Kind of cool place...Worth checking out
The food was an absolute delight! Fresh ingredients, tasty ones at that.
Good food and drinks, but prices are extremely unrealistic. $10 for mixed drinks in Wooster is pretty steep.
I love their pizza and bread. One of the best restaurants in Wooster hands down
Excellent food, great atmosphere
Had shared sandwich with my wife. It was big enough for both of us. Came with a generous serving of potato salad. Lemonade is fresh squeezed and very good.
This place is actually a 2.5 (I'm being kind to support a local business). This place could easily be a 4.5 ****if the service weren't so slow!!**** Honestly, you could go to the bank next-door, apply for a loan, wait for the result and still have to wait for your bread to arrive. Last time I was here, part of my party had to leave before their orders arrived because they had to get back to work. The food is just so slow! I can't stress this point enough. Do not go here unless you have more than 2 hours to spend.
For a very special dining experience in Wooster, I highly recommend Broken Rocks! This is my favorite restaurant in town. Everything I've ordered has been delicious and the atmosphere is great. I like the option concept kitchen where you can see chefs making breads, etc. I always recommend Broken Rocks to friends visiting Wooster for the first time.
An attractive setting with lots of brick and wood. The food is prepared well and brings some unique flavors to the area. The wait staff has been spot on every time. Nice thing is they take reservations and that helps for business lunches. They will continue to get my business.
Yummy cocktails, accept reservations, amazing mushroom pasta.
We love Broken Rocks. The food is delicious, there are healthy options and we always have great service.
Good food, fair prices, good service, nice ambiance.
Inviting atmosphere. Soft big band music playing in the background. Served sliced bread with spiced olive oil. This bread was stale, like really bad. The waitress brought out more but was the same. The wife and I ordered a corn chowder to share. Wasn’t very chowder like, more like potato soup with corn. I ordered a burger, wasn’t bad, but not great. Overall just average lunch experience. Probably won’t be back.
Best food in Wootown, everything is fresh, and fast and the owners are great. This place is a gem and we will definatly be coming back.
What a lovely place for lunch. Great beer list, featuring local brew. Fish sandwich was delicious, lightly breaded with lemon-caper aioli.
The food was really good and the wait staff was quick and kind! food came out shortly after we ordered. The environment was laid back, perfect for a business meeting.
Excellent place for a date nigh in a happening down town.
Something for everyone. The go to place in Wooster. Old building with lots of character. Pastas, pizza, brisket. Soups, hummus, cheese plate. House made bread. Don't miss the spicy shrimp over fried polenta cakes with red pepper aioli.
I went there for a friends birthday and ordered a burger and fries and it took them over an hour to make it and get it to me. When I ordered my food they weren't busy But it still took them over an hour to cook a burger. I will never go back there again. What a joke of a place.
Tanzan was amazing!
It was a good atmosphere and food, but a little wait time for a Friday, and the food wasn't stunning. It had some good options though and the service was excellent. Really overall I would go again, lunch I hear is the best meal there.
Was definitely not a fan. The food was mediocre and over priced. Also, the entirety of the staff decided it was their lunch time and proceeded to eat lunch at a table in front of us patrons. As you can imagine, service crawled at that point. Since when has it been a thing to eat in front of guests? Especially the entire staff?
Love everything about this place! Atmosphere is great, food is unique and delicious, service is top notch!
Great food and clean.
friendly people & d.e.l.i.c.i.o.u.s pasta. i would definitely return to this place;)
I had a great time a Broken Rocks, the wait staff was friendly and the food was great. We didn't have to wait long at all.
Very cute little restaurant. They also own a very trendy little bar that is attached next door. They have great menu choices when it comes to food and also have a full bar. The food is very good and they have a different selection of choices than you would find at other restaurants. They also do weddings in a room in the back!
Love the chicken salad. And a nice restaurant but I don't know how they don't give a discount at least for not getting the bread for the sandwich. I can't eat bread..
Good lunch spot. My party started with the best salad. Entrees- veggie burger, portobello burger and pastrami sandwich.
Couldn't recommend this place more. Atmosphere, food, drinks, and service were all the greatest
Nice spot for lunch and dinner. Great menu selection, some craft beers. Their house bread is for sale, try not to leave without a loaf!
Good food. High priced for small portions. Good service .
A classy place with many outstanding specialties. The home made breads are beyond delicious. We marked this place as a favorite, and we will be back. Normally we don't give five stars, but this place earned them.
Great place - great waitress
I loved everything about this place. The service and food were both amazing. Our waitress was very quick and attentive. I will definitely be back!!
Been here many times, never disappointed. Consistently great food and great service!
Really unique, especially if you get the pleasure of going downstairs for a private party. Waitresses and waiters we're quick and professional. Food options were splendid and each item I tried was delicious. Ordered to go in the past and, even eating the food 20 minutes later, was very impressed.... Definitely a stop to make and a place to try if you haven't already!
Wonderful atmosphere, awesome service, phenomenal food. Broken Rocks is a must add to your list. Believe me, you will not be disappointed!
A very nice, cozy, dining experience. My wife and I love the atmosphere. They have wonderful bread. You will like this. Unless your name is Matt and you like to make fun of people. Then it will suck. This cafe won’t suck, but your life will suck around this restaurant.
My favorite restaurant in Wooster. Has a nice atmosphere, service is fast, and food is excellent. I love their Jumbalaya, pasta, appetizers, and desserts were consistently excellent every time I visited. Their Rox Gastropub is also a nice casual addition. Loved the pork noodle bowl and pizzas there.
The staff is average, the food was good but not great. The restaurant was clean and simple. All in all it was average. Nothing stands out good or bad.
This is a go to dinner for me. Nice prices with wonderful food and relaxing atmosphere.
Great service, (Raquel) food was awesome! Thank you.
Great place with fresh, homemade food with vegetarian options. Everything was quite bland though
Great service, love the food!
Trendy bistro, good menu (albeit conventional), excellent service. Good way to spend an hour for lunch.
Atmosphere and music enjoyable. Food was excellent. Price very reasonable. We plan to go back.
Great service. Enjoyed the jambalaya, nicely spicey. The dessert, a chocolate flourless torte was horrible; it was salty!
Good food , great service.
Without a doubt, my favorite restaurant... food is fabulous, staff goes out of their way to make you content. Lovely atmosphere.... TOP NOTCH!
Fish sandwich is awesome. Also southwestern salad was very good.
Once you eat here you can really tell how fresh their food is. Their cinnamon rolls are AMAZING.
My favorite place to eat in Wooster. The prices are right and the staff if always friendly. The pizzas and Tuna salad are my favorites. The bread is also wonderful and the cookies. I always eat here when visiting Wooster.
Staff is great, cooks are great..mmmm their bread is great. The food is WONDERFUL, you hardly ever have to wait, the waiters/waitresses/other are kind, and respectful to you. Everything here is great and wonderful! Recommended!
Great little spot in Wooster. Have eaten here several times and always a pleasure. The food is fresh, fast and great food. The service is always great and they have great gluten free options for dinner and dessert.
Great food with some awesome bread. Excellent desserts. Definitely going back.
Great food and service.
Always a great meal here, good service, love sitting by the windows. Can be very loud in the back by kitchen FYI!
Excellent food and service.
Nice casual restaurant. Great menu and bar.
This is a great place in Wooster with yeasty bread and yummy food (Molasses Glazed Brisket with Polenta Corn Cakes is a personal favorite). The service can be hit or miss and the food is usually good but my sister and I have had experiences with certain items being under cooked in the past. I generally take folks when they visit as it is a beautiful space and the food is good.
What a fantastic restaurant!! And it's in Wooster, Ohio?! Food is spectacular - had the tequila chicken pasta, blue burger, tiramisu and deconstructed ice cream sandwich. YUMMY!!! The friendly service from the host through the chef welcomed us and made us want to return soon.
AWESOME every time!@
Had dinner there and had the Chicken Marsala. It was disappointing. Very watery. My husband had the speciality pizza and the dough had a very odd taste. My daughter had the veggie Burger and it was extremely mushy. We had dinner there a year ago and the quality was great. Maybe an off night?
Great meal as always! Sausage pizza and beet salad is great.
The food was very good. My sister and i each ordered a salad and split an pasta dish and it was more than enough for lunch. The service was attentive enough without interupting us as we were meeting for a much needed catching up session.
In Wooster on business and decided to give this local eatery a try. The only complaint I have is that there isn’t one of these in every town across America. Awesome !!!!!!!!
Very good. Full bar fresh food. Our 2nd visit made it a point to to return.
First time at Broken Rocks. Tried it based on Google Reviews! Holla Holla! Service was exceptional. We had one of their pizzas, BLT, Chicken Tequila Coconut Pasta, Peach Salad and White Cake. Overall Food was great. Pizza was the best! Very Tasty. BLT was only ok, too much mayo was on it (a lot - easily two TBSP - had to scrape off alot) and I usually like my bacon alittle bit more crispy - I'd order again but would make sure to specify maybe Mayo on side and bacon crispy. I tried the Chicken & Peach Salad because they have seasonal dishes and try to use local ingredients. The Coconut/Tequila/Lime/Curry mix sounded interesting so I said why not. Not my favorite but I did eat it all so it was tasty. Doubt I'd order again. Peach/Spinach/Goat cheese salad was great. We had the white cake based on waitress recommendation.....It's more of a cross between white/yellow....but definitely not "white" as I think of it. It's more like tiramisu cake with a pudding/custard layered between. I thought it was great. My wife not so much but I think mainly because her expectation was a "white cake" like a wedding cake. There are not a lot of "non-chain" restaurant choices where we live and Wooster is fairly close. This is a great option and would return again for sure.
Just stopped in for a late night drink with some friends. The food is great. And the atmosphere is very welcoming
I’m fortunate enough to have dined here twice now. Had mussels and fettuccine on my second trip and just as I expected it was exquisite!!!!!! This place alone is reason enough to vacation in Wooster!!!
Tasty pasta. They also have a variety of beef selections, which I bet are delicious, but it doesn't seem to me to be the focus. There is in nice bar attached.
Great space and quality of food here. Definitely the go to Wooster destination for any foodie. The Rocks addition, the attached bar, provides a great quality with a simplified pub style menu. Definitely a worty spot checking out. I love their bread and butter that comes to the table, the delicious oven fried pizzas, and their pub salad.
Best fish sandwich I have ever had!
Great food - recommended by our hotel and we were not disappointed. Local cider and beer on tap and amazing food.
Good food and nice atmosphere. Makes great
Really great atmosphere and waiter, had an excellent wild mushroom and pasta meal. Tried the latte, even though it's not really a coffee place. I wasn't expecting much if I'm honest, but it was absolutely great. They didn't even give flavor options on the menu, but I asked if they could squirt a little caramel in for me. The guys like yeah sure why not? I'm not really sure if he tried latte art or not, if he did the results were horrendous. But hey it was good!
Service was outstanding and the meals almost as great. We arrived later in the evening but had a great experience!! We will be back often.
Delicious food, great service!
A reason to visit Wooster. Absolutely incredible! Reasonable prices and amazing flavors. The salad, soup, bread, and pasta dishes we had were superb. Raquel’s our server was so sweet and service was great.
Amazing food. Period. Well worth the hour drive here. Highly recommend!
Excellent place for a group visit! We had a total of 25 and everyone loved their lunch. The service from Paige and her staff was exceptional!
We used a party room at the Broken Rocks and had a great first-time experience. The service was good, prompt enough but allowing us I unrushed time for our family event. The food was good and varied enough for different preferences.
This place is popular - LOTS of good options in town - try them!
Very nice place. Good drinks!
We are in town from California and were looking for a good dinner after traveling for over a day. The food here was delicious and the service was amazing. Highly recommend.
I went there last night. I'd called ahead at noon for a 6:30 reservation. I got there about 6:25 and they had no record of my reservation. You see it's easy to take the reservation but they can't keep the reservation. We got seated about 7pm. The service was slow, the food was good. I eat here often so I'll cut them some slack.
Both pasta dishes were great. So 4 star on food. Service is slow from the male waiter we had. And they aren't even busy
Always a favorite place to enjoy a drink and yummy meal while in Wooster. Get the Belgian Chocolate Custard to top off your meal. SO good.
Great food and service Dont forget to get some bread
We really enjoyed the pasta, salad, and desserts! The service was excellent as well!
Attended a private party in the back room and it was excellent from start to finish. First there was the dense, doughy bread and dipping oil that I could not stop eating, along with the hummus platter with veggies and bread. I ordered a fish sandwich with JoJo potatoes (spicy potato wedges) for my entree, on the advice of the server that it was the favorite sandwich on the menu. It consisted of a seasoned, lightly breaded, pan friend flaky white fish (no fishy taste at all) with sauce on a ciabatta roll. It was very good and a large quantity. I would definitely order it again, though the salads and individual pizzas also looked great. While I passed on dessert, due to being too full and too tired, the selections certainly looked delicious. We had a large party, so the room was a bit crowded, but the restaurant generally has an open, casual feel.
First time going here. I think the restaurant is good, but I think our server forgot about us after serving us drinks, and didn't come back to get our orders.
Lobster risotto over priced! Filet with lobster great..but the lobster on top..flavorless!
Outstanding food, atmosphere, service. Located in the heart of Wooster, there are nice shops all around this restaurant. I enjoy repurposed buildings in which their original charm is maintained.
Absolutely Love this restaurant ❣ The creamy garlic shrimp and scallops pasta is my favorite❣ The wait staff is exceptional as well
Great service, great food, will definitely be coming back!
An unexpected delight! Perfect pairings on the cheese plate combined carefully curated seasonal selections with incredible house made bread. A perfect way to end a spectacular autumn day in Amish country!
This is my wife's favorite restaurant in Wooster. The service is professional and the atmosphere and food are a delight. Broken Rocks is always top notch.
A great get a way place where you are transported to a big city.
Wonderful food, drinks and atmosphere
Highly recommended by the locals. When we walked in we felt a little underdressed since the employee were dressed up. But all the customers we casually dressed. Not only were our meals amazing so was the service. Average price for a meal was around 14 dollars but worth it.
Great food. I particularly like the wild mushroom pizza, the Louisiana shrimp, and the chicken salad sandwich. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. The house bread with herb oil is not to be missed.
All of the positive reviews are no joke. This restaurant would fit easily in some of the finest cities in the country- amazing atmosphere and great food. Had the cajun chicken pasta and loved every bite. Cannot wait to come back.
Fantastic food and service.
One of the best restaurants in Wooster. Excellent food and service.
Really cool place. I like the Cafe, then the bar area on the other side. Burger was excellent. Service spot on. We just missed breakfast and asked the server if we could still get a breakfast menu, no problem. That’s what you expect from a place that you’re paying. Bloody Mary excellent as well!
Espresso is wonderful. Absolute most divine cinnamon roll I have ever had. Service is great. Highly recommend
Very pleasant. Foo is good, but fancier than I prefer. But everyone enjoyed their meal.
Never got to eat there as was long wait , was told to make reservations on Fridays and Saturdays nights
Phenomenal & decadent menu items. The value in what you receive is worth any expense. Awesome place!
We engaged this restaurant for a 50 person wedding rehearsal dinner and they more than exceeded my expectations. Broken Rocks was very helpful throughout the planning process but really shined at the actual event. The food was excellent and the waitstaff put it over the top with their cheerful attitude through a 2+ hour noisy dinner. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Great place. Nice atmosphere staff was polite and friendly Food service was, quick, hot, appealing and devious. Stan had the pepperoni pizza I had the shrimp atachoke pasta. Amazing flavors. Had the tomato soup came out steaming hot, just the way I like soup. Would highly recommend this restaurant and their attached bar. Very cool and trendy. I do not know who does the hiring but every person there had the best atgitude and were very polite, happy and attentive. Will definitely be back.
One of the best pizzas I have ever had. Super food and atmosphere. The gastropub is amazing!
Excellent food!
This is a great place for a group given the variety on the menu. So much to choose and everything is good. I love the grouper sandwich, and the gumbo is a family favorite.
Excellent food and friendly wait staff who are very helpful when selecting drinks and a meal. The tables are tight so don't hold a private conversation
The acoustics of this place is horrible. There, that's the bad part. Everything else is exceptional. Great food, great staff, wonderful ambience. The house-made sour dough bread is out of this world. You'll be served a complimentary sample of that, along with oil dip, when you are seated. If you are new to Wooster, this is a must.
Absolutely wonderful. The service was excellent. The food is wonderful and tastes awesome. A must try!!!
Delicious, delicious, delicious!! Yummers, delightful, amazing... So many words that can be used!! The food was fresh, fast, and flaming hot!!
Very good and reasonable prices
A very modern and hipster place to eat. Interesting dishes to try and you can find something you like on the menu
Great food. Too noisy.
Second time we have been here while travelling through Wooster, and the second time we have had delicious food in a cool environment, and the second time we have had indifferent service. Seems like I keep getting a server who is ready to go home and I am keeping them from that.
Great food and atmosphere. Another great place in Wooster
Good food & good atmosphere.
Excellent food with great service.
We went here & had dessert only. It was good but expensive. For 6 of us it was $50. That's 10$ shy of what it costs us to eat a full meal when we go out to dinner. Everything we had was good except the tiramisu was a bit soggy. Other than that & the price I have no complaints.
My husband liked the pasta with shrimp and scallops. He said it reminded him of a New Orleans meal. And I had the special spicy shrimp. Yum!!
Great staff and consistent high quality, attractive tasty meals.
Comfortable atmosphere. Great Service. The Food is wonderful. Def a Return.
Ten out of ten, everything is made with love and skill. Tis a shame Michelin doesn't truck with Ohio.
Love Broken Rocks! Good food, good service, good atmosphere!
Excellent food and Great atmosphere and service.
They did a lovely thing with an old building, and their menu is excellent! The waiter was friendly, helpful and attentive!
Good food, friendly service & intimate atmosphere
I have never been disappoint here. Great place to just pop in have a beer and a sandwich. Or come and have a fancy dinner. Staff are very helpful and the bread is wonderful I always leave w my own loaf.
I've been eating at Broken Rocks since they moved to Wooster from Loudonville. Food and service always exceptional.
This place has great fresh food, wonderful bread. I love it. A bit on the noisy side if it's crowded.
Interesting place an menu server was on the spot
Really enjoyed a late lunch at Broken Rocks cafe today. Had the chicken salad sandwich, wonderful.
This might be my favorite restaurant of all time, everything made in-house, they are doing food right!
Broken Rock Cafe you’ve left a lasting impression on me! Fantastic meal and phenomenal service. I can’t wait until my next.
Wonderful cafe with excellent choices for food. I had an amazing drink, and shared that with a wonderful tasting pizza. The waiter was very friendly and helpful, making sure to get everything that I needed to enjoy my meal. The location is very comfortable and relaxing. This seems like it would be a wonderful place to share lunch during the daytime. I would highly recommend this location to anyone that loves good food and a great atmosphere!
It's ok. Not worth the hype. Over-rated and overpriced. The caprese salad was a complete joke. It was advertised on the menu as a salad using locally grown tomatoes, a top a bed of spring greens with mozzarella slices drizzled with balsamic vinegar. What came was a 9 dollar tiny salad that supposedly had "local grown tomatoes" yet came with 4 measly slices that looked and tasted like a plain store bought tomato on a bed of about 10 little leafy greens topped with 4, 1x2 inch squares of super thinly sliced/shaved mozzarella. I guess my expectations were set too high. After reading the fabulous description on the menu I was expecting something far more exceptional. Perhaps a caprese salad with large colorful heirloom tomatoes, fresh artisan greens, and thick wedges or rounds of mozzarella. Instead I got what looked like a child's attempt at creating their first caprese salad. Actually to be honest, I think a child could've created a more enjoyable robust looking salad. I almost laughed out loud when the server brought me it. I think I was finished in about two bites. Definitely NOT worth the hype or money.
Delicious spinach salad, but small.
Tried three very different dishes--pizza, jambalaya, and a chicken pasta dish--all were great
This was the first time I have ate at this restaurant. The food was very good! I will definitely visit again:)
Great food, mellow atmosphere, good background music, most of all awesome service! We will be sack.
Highly recommend that you check out Broken Rocks. My wife and I enjoy coming here on dates because the food is always great, there are plenty of drink options, and it's healthy food for the most part.
The food is slap hands down but the owners are not 5 stars. They work their staff way too hard and they unpay their employees. The price could be high but all in all the food is amazing
We were there last week for a birthday dinner and they didn’t disappoint. I had the Cajun Chicken Pasta and my wife had the Blackened Tuna Salad. Both were spot on as always. I also had the soup of the day, wild mushroom and asparagus. It was interesting but good.. Maybe a bit too much cornstarch in it. 5/5 every time we been there.
Great service and atmosphere
A pleasant surprise and absolutely delicious. We went in here thinking it would be less fancy compared to the local steakhouse, but we were somewhat wrong. The menu had such a great variety, the service was perfect, the drinks were extremely strong and we left happy! I would definitely recommend this as a visit while in Wooster. We had pot stickers and hummus for appetizers and then the flank steak and mussels in fettuccine for dinner. I would drive there from Cleveland for a day trip anytime!!
Lunch with my daughter was delightful. I reccomend Parmesan Salad. Cajun shrimp fettuccine excellent.
Love their food choices and always have something decent on draft.
Food was wonderful, nice setting in downtown wooster, service was good but not great, thus a 4 star rather than a 5. Definitely will be back.
Good food, great service.
