother of Polish and German decent died in her mid-80s when I was in my early teenage years. She made real kolache. Butter Maid's kolache is basically a white bread dough kolache - THIS IS NOT KOLACHE! I have worked 35 or so years at perfecting my authentic kolache recipe Butter Maid's is not close enough to go by the same or even a similar name - they have totally ignored that fact that the dough has a very pleasing very unique flavor unlike white bread dough. Perhaps if you are interested in less ethnic delicacies they might be fine.

If you love Kolachi...this is your place. I've tried several different varieties now, and each one is outstanding. I especially like the flavors you don't see everyday...pumpkin, chocolate walnut, and apple cinnamon. All the Kolachi has been moist as can be. And they don't skimp on the filling! I've always received fast friendly service here, and I recommend this place highly for Kolachi, delicious cookies (esp salted caramel), and wedding cookies!

I received a Kolachi from my step mother . You made it and I can't tell you how good it is. I have been baking for over fifty years and I have never had nut rolls this good. Unbelievably good. ( I don' know if you are the same owners that lived down the street from me on East Parkside. ??? )

Excellent walnut potica! that would give my grandfather god rest his soul a run for his recipe. Ordered 8 individual orders shipped all up and down the East Coast two weeks before Christmas and everything arrived on time. One was even shipped down to Florida sat in the box for a week and was unpacked and was perfect. Everyone we shipped to loved what they received. Don’t let the one star review fool you, get a job one star guy! Thank you Butter Made Bakery for making our Christmas memorable can’t wait till next year. Edit: Ordered more in February that came in 2 days even to Florida. Very delicious nut roll!

Delicious Kolachi pastries. I have made them myself in the past, but they are a ton of work and expense; these are a great solution to all that work! If you enjoy Croatian Povitica, then you will enjoy the Kolachi. I have ordered at least six times and each loaf was perfect and enjoyed by all recipients. Nothing better than a slice in the morning with a cup of hot coffee. They also offer a donation option for sending cookies to our troops. The donation amounts start at a dollar and increase from that point, so it is an affordable way to support our troops. I am in California and the fast shipping means that everything arrives bakery fresh. I have even tried freezing a few loafs to see how well the freeze, and they thawed well and we're just as good. I always order extra so I can take advantage of free shipping. This us a very nice, family owned company with which to do business.

Oh my gosh! Got my order today and already broke into my poppyseed kolachi. YUMMY! Poppyseed is so hard to find in the grocery stores. Yours is delicious! So moist and full of filling. So worth the money spent. Packaging was well done as well. I will be buying again!!!

I know this is going to sound crazy but this place makes the best kolache.. anywhere.. in the world. I have mine shipped to our home in Seattle but I also send it as Holiday gifts to Florida and family still in Ohio. While their seasonal flavors are great, the top of the line best flavor is the traditional walnut kolache. While not cheap, you get what you pay for and this is simply the BEST.

I was really disappointed in the two rolls that I ordered for my son. We tasted of the poppy seed one and it was bland so I imagine the rest of it and the chocolate one will not be eaten. 45 dollars worth, wasted

Butter Maid's kolachi is spot on to the kolachi made by my grandmother in Latrobe, PA. It arrives securely packaged, vacuum sealed, fresh and ready to eat. I just place my second order. Butter Maid is the real deal!

I was told by many friends on social media that this was a very reputable company. I'm sorry to say I do not agree. On their website they claimed to be a very military friendly company. We are a military family and do not feel supported by this company. I ordered over $60 worth of product that came damaged from UPS. I was dealing with customer service and I thought everything was set up that they were going to send me all new product. The next day I received a return label and I put all of the 3 damaged products in the damaged package and returned it to them. The next day I received a package from them with only one of the items ordered when they said they were going to send me all 3. I asked for the other ones to be expedited to be delivered before Christmas since that is what I ordered them for and they refused. I asked for a full refund and they refused that as well. They do not package their product very well and it can easily be damaged and when you try to get them to resolve the issues they refuse. I will no longer do business with this company and I suggest buyer beware before doing business with this company. I have ordered similar products from other companies who package their bakery products in a much better fashion. Be careful before you buy.

Ordered nut kulachi, apricot kolacky cookies, and cloths pin cookies for Easter, everything was delicious! The order was shipped to Virginia, arrived in three days, and not a single cookie was broken. I am glad we were able to share a little part of our heritage with our grandchildren, and they loved all of it.

These nut rolls are so freaking good!! Ordered 2 of the original nut rolls last year for the holidays and my family devoured them! Just received 2 more in the mail today, put them right in the freezer to hopefully keep myself from eating them before Thanksgiving ha ha

My sister sent me the walnut kolache roll, omg it is awesome! My mother and grandmother use to make them every Easter and this brought back memories , I could eat it every day. I highly recommend.
